Very disappointing experience. The chicken tasted exactly like fish & was not baked properly at all. The lettuce was old & wilted. There was basically nothing in the burger, no sauce, no flavor.
The fries were awful. I paid an extra $3 for truffle & parmesan, & they tasted exactly like normal fries, no truffle flavor whatsoever.
Packaging was very basic, nothing special for Baton Rouge, especially considering the price. Definitely not worth what I paid.
Came for lunch. They are currently running lunch specials 7 days a week. Food was good especially the ribs. Burgers were mid, fries were cold ( shoestring fries are difficult , order them extra crisp & they will come hot)
My family & I found this restaurant in an online search. It attracted our eye with the variety of foods offered, & it had something everybody could enjoy. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately & sat. Our server came over a few minutes later & asked us for drink selections, & they were received in less than 5 minutes. I ate a hamburger, my wife ordered chicken with rice pilaf, my son had the rack of ribs, & my daughter ordered a salad. Everything came with generous portions & tasted great. My son's ribs fell off the bone, & my burger was perfect. Everything was flavorful & hot upon given to us. I felt the pricing was very fair as the most expensive dinner was my son's ribs at $30, which is very fair for the product served.
Our server was great, the atmosphere was perfect with lower lighting, & it was not loud at all. I enjoyed the fact that it was a casual restaurant, but the staff dressed very nicely & gave outstanding customer service. It made you feel like you were at a higher end establishment with good food, service, & prices. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, it won't disappoint!
You can't go wrong at this Baton Rouge restaurant. With an extensive menu, from salads to lobster & steak, customers will get excellent quality no matter what is ordered.
But if you want me to recommend something... you can't go wrong with their amazing ribs. They are, by far, the best in the city.
If you decide to sit at the bar, you can enjoy a smaller rib portion, but you can also enjoy their delicious, juicy, fully loaded burger & fries.
Lots of parking & easily accessible by subway.
A great option for good food.
Food was okay even when they didnt make their spicy burger spicy ( they forgot ). Service was terrible, they didn't bring tishu, fork, spoon, so we had to ask them.Atmosphere was nice tho. I personally wont be coming back.
I got a burger with an aperol spritz
The burger & the fries were disappointing. But the portions are huge.
Very mediocre! Been in Baton Rouge for the second time, tried their filet mignon & New Yorker steak. Both times I was underwhelmed. Can't say it was terrible but it wasn't good. Wouldn't recommend it for vegetarians as well, my friend couldn't find many options & they removed vegetarian burger. Overall, the place is very loud, doesn't feel like a restaurant more like a pub.
Lower priced option for a Lunch steak. It's been consistently good actually for the Steak Frite which comes with healthy helping of fries of Garlic Mash. It's not my first choice for a great SUPPER steak, BUT, at lunch, for a reasonable price, it is a good option. Also had their ribs & burgers there & they don't disapoint. Also had a few selections of soups which are Harty & very good tasting. Always leave there satisfied.
Their steak & signature Rogue burger was the best topple it up with Red Bull fizz
- soft drink without ice, dirty glass & weird taste - I asked for a well-cooked burger & they bring us a burger with raw meat - the waiter made a mistake on our order - I had a bad experience today
Hadn't been here since the renovations. Was impressed the the newer & cleaner appearance as the old decor was in need of a renovation. Service was friendly & super quick. Food in the past was very good but through the years, they made many mistakes by getting rid of items I enjoyed like the marinated pork chop. Their portion size had also been reduced to the dismay of clientele as the prices didn't reflect LESS food. The burger was delicious & a great value at $16 in the bar area. Hopefully this trend of good value will continue.
I'm writing this review not only about one time I've been there but two times I was there. Just from the first sentence you should consider this place when visiting Montréal or even if you're a resident. The reason is that when I'm on vacation I don't like going to the same restaurant twice because I've already been there & I prefer to find another place to explore more. Which brings me to the review itself. The staff at Bâton Rouge is really kind & understanding. They make sure to understand exactly what you want instead of assuming & ordering something you don't want. The reason I say this is because in a couple places I've been the server wasn't very kind & assumed our orders. But now onto the food. The first time I went I got myself their standard burger which I believe was named "Bâton Rouge Burger" but I could be wrong, I asked for no bacon on it because I've had a few bad experiences with bacon burgers. But bacon or no bacon I think the burger was amazing, honestly it was like an actual burger not like those from ©McDonalds or any other burger place. The second time I had a Ribeye steak & let me tell you, it was great. The steak was done medium well & turned out perfect with a hint of pink in the middle just as I expected, the surface was also dark brown just as it's supposed to be. I recommend getting the Ribeye when coming, they really care about what the quality of the food is. I really enjoyed my time at Bâton Rouge & I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
Service was great, food for the most part was also very good , however burger was slightly dry & spicy bbq sauce was just bbq sauce or I would give 5 stars
Ordered a chicken burger & expected an actual burger & all I got was a chicken strip that took up half the bun. Not impressed at all. What a waste of 22$.
