Wonderfully decorated & truly a place of warmth & class. Staff are friendly though some had difficulty speaking & understanding English - though Farci is a staple at this restaurant :) The menu is wide & plated as good or better than in the photos. Pricing is on par with other Persian restaurant of this caliber. Portions were excellent. Freshness & quality are excellent. Review. Salad was fresh, cold & crisp. Dressing was good but nothing special. Lamb shank stew (Baghali Polo with Mahicheh) - not recommended. Portion was on the small side. Meat was rubbery & the flavour was lacking. Something wrong likely how they cooked it as it's supposed to be fall of the bone tender. It could be the cut they used & how they cooked it. The fava bean & dill rice was plentiful but overly seasoned with dill, the beans were hard & not tender, & the rice was very dry. It's likely they prepared the typical rice & then added in the additional ingredient & then over cooked the rice - came with a small piece it tahdeek. Also, insufficient amount of stew / gravy. There was not enough to properly marry with the tough, dry & chewy meat. Chicken kebab (chicken Koobideh). The chicken was cooked perfectly as well as seasoned beautifully. The portion was plentiful & came with perfectly cooked basmati rice that was fluffy & not greasy & came with a small piece it tahdeek. Beef kebab (Koobideh) was perfectly seasoned & cooked. It's was so juicy & fresh like no other restaurant has done to match. As per above, cake with & excellent tasting portions of basmati rice & a piece of tahdeek. Yogurt with Persian shallot dip (Must Moosir) was perfect & balanced with a thick creamy yogurt & excellent on pita or combined with the proteins. Portion was very good & four people can easily share. Eggplant dip (Mirza Ghasemi) was superb! Best in the city for sure. The smokeless was on point & the seasoning was perfectly balanced. It's so good you just want to skip to pita & scoop it out with a utensil. Apparently this is their most ordered appetizer they sell. Portion was excellent & four people can easily share. Dessert. I have included the dessert we had & lack the name of it as it's also not mentioned in the menu. It's essentially layered thin pastry (like a proper French mille feuilles) with cream filling in & around it covered with chopped pistachios. I hope I have recalled this properly. This was such a delicious light & flavourful treat away from the typical Baklawa. The only point here is the price ratio to the portion - either the price is too high for the portion or the portion should be larger as it's no more two to (max) three small forkfuls. We didn't notice & mention of BYOB or the selling of any form of alcohol so plan not to consume here. This being stated, you really don't need the alcohol as the atmosphere, service & food really make you very relaxed & satiated. It's amazing how packed the place was & yet the demeanour of the customers was calm & the volume of the place was comfortable to be able to hear the person accepts the table from you. I mention this as if your like mane people, a restaurant with a more calm & quite atmosphere is actually an attraction especially for the elderly who may have hearing challenged. All in all the place is great & will be returning for certain. As for the 4 star rating, this is solely due to the lamb shank stew. It was just too far from "earning a star" & until this dish is prepared properly I without the star, though a more accurate number for me would be 4.5 stars. This being stated I doubt I would order it again as I would not be sure that the chief or management/ ownership will conclude with the same assessment & instead be quite defensive of their food prep & likely not change a thing. I would welcome peoples feedback on this dish to let me know your experience & hopefully one day this dish will be prepared as it should.
Good restaurant, atmosphere is nice & comfortable, service was fast , quality of food is good & acceptable also.
Food & service was excellent. Portions were more than generous, although I'm not Iranian & my perception on authentic Persian cuisine might be different from others. I can safely say that the quality of the dishes was excellent & I will gladly return.
Behesht Restaurant in Montreal is a great spot for authentic Iranian cuisine. The food, service, & prices are all excellent, making it a perfect choice for anyone craving Persian flavors. We ordered the Toranj platter for two, which was beautifully presented & came with a generous variety of four kebabs: koobideh (ground beef), chicken koobideh, chicken kebab, & barg kebab. It also included two plates of fragrant saffron rice & a choice of salad or soup, making it a hearty & satisfying meal. To complement our meal, we tried their yogurt with moosir (Persian shallots) & marinated olives, which were absolutely delicious & added a lovely touch of traditional flavors to the experience. The portions were generous, the kebabs were perfectly grilled, & everything was seasoned to perfection. The restaurant has a cozy & welcoming atmosphere, & the service was attentive & friendly throughout. For the quality of the food & the portion sizes, the prices were very reasonable. Behesht is definitely a must-visit for fans of Iranian cuisine or anyone looking to try something new.
