This is a place to go if you want good (slightly unusual) food & excellent service. I dined solo & I chose to have a pasta course & a meat course… & I was too full to have dessert. The lamb gnocchi was good. The beef filet & Caesar course wasn't my favorite… there was too much sauce going on or somehow combined the ingredients just tasted like mustard. Lettuce soaked with mustard. Whatever they are doing is drowning the taste of the lettuce. Their bread & petit fours were excellent. Amouse bouche of rice & peas was not much flavor. The wine was excellent. I would pass this restaurant recommendation on to friends who are coming to Venice. It's a good experience overall.

The food sucks
The starter with the green beans was not fully cooked, which made me throw up right after I had it. The cuttlefish noodle is the worst which tasted like sea water-very salty & fishy. All the other dishes are nothing special but much more expensive than other restaurants. The dessert was too sweet.
I really recommend that anyone that used to Asian food never go to this restaurant. The taste is so weird!!!

We ate here last minute after asking our hotel front desk for recommendations. We ended up having a 3 hour tour of Italy's food history & culture. Paolo Fragiacomo served us & provided attentive service. You can sense his passion for food & Its connection to the people. Too many tourists have made Venice an outdoor air mall & are passing by chain restaurants the zombie cruise industry has created. Instead why not invest in learning about Venetian food & wine? Yes it's a bit on the pricier side but you only live once & they help local artists & I sensed want to teach patrons about local food & drink. We ended up having 3 courses & buying the beautiful glass water bottles & olive oil. He even gave us a beautiful umbrella for 2 to keep after since it was raining outside. Ended our trip with one of the most memorable dining experience I've had.

I went to Bistrot de Venise for a truly special, authentic Venetian meal. My group was seated right next to a window where we could watch the gondolas pass outside - it was so magical to watch! I started with a Bistrot de Venise spritz that was one of the best I had in Venice. We then ordered the historical tasting menu that had incredible dishes, & I highly recommend ordering this menu with its wine pairings. The sommelier, Nicola, was incredible & explained to us with great passion & detail each pairing. Every course was delicious & it was so fun to eat recipes that were traditional & authentic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to add a culinary highlight on a trip to Venice!

Friendly & charming service. Sommelier on staff who knows his stuff. Classic dishes as well as modern influences. The veal kidney was delicious. If only the portions were a bit bigger. I understand why Michelin recommends this place.

Avevamo scelto questo locale per un pranzo di compleanno, quindi con aspettative naturalmente alte. Dalle foto e dall'impostazione del posto si percepiscono eleganza, atmosfera e una certa ricerca estetica, e infatti l'ambiente è curato e scenografico. Anche i piatti si presentano bene. Tuttavia, al di là della forma, sinceramente ci aspettavamo di più dall'esperienza complessiva. Per un'occasione speciale non ci ha lasciato quella soddisfazione che un posto del genere dovrebbe garantire. La nota peggiore è arrivata al momento del pagamento: non sono state accettate alcune carte bancomat per motivi legati alle commissioni del circuito e abbiamo dovuto pagare in contanti. Una situazione che oggi appare davvero poco comprensibile e che, per un locale di questo livello, non è normale. In sintesi: posto bello, ma per noi esperienza inferiore alle attese.
