This restaurant has the potential to be great however the kitchen is perhaps its biggest downfall. Food is okay for French Cuisine, but nothing magical or spectacular. Plates took a very long time to come out, & when they did show up plates were not piping hot. Escargot & Bone Marrow were decent but arrived warm-ish. Gnocchi was very salty... very rich but heavily salted Duck Confit had a good sauce... but it came out dry which suggests it sat there under a warming lamp for an excessive period Price vs value wasn't there. Too expensive for a mediocre meal. Wait staff though were pleasant & had urgency.

First of all, The pre-meal bread should be served before appetizer, we are not sure if this restaurant just changed the rule of fine dining restaurant. The restaurant looks like a fine dining restaurant, but the service is not like that at all . They need to train their new staff before they have enough capability to handle tables. We need to tell the our "server", " can we have some bread" , & then we can get the bread". We need to tell the " server" " we are done with appetizers" & then they take everything from the table. We asked the "server"" how long will our main take?", then they helped us fire the main. We told the"server" " we need cutlery to eat" & then they gave us the cutlery. We come here for eating not for teaching people how to work on their job. We were sitting by the window. We finished our appetizer at 7pm. We got the main after 40mins -----7:40pm. We have 3 people, everyone order their own appetizer & their own main. We leave here with hungry.
We went for brunch for my cousin's bachelorette & the service was EXCELLENT. Melissa was wonderful- she was patient, accommodating, friendly, & informative. She made the experience that much better. Our food was delicious. I will definitely return to Brasserie 701 during my next trip to Montreal.

Attended brunch with a group of 9 ladies. The food was great but the service was even better. Melissa was very attentive, kind, & shared reccomendations for night life as we are from Boston. Wonderful experience overall !

Dining here was very pleasurable. The food was very good once we got it. We started with the cheese platter which was almost a meal in itself. I ordered the filet , my husband ordered bouillabaisse. However when our meals came, my order was wrong. I got the steak frites which I did not order. Our server, who didn't write anything down. Said he thought I had ordered it. Nope. They took both meals back & redid my meal. The food when served was excellent. We had lots of people constantly asking if we needed anything so they were very attentive but very odd in that the course of our meal we had four different servers

Saturday May 29th 6:30 PM - We had a reservation, but we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our table. The staff is very friendly & helpful. We really had a great time. Our waiter "Gavin" was awesome. The food was extremely tasty, the charcuterie board & the beef flank steak were absolutely amazing. We loved it so much & our drinks were perfect. The only reason why I gave 4/5 is because we could only stay a maximum of 2 hours at our table, which is totally fair, but we were a little bit rushed into paying once we were done eating, even though we were still waiting for 2 more drinks. When we received our drinks, the bill came & we had to chug our drinks, pay & leave. I felt like they did not take into consideration the fact that we waited almost 30 minutes for our table & it took almost 1h to receive our appetizers & 20 to 30 minutes to receive our drinks. It is not the fastest service but overall it was a fantastic night. Thank you!
Really disappointing as I came here earlier in the summer & had a great experience - but this repeat visit was terrible. Took 45 minutes for food to arrive & service wasn't great. The waitstaff were super friendly to some diners & cold to others?! Especially the girl at the entrance seating people. Very odd, I wouldn't return which is a shame as I loved it previously. It's also not cheap, which makes this even harder to swallow.
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful interior & a sunny outdoor seating area. The staff were very patient with our large group who asked to move inside when it got too hot outside (fortunately it wasn't super busy). Fantastic oysters. Solid moles frites
Nous avons été bruncher ce samedi, 21 Septembre en compagnie de l'excellente Mélissa. Le steak & egg était tendre & excellent, le plateau de viennoiserie était frais & bien présenté. Mes amis ont beaucoup apprécié les oeufs Bénédicte classique ainsi que la gauffre au poulet & oeufs. Mélissa a offert un service au-delà de nos attentes, très attentionnée & drôle. Dès le départ, elle a saisi notre « vibe » & l'a matché jusqu'à la fin. Je conseille fortement! :)
