BOUS is truly the place to experience authentic Persian food in a modern, elegant setting. The quality of the ingredients, the depth of flavor, & the attention to detail in every dish are incredible. Every element feels intentional, & each dish tells a story.
The homemade yogurt is unlike anything you find in stores or at most restaurants. It adds richness, balance, & complexity to the meal in such a beautiful way. The kebabs are also exceptional. Unlike many Persian restaurants, they use a charcoal grill, which gives the meat that deep, smoky flavor that kebabs are meant to have. The chicken kebab is hands down the best I've ever had! Tender, juicy, perfectly balanced, & full of flavor.
The kashk-e bademjoon with sangak bread is another standout. It pairs so well together & is absolutely worth ordering.
The stews are also excellent, especially the fesenjoon, which is traditionally made with duck. It's rich, comforting, & deeply flavorful.
The drinks are just as memorable. They're unique, refreshing, & full of character, with each one feeling rooted in Iranian culture.
The desserts are also effortlessly amazing. The faloodeh is so refreshing, with the perfect sweet-&-sour balance, & it's something you simply cannot find at this level of quality just anywhere. Their saffron ice cream sandwich is another must-try. It's made with a traditional ghorabieh cookie, one of my favorite Persian cookies, & the combination works beautifully.
The atmosphere at BOUS is warm, welcoming, chic, & absolutely gorgeous. It feels modern without losing the soul of Persian hospitality. It's refreshing to see Persian food presented with such care & high standards while still honoring its core flavors & identity.
BOUS is doing justice to Persian cuisine in the modern era. It's the perfect place to introduce friends to Persian food, & a restaurant that truly celebrates the beauty, depth, & richness of Iranian culture.
Very disappointing experience. The prices were far too high for what was served. The koobideh & jooje kababs were each about half a skewer, making the portions surprisingly small. The kababs were served without rice, which is very unusual for a Persian restaurant & made the meal feel incomplete. The overall food quality was quite ordinary. Considering the high prices, the meal offered very poor value for money.
Lovely space & great ambiance. You can see they thought of quality for the furniture & decor, it does feel high end, sleek yet warm. I went for lunch & the service was very friendly, attentive & helped us select from the menu. The food was very good, you can also tell they use quality ingredients. Portions were perfect & the formula including appetizer & main meal is well priced (in a city where much of everything is now overpriced & lacks quality). The space is great for groups also, so I am looking forward to bring a group for an evening dinner. I definetely recommend the experience.
I was really disappointed with this restaurant. The food quality was poor & nothing like what I would expect from a Persian restaurant. The portions were surprisingly small, especially considering the high prices. On top of that, the atmosphere didn't feel Persian at all-it lacked the warmth & authentic vibe that make Persian dining special. Overall, the quality simply doesn't justify the overpriced menu. There are much better places to enjoy authentic Persian food for the same price or less.
We were so impressed by the quality of the food, the music, the interior design, the sparkingly clean & organized kitchen ... this pace is a gem. I wish there was a branch in LA where I live.
Unfortunately, this restaurant was a disappointment. The food quality was below expectations, & the portions were very small & not filling. Considering the high prices, the overall value was poor. I don't mind paying more for a great meal, but in this case, the quality & portion sizes simply didn't justify the cost. I wouldn't recommend it unless they improve both the food & the value for money.
Outstanding experience from start to finish. The quality of the meat is exceptional, perfectly cooked, tender, & full of flavor. Every dish was beautifully presented, & the desserts (see my pics) were just as impressive.
Staff extremely friendly (thank you Sarena!) & polite.
If you're looking for an upscale Persian dining experience in Montreal, Bous is a must-try!
Bous is hands down one of the best Persian restaurants I've been to. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Every dish was perfectly seasoned & tasted authentic, with generous portions & high-quality ingredients.
The service was warm, attentive, & welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Omar, who was absolutely excellent-professional, friendly, attentive, & genuinely made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, making it perfect for both a casual dinner & a special occasion. The kebabs were exceptionally tender, the rice was perfectly prepared, & the appetizers were outstanding. You can truly tell that a lot of care goes into every detail.
If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine & exceptional service, I highly recommend Bous. We will definitely be back!
This is the best Persian restaurant in Montreal, we had an amazing experience celebrating an occasion, the food is delicious & full of taste. The ingredients are high quality & service is spectacular. Definitely recommend this gem.
Wow! What an experience. This was our first time at a Persian restaurant & we will definitely be back. We made a reservation so had no trouble being seated. Our waitress was friendly & very helpful with recommending the Kashk Bademjoon for a starter & it did not disappoint. We also had the Barg & Joojeh Kabobs with rice, & they were also great. Maybe a bit pricy for the amount of meat, but it was good quality meat & well prepared.
While it seems some other reviews say the menu is limited, you can tell the chef knows his stuff & really cares about making sure the dishes that they do offer are top quality. I would also personally a smaller menu of dishes that are really well done than a smorgasbord of mediocre options.
Overall, it was a great experience & we'll definitely be back.
