A wonderful experience & quite fascinating! The staff were all great & the DJ was exceptional. The bartenders were extremely talented, fun to watch, & professional. The food was delicious & the best I've ever had at any bar. The drinks were all very good, although not much alcohol in the cocktails. Kudos to the chef(s). Overall, a splendid evening!
Great bar with an amazing selection of whiskey! Vincent, the bartender, was very knowledgeable & friendly. He recommended the Talisker whiskey flight, & it was very good. I think I've found a new favorite! The Shelby Lte was also very good. We really enjoyed our after dinner drinks here. Everyone was very friendly!
As out of town travelers we stumbled upon this place while just looking for a place to duck into for a drink. WOW! Were we surprised & impressed. The drinks were sophisticated & the atmosphere welcoming & embracing. Felix, our bartender (mixologist?), was engaging, informative, & enjoyable if not intriguing to watch. Definitely a must go-to for those wanting to experience a beverage & not just grab a drink. Five stars for sure!
This place was the absolute best bar/speakeasy/whiskey bar in Montreal, can't convince me otherwise. My boyfriend & I came here together & had such a fantastic night & experience having Peter as our server & the bartender making sure we would like our drinks before we ordered. We just had to come back! We sadly! Didn't try the food but it smelled absolutely DELICIOUS & it seems the cooks/kitchen take their time preparing & making each meal with excellence , wish we tried it now that we aren't there:( As we came back a second time we had come with a group making us a total of 6 on a Saturday night, it was very busy but the host was so generous & helped us get in & had us at the most perfect table for our group. Our server was Tony & I've never had a better service & experience (other than with Peter since they're best friends!!) I highly highly recommend coming here whether it be for drinks, food, or just vibes you will NEVER be disappointed. THANK YOU GUYS!!!
My group of friends & I were visiting Montreal for a girls trip & happened to stumble upon Bootlegger! We cannot say enough good about this cocktail bar! We loved it so much we went two nights in a row, & tried a variety of cocktails & food! The atmosphere & staff were exceptional & we would choose to go back there any day! We sat at the bar both nights to watch the bartenders craft their drinks as the drink list seems endless, & each & every drink is carefully made. If you are in Montreal, this is an absolute must on your itinerary!!!!
Sitting at the bar top provided an intimate experience that will be hard to top. An excellent view of the stage, where a phenomenal trio set a lively but smooth jazz ambience, & an opportunity to watch the bartenders as they skillfully crafted high quality cocktails while exchanging playful banter amongst each other created the perfect atmosphere to end a weekend (or start a week). Even with a relatively tiny area to work in, the kitchen staff flew through orders with quiet & calm grace. Bootlegger was a delightful surprise, & I look forward to visiting again. Ps. I had a great time, the atmosphere was very cool, the drinks were delicious, & our bartender Christ was very skilled. He asked what kinds of flavors we liked & made drinks that were perfectly matched! Next time I am in Montreal I will be back.
