I inquired as to what is behind the Japanese & Korean fusion & i learned that the Chef did sushi in Vancouver (that's a good sign in my mind). The very young man who served us was super polite ((I think he called my friend Sir 30x throughout the dinner)) & entertained all my questions & even helped (& encouraged) my friend with his Korean pronunciation ;)
The veggie dumplings were made with love, its hard to find yummy dumplings that dont just throw a bunch of cabbage at the situation. I opted for a Japanese & a Korean choice. My TNT roll was super fresh & yummy, as well as nicely presented. The sweet & spicy chicken was crispy on the outside & like butter on the inside. It could have been more spicy. I tasted the cucumber salad which comes with the combo meal & that was yummy as well.
My friends combo meal looked like some good bang for your buck: beef with rice & a nice cup of miso soup with 3 wee bowls of various marinated veggies.
I will definitely go back to try the other flavor of chicken & a different sushi option.
It was a nice discovery & a solid local dining option. I would recommend it to my best friend. As well, there are many excellent appetizer choices - its hard to choose.
The tables still have the Korean BBQ warmers in the center of the table from the previous resto which is kinda of awkward but I noticed it serves as a conversation piece.
They seem to do a very steady stream of delivery too, so its an option to get it to go.
I'm quite sensitive to taste, & my mood really depends on good food.
After trying so many disappointing Dak-galbi in the US, Canada, & even in Chuncheon,
I finally found one that isn't overly sweet, has the perfect seasoning, & is clean, spicy, & truly delicious.
The side dishes also pair perfectly. 👍👍
Miga has been a huge source of comfort during my life away from home.
& one more thing that amazes me: this restaurant has such a large menu, yet everything is cooked by just one chef - & it's consistently delicious every single time. It really shows how much effort & heart he puts into every dish. Truly impressive.
Thank you to the chef for always preparing food with such consistency & care.
I leave satisfied every time, & I'm genuinely grateful.
The food was absolutely flavorful. We ordered the dakgalbi, bulgogi, sweet & spicy fried chicken & chicken katsu gimbap. It had the right amount of spice & kick to it's food. One of the best korean restaurants to go to if you are in Montreal or visiting Montreal. Additionally, the owner is literally the sweetest, he checks up on his customers continuously & just the most wholesome person ever. I will definitely be coming here again - amazing!
A very attentive owner who made us feel welcome & provided great service. I tried the sweet & spicy Korean chicken. Mild, nothing more. They also have hotpots, which I'm sure is where they really shine.
The food was really tasty & the place was really calm. The decor was also pleasant & looked elegant. I think that for the portions, the price is very good. I ordered spicy food & it was fine to my taste it wasn't too spicy but for other people it might be too spicy but they have a lot of recipes without spiciness. I really recommend this place to go either as a couple or with a group of friends.

I visited MiGa recently & had a wonderful dining experience. We ordered the spicy stir-fried squid & pork (Osam Bulgogi), nigiri sushi, & soft tofu stew (Sundubu Jjigae).
The Osam Bulgogi was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice-it truly felt like being invited to a Korean home-cooked dinner. The nigiri, including tuna, salmon, & torched salmon belly, was excellent-honestly, on par with what you'd expect from a dedicated sushi restaurant. If I had to point out one small suggestion, I'd love to see slightly thicker & longer slices of sashimi with less rice (maybe 2/3 of the current amount). Still, the freshness of the ingredients really stood out-please keep that up!
The Sundubu Jjigae was the most disappointing dish, as the tofu itself lacked flavor. It tasted healthy, but a bit more depth would have made a difference.
Service was friendly & left a great impression. The restaurant has a warm, Korean-style ambiance, & if they continue to maintain this atmosphere & authentic flavors, I believe MiGa has a bright future ahead. It seems like it's only been open for about a month, & I truly hope they keep the same heart & spirit going forward.
I'll definitely return & would recommend it to others!
