We were greeted by Patrick upon entry.
Knew we would be in good hands, super friendly & inviting.
Pizza was amazing, true wood oven, you could taste the quality.
Would recommend to anyone who loves a good thin crust pie.
We weren't planning to stop - my daughter just saw Brigade, loved the vibe, & pulled me in. Best spontaneous decision of the day.
We ordered a 12' Barbara pizza with extra bacon. First bite reaction - I just froze. (I swear this was my exact thought:)'This girl must be getting marriage proposals daily - the pizza is that good.'
I've tried a bunch of pizza spots around Montreal, but this one hit differently. It was real. I remember thinking, this is what pizza is supposed to taste like. Yet somehow, it felt like I was tasting pizza for the first time in my life.
The girl who made our pizza told us,'All our flour is imported from Italy. Our tomato sauce is imported from Italy as well. & yeah, we have a wood-fire oven - that really makes the whole difference.' You can see the wood stacks & feel the heat from the fire - it gives the place this raw, warm, industrial-but-welcoming vibe.
We snapped a bunch of photos: the oven, the wood pile, the art, even the flour jar. It's the kind of place you're just happy to stumble upon by accident.
If you ever pass by Brigade, don't overthink it. Just go in. You might end up having a small gourmet moment when you least expect it.
What a great place to go for good pizza. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. You got to watch them prepare the pizza right in front of your eyes. They rolled the dough, topped the pizzas & tossed them in the oven.
The pizzas were very good & prices were acceptable.
The staff were wonderful. They were there is you needed anything, but didn't hover to bother you. We had a chance to have great conversation with the family, without constant interruptions from the staff.
Their portions were good. We had three pizzas for two adults & two teenagers, & we all left stuffed.
If you are looking for great, not greasy pizza, then definitely hit this place up.
Great location, very warm & welcoming... lots of seating... it's pizza focused & has primarily Neapolitan style pizza... basically means thin crust oven baked... dough & marinara are very good... cheese is ok... nothing outstanding... they also have Detroit style deep dish pizza... but note.. this is not made fresh.. it's pre made & reheated .. was expecting it out of the oven, out of the tray freshly made.. it was not... still good just not as expected or what price would dictate... staff are very nice.. 10/10... but the restaurant looked as if it hadn't been cleaned recently... floors dirty & bathroom a no go zone... that's a deal breaker on recommendations... good luck.
I taste the margherita & it is very close to an Italian pizza despite grana (or parmesan ) that has been spread over the pizza prior the ove. But otherwise a good taste pizza much more better than other I taste before outside Italy. Ovens are fed with wood. Top
We had a larger party however almost everyones pizza came to us cold, not sure why or how given the size of their oven. The taste was ok, but given it was not hot it ruined the experience.
The concept changed a little over the years, but their pizzas are definitely among my favorites of all times. The dough is amazing & pizzas are cooked in a wood oven which gives it a nice charred taste. My go-to when I'm downtown for sure.

Cute atmosphere at the back of the restaurant & excellent wood oven pizza. Even had my husband's favourite pizza cheese (fior de latte) & a vegan cheese option for me!

Fresh ingredients cooked in a wood fire oven! The employees were friendly & gave good suggestions on which toppings went well together. You should go before this place catches on because I foresee long line-up once more people start hearing about it. The beer was terrible but I hate beer anyway…
