We had a wonderful experience at Behesht Restaurant. The food was excellent & full of authentic Persian flavours. We tried the Koobideh, Barg, & Joojeh kebabs, & all of them were delicious, tender, & very well prepared.
The appetizers were also fantastic. We especially loved the marinated olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh) & the garlic torshi (Sir Torshi) - both were absolutely delicious.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, & professional, & the service throughout our meal was excellent.
Great Persian food, great service, & a very enjoyable experience. **Definitely a place we would visit again when we are in Montreal. Highly recommended!
I was visiting Montreal & had one of the best Persian food experiences I've had in Canada! The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious & high quality, & everything tasted fresh & flavorful.
The staff were incredibly polite & attentive, & our food arrived quickly.
Everything was great from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Stepping into Behesht feels like escaping the neighborhood hustle & walking straight into a cozy, authentic corner of Persia. The space hits you with an immediate sense of warmth brick accents, ornate traditional brassware, & rich textiles setting an inviting, transportive tone before you even take a seat. The irresistible aroma of wood-charred meats, fried mint, & saffron drifting from the kitchen instantly lets you know you're in for a exceptional feast.
?The meal opens brilliantly with Kashk-e Bademjan, a rich, warm eggplant dish slow-cooked until velvety smooth & layered with caramelized onions, garlic, & dried mint. Drizzled with tangy fermented whey (kashk) & crowned with crispy fried onions (piaz dagh), it delivers a deep, smoky-savory punch that demands to be scooped up with fresh flatbread.
?That leads right into the showstopping Persian Kebab Platter, served family-style on a heavy, hammered metal tray.
The charcoal-grilled lineup hits every mark: juicy, hand-formed Kebab Koobideh packed with onion & saffron aromatics; vibrant Joojeh Kebab featuring tender chicken marinated in lemon, yogurt, & saffron; & beautifully charred cuts of Barg beef cooked over open coals for maximum depth. Balanced by blistered fire-roasted tomatoes & sharp pickled red cabbage to cut through the richness, it's a generous, soul-warming meal that fully captures the heart of Persian hospitality.
We visited Montreal for three days, & this exceptional Iranian restaurant was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The koobideh was the best we had during our visit-absolutely delicious! The traditional Persian decor was beautiful, & we especially appreciated the lovely prayer room.
Wonderful food, welcoming atmosphere, & a great experience overall. Highly recommended!
First time trying Persian cuisine. We went on a weekday, so the restaurant was calm with no big crowds.
Atmosphere & decor: 10/10
Service: 10/10
Tea: 10/10
Food: 6.5/10. The lamb shank had too much tomato sauce & wasn't very enjoyable. The kobebiahs were delicious they were juicy & tender. The soup was tasty & warm. The salad was also good.
Great Persian food in Toronto. The staff were incredibly friendly & the food was also great. I would not recommend the barg kebab though but the koobideh & kebab torsh was amazing. Will definitely return