The Persian cuisine offered here is of exceptional quality, & the service provided is outstanding.
We visited this place on Saturday Thanksgiving weekend. We were visiting from Vancouver. Overall good quality Kabob however size of the Kabobs were slightly smaller than usual. Good service & atmosphere.
The quality of the food has really gone down compared to the early days of this restaurant. They're using the lowest quality rice, & the rice served is really tasteless. The kebab skewers have also gotten thinner every time I've come
Fantastic restaurant with a cozy atmosphere & delicious food. The quality of the dishes was exceptional, & the service was fast & friendly. Everything was perfect, & I highly recommend this place to others.
The quality of koobideh kebab was so bad & the rice was awful. The rest was good.
On a particularly cold night, We found ourselves seeking warmth & comfort at Behesht, an Iranian restaurant that came highly recommended by locals. Nestled away in an unassuming location, this place truly lives up to its reputation as a hidden gem. The evening began with the Soup of the Day - a hearty Lentil soup that was the perfect remedy for the chill outside. Accompanied by a side of Marinated Olives, the meal started on a high note. The flavors were robust, reminiscent of home-cooked meals that soothe the soul. For the main course, we ordered two plates of Koobideh & Ghormeh Sabzi. The Koobideh, a traditional grilled ground meat dish, was tender & seasoned to perfection. The Ghormeh Sabzi, a fragrant herb stew with tender chunks of meat & beans, was equally delightful. Both dishes were served in generous portions, easily enough to satisfy the appetites of four adults. The pricing at Behesht is reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes & the quality of the food. It's clear that this restaurant prioritizes authenticity & a home-style cooking approach, making it a perfect spot for anyone craving traditional Iranian flavors. Despite its somewhat hidden location, Behesht is a treasure waiting to be discovered. The overall experience was highly positive, & I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a comforting & satisfying meal.
This restaurant is definitely a 5 out of 5!! We ordered so many things to try the quality & they were all perfectly delicious!! The appetizers were so good!! Omg…the zeytoon parvardeh & Kashke bademjan were incredible. You should definitely give it a try!! The atmosphere was also really nice & we enjoyed spending our time there:))
Highly recommend this restaurant if you wanna try the best Persian food ever! Try Behesht & you'll be surprised by its quality.
This place definitely has hygiene problems. I live in Toronto, & on my way back from Quebec, when I was feeling a bit under the weather, I searched for a Persian restaurant to have some soup. I saw the ratings & thought, "Yeah, this is where we should go." My family, who was visiting Canada, was with me. When we went to wash our hands, a rat ran into the washroom! I screamed & left immediately. I'm not even sure if they actually took care of the rat, though they claimed they did. My mistake was staying there after seeing it, but I wasn't feeling well enough to search for another place. The food quality was mediocre at best. Overall, this was one of the worst Persian restaurants I've ever been to.
Absolutely love this restaurant! Delicious & authentic Persian food that's always consistent & great quality. My husband & I's favourite Persian restaurant in the city.
I recently dined at Behesht restaurant & had a mixed experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Iranian-style main courses, which were impressive. The menu has several delicious side options, adding to the overall appeal. I tried their kebabs (a combination of different types) which ranged from good to average in taste. The salad was fresh & good, but the rice was a bit disappointing as it wasn't prepared very well. The bread, unfortunately, was not fresh & had a sweet taste that I did not enjoy. (Their olive side dish was my favorite part, well balanced & tasted kind of smooth). I didn't notice ( & didn't ask) any alcoholic beverages, but I saw some people smoking hookah ( outdoor sitting area) The restaurant's ambiance was pleasant with nice decorations, & it was clean. Free parking spaces were available, which was convenient. The servers were polite & nice, but the overall service was slow. Their prices were fine, not expensive, nor cheap. Despite some shortcomings, the overall quality of the food & dining experience was good.
Good quality Clean area Great Customer care Tasty food Fare prices I really enjoyed & it was one of best restaurants I ever tried in Canada
