I wasn't lucky with mine. I tried Fesenjoon with rice. I didn't like it. It's a thick heavy & sweetie stew. The rest of the food was delicious
The quality of the food has really gone down compared to the early days of this restaurant. They're using the lowest quality rice, & the rice served is really tasteless. The kebab skewers have also gotten thinner every time I've come
The quality of koobideh kebab was so bad & the rice was awful. The rest was good.
I recently dined at Behesht restaurant & had a mixed experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Iranian-style main courses, which were impressive. The menu has several delicious side options, adding to the overall appeal. I tried their kebabs (a combination of different types) which ranged from good to average in taste. The salad was fresh & good, but the rice was a bit disappointing as it wasn't prepared very well. The bread, unfortunately, was not fresh & had a sweet taste that I did not enjoy. (Their olive side dish was my favorite part, well balanced & tasted kind of smooth). I didn't notice ( & didn't ask) any alcoholic beverages, but I saw some people smoking hookah ( outdoor sitting area) The restaurant's ambiance was pleasant with nice decorations, & it was clean. Free parking spaces were available, which was convenient. The servers were polite & nice, but the overall service was slow. Their prices were fine, not expensive, nor cheap. Despite some shortcomings, the overall quality of the food & dining experience was good.
My wife has celiac (Gluten allergy) & the waiter took care of it carefully. Even he was alert to mention that rice could be contaminated due to having bread (Tahdig underneath rice cooking pot). Just perfect. Delicious & generous food. Im traditional style dishes (Metal trays). Amazing Mastokhiar.
Behesht Restaurant in Montreal is an absolute gem & a true paradise for Persian cuisine lovers! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The culinary journey here is nothing short of extraordinary - every dish is crafted with impeccable skill & bursting with authentic flavors. The kebabs are grilled to perfection, tender & juicy, while the fragrant rice dishes, infused with saffron & other delightful spices, are simply divine. The rich, savory stews are an absolute must-try, & the appetizers & desserts will leave you speechless. The service is top-notch, with attentive & friendly staff who go above & beyond to ensure an unforgettable dining experience. Behesht Restaurant truly lives up to its name - it's a little piece of heaven in Montreal. Whether you're a connoisseur of Persian food or a first-timer, this place will exceed your expectations. Highly recommend!
Amazing melt in mouth kebabs & super flavourful rice! We ordered a platter for 2 which had 4 different kebabs, 2 plates of rice, humus & pita & 2 soups. The lentil soup had great balance of ginger & freshness of cilantro! The kebabs were moist & fresh with very prompt service. The meal also came with free Persian tea. The only critique is of the female/ladies washroom which was in a horrible condition & the server asked me to use the men's washroom which was occupied & led to an awkward encounter.
It is the best kabak restaurant in Montreal , I have been to many restaurants in montreal & Behesht is the best , I always bring my friends or any new comers & all like it so much , delicious menu , very very friendly people & nice atmosphere, rice & soap are very delcious , I always orders beheshet or Shahani plate because I used to go there with friends or family & really , it is satisfied , very clean place Thank you so much & keep on this nice services
We came to this restaurant as everytime we visit Montreal we like to have some Persian food. We saw this restaurant had 4.5 stars so we immediately decided to come to Behesht. The spot itself is very cozy, small but cozy. The inside is designed very nicely giving you a taste of what Iranian restaurants are like. My dish (bakhtiari $50) Others ($20-30) The kabob was pretty tasty however there were a few critiques. The rice had a bit of a smell to it, I'm not sure why.. if it's cheap rice or maybe the way they made it? One of the beef kabobs were completely burnt on the back as well. The chicken was juicy & tender but lacked salt as I had to put salt on my whole dish. The salad & most-mousier (yogurt) was delicious. The service was also OK. Tea was complimentary but they brought the tea with our food dishes still on the table so we tried to stack our plates & make room for the tea. They also forgot to bring our drinks & we had to remind them. One more thing: the bathrooms are very dirty! If the owner or staff sees this I hope it gives them a sign to clean their bathroom.... For these reasons I can only give this place a 3/5
Beef & Chicken Kabbab are good & a must try with herbal rice. 1st time we went there it was superb. Kishk beitenjan is quite tasty for an appetizer. 2nd time we were there 6 months later, however, the quality of food seems to have gone down significantly. The meat was not fresh, neither the chicken & tasted v ordinar. I will give it one more chance before I rule it out.
The ambiance was inviting & comforting! The staff (Mr.Parsa) was incredibly attentive, providing great service throughout the lunch. We ordered a mix grill & a lamb shank, kabobs were tender, lamb shank was tasty, & the rice was well prepared. However, I did not like the coriander seeds on the kabobs & the tahdigh was definitely not fresh!
Good food. We had ordered a huge plate for 5 people. 6 people were able to finish it. The plate came with rice & also tea at the end. It took more than an hour to get the food eventhough we booked our tables in advance. We felt we were not served properly, water was not provided until we asked for. Did not like the service but the food was good if you can wait for an hour (we went on a Sunday afternoon, not sure about other days) Restrooms were clean
Very delicious. I had zereshk polo ba morgh (barberry rice with chicken), mirza Ghassemi (eggplant, tomato & rice stew) & kashke bademjan (eggplant dip), all very delicious.
We had the darbari for 3, was served with 3 rice & 3 appetizers either lentil soup which was spot on or salad with hummus which was nice as well. The food was more than enough, very generous portion.
The meat was very fresh & perfectly seasoned. Overall a great environment, the indoor dining is really nice & aesthetically pleasing, outdoor seating was nice too but it lowkey smelled weird.
I’d definitely recommend if someone’s into Persian cuisine or looking to try it out, this is your spot!
