We were a group of 4, 2 adults & two teenagers. We are Persian but both teenagers have grown up in Canada & very difficult to impress them with Persian food made at home.
Given the above, we all loved every thing we ordered from starters to main course & desserts.
The tastes were elegant as if one is in a dream. My teenage son said this was not normal Persian food, in fact it was'fine Persian food & amazingly delicious'. He asked me to try to improve the dishes I make to be similar to what Bous offered.
The rice was fragrant, the onion marinated in lemon juice & sumac was amazing, meat was tender & juicy, & tasting the bbq'd eggplant with kashk took us to heaven. Last but not the least, was the quality of desserts including the elegantly decorated Persian saffron ice cream, Persian love cakes with rhubarb, & the authentic tea with fragrance of cinnamon & cumin.
I give 5 star to Bous, & would even give more stars if I could push the limit.
Bous is authentic Persian cuisine at its finest. Every dish stays true to its roots while elevating familiar childhood flavors into something truly special.
The cocktails are a must-try, each tells a story. The Sabzeh was incredibly unique & instantly transported me to the fresh aromas of Persian gardens. & don't leave without trying the chocolate cake with Arde Shire dessert, it's a nostalgic Persian classic reimagined with beautiful presentation.
From the warm atmosphere to the outstanding food & creative drinks, Bouse delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!
(It was SO good that we forgot to take photos… so here's the dessert that actually made it into the camera roll! :))
We've officially found our new favourite Persian restaurant in montreal! From the moment we walked in we were blown away. The architecture & design are beautifully thought out, the persian music sets the perfect ambiance, & the warm hospitality immediately made us feel at home. Everything we tried was delicious: from the kashke bademjoon (our fav - so creamy!) to the koobideh kebab to the delicious ghorme sabzi to the chocolate date dessert - even the drinks were memorable! You can truly feel the love & authentic persian touch that goes into every dish. Special shout out to chef Ali & host Omar for making our experience so special with their incredible hospitality & service. My partner & I can't wait to come back & bring more friends & family. Highly recommend!
I really wanted to love this place but there are a few things that made the experience not worth it at all.
The service was horrible. We didn't get served water even once & every time we wanted it refilled we had to actually get up & ask the sever. None of the dishes came with serving cutlery so with a group of 7 it was so hard to share the appetizers & we had to ask for that every round. We ordered our wine & it took 30 minutes for them to serve it & our appetizers had arrived already. Overall, very poor service.
The portions are extremely & unreasonably small considering the price & some not at all representative of the actual authentic dishes. We ordered a mast moosir for $14 which was literally 3 spoons & tasted nothing like it. I'm not expecting a Shandiz experience but I dine out a lot so I believe these expectations are pretty fair. We got Kebabs & they were all half skewers. For 7 people, we ordered 5 mains & all the appetizers & still wasn't close to enough. We realized today that two of the appetizers were also missing. The dessert plates were the same as the main plates & it eas so hard to eat ice cream & faloodeh off of it? literally playing hockey haha. Some of these are small things that can be easily fixed to elevate the experience. The taste of the food, to be fair, was good & we liked it but like I said very poor service & disappointingly small portions.
BOUS is truly the place to experience authentic Persian food in a modern, elegant setting. The quality of the ingredients, the depth of flavor, & the attention to detail in every dish are incredible. Every element feels intentional, & each dish tells a story.
The homemade yogurt is unlike anything you find in stores or at most restaurants. It adds richness, balance, & complexity to the meal in such a beautiful way. The kebabs are also exceptional. Unlike many Persian restaurants, they use a charcoal grill, which gives the meat that deep, smoky flavor that kebabs are meant to have. The chicken kebab is hands down the best I've ever had! Tender, juicy, perfectly balanced, & full of flavor.
The kashk-e bademjoon with sangak bread is another standout. It pairs so well together & is absolutely worth ordering.
The stews are also excellent, especially the fesenjoon, which is traditionally made with duck. It's rich, comforting, & deeply flavorful.
The drinks are just as memorable. They're unique, refreshing, & full of character, with each one feeling rooted in Iranian culture.
The desserts are also effortlessly amazing. The faloodeh is so refreshing, with the perfect sweet-&-sour balance, & it's something you simply cannot find at this level of quality just anywhere. Their saffron ice cream sandwich is another must-try. It's made with a traditional ghorabieh cookie, one of my favorite Persian cookies, & the combination works beautifully.
The atmosphere at BOUS is warm, welcoming, chic, & absolutely gorgeous. It feels modern without losing the soul of Persian hospitality. It's refreshing to see Persian food presented with such care & high standards while still honoring its core flavors & identity.
BOUS is doing justice to Persian cuisine in the modern era. It's the perfect place to introduce friends to Persian food, & a restaurant that truly celebrates the beauty, depth, & richness of Iranian culture.
Outstanding experience from start to finish. The quality of the meat is exceptional, perfectly cooked, tender, & full of flavor. Every dish was beautifully presented, & the desserts (see my pics) were just as impressive.
Staff extremely friendly (thank you Sarena!) & polite.
If you're looking for an upscale Persian dining experience in Montreal, Bous is a must-try!
Prix exorbitants époustouflant 20$ pour 3 bout de poulets & 50 pour 5 bout de viande mais c'est très très bon & les portions de desserts sont grosses a peut près une heure d'attente sur une nuit remplie service très gentil
