Bouillon Bilk is a beautiful fine dining spot in downtown Montreal with a modern & elegant interior design. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed & upscale meal.
We highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as it's a popular spot. While they offer a tasting menu, we weren't too hungry, so we ordered one appetizer & one main course each & both were absolutely delicious.

Used to be a five star review in every category for me five years ago. I recently brought a friend here & felt embarrassed of my choice. Quality of food has gone down hill tremendously. Presentation was ugly & food execution was sloppy. We ordered same thing & the plates came out all looking different. Some had more food in it others significantly less. Pictures taken 5 years ago looked like refined art; now they look like an intoxicated homeless person is doing the cooking. Cheap interior decor choices especially the tile. Bizarre ceiling treatment heightened noise level . Service was bit rough & clientele wearing sport shorts & flip flops. Nothing says class nor high end except the bill. Some say the Michelin grading was too strict toward Montreal restaurants but in my opinion they were accurate & honest. I should've spent $550 elsewhere.View more

Comparing with other experience around the world with the same price range, the food is subpar from what you would expect. The gastronomic experience is not impressive (taste & visuals). You would make your own ambiance with your friends rather than the place making it for you. About 350$ for 2 persons having 5 services + some wine. Dommage que l'ambiance du restaurant soit très froid & ordinaire. Même que ça sent pas très bon. Ça fait un peu cafétéria. Il devrait ajouter des nappes blanche & refaire la décoration, ça changerait tout !

A truly unforgettable experience! Credit to the front of house & kitchen teams alike. Party of 5 adults eating the 5 & 8 course tasting menus, with discovery & traditional wine pairings. I dined here on Sunday, May 25th during a recent visit to Montreal. I thought the food was executed very well. Almost perfect. Would have like to have seen a little more creativity & pushing the envelope, but there's never anything wrong with keeping it simple & executing it perfectly. I just wasn't really wowed by anything I had...apart from the foams & broths. The front of house service however, leaves VERY little to be desired. There were multiple times between courses where my guest & I were waiting for silverware as our food sat on the table. Also I had gotten up to use the bathroom & expected to find my napkin folded over my chair like most fine dining establishments, that was not the case. & in the most infuriating example, when my guest was looking for a white wine & wanted the white burgundy, the server repeated said that was more expensive. I'm having an 8 course tasting, I know how much the wine is, & I don't care. I've dined in many fine dining establishments, for work, academia, & pleasure. All-in-all, I think the food is great, but everything else is mid...I don't think I'll be returning, nor will I suggest this place to anyone else.View more
