Had a bad experience at another Baton Rouge, & decided to give it another shot. My parents & I went for happy hour only to sit down, order drinks & then be told happy hour is only if you sit at the bar….would have been nice if someone told us before. The food also came out ridiculously fast which is also concerning. The food itself was fine. Although the dessert was not at all how it was pictured. Disappointed overall for the price.

Very Dissapointed!
My wife, my daughter & I decided to travel from Laval to Baton Rouge at Complexe Desjardins on New Year's Eve by public transit. We finally tried the new Rem & walked the whole underground to get to Baton Rouge before 6pm to enjoy their happy hour. Welll, unfortunately, after being seated in the dining room at 5:25pm, we were told only the bar area gets the happy hour. & of course now there was no seats available in bar area. Ironic that just 2 months ago we were served happy hour drinks in the dining area at Baton Rouge in Anjou. Then comes the menu, we were so excited to try their famous chicken tenders but for some reason, it wasn't on their menu. They also didn't have the chicken sandwich, nor the chicken burger. Many things that were on their website menu (checked before we left) was missing on the menu. Besides that, we were astonished on how we just ordered & yet we got all three plates of food in literally minutes, which is impossible to have cooked meat & burgers that quickly. But yet the burger was cold & mashed potatoes were warm. Something just doesn't add up. Must of been precooked. It tasted like it also.
& finally comes the dessert, which sure didn't look like the photos on the menu. The apple pecane dessert was totally different from the pics. Especially the choco espresso tarte which was still frozen when we got it. That wasn't a light creamy mousse. It was hard like a rock.
It sure was a memorable New Year's Eve dinner!
Wanted to try this place again with my friends, see if the service improved over the years & If I could I'd give zero stars the service is incredibly slow waited around 20 minutes just for the server to show up & another 20 for him to take the order when the food came not only was it burnt but also cold I mean cmon people are paying & yall serve prison food here or what it's not a McDonald & even McDonald's serves hot food. Food was completely cold burnt & unedible. With food & drinks the total was way too high for the quality of service & food we received. Atmosphere of your typical sports bar nothing more. My question is how do yall have the audacity to serve this to clients for this price. Will not be coming back here truly disappointing experience.
My husband & I were in Montreal for our 35th Anniversary & happened upon Baton Rouge while in the mall. We checked out the menu & decided to walk back over for dinner. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to our table. Our server came by very shortly after & took our drink orders. We decided on our orders & they were served in short order. I had the salmon & wild rice with green & yellow beans. There was no shortage of food on my plate! My husband had a steak, fries & green & yellow beans, with a side of sizzling hot mushrooms. His plate was also full. All of our food was piping hot, perfectly cooked & delicious! We both ate every bite! The restaurant itself was clean, tastefully decorated & busy for a Wednesday evening. If we are ever in Montreal again, Baton Rouge would definitely be on our list of places to dine.
So, this is the second time I visited Baton Rouge Restaurant at Complex Desjardins as per the
Owner's suggestion. From Owner,'We hope to see you soon so that we can serve you better.'
I was with my husband & it was his first time back since the closure.
We sat in the Bar area at a booth. I hate to say it but again it took a little while for of us to get our drinks & then our food but we enjoyed our drinks while we waited.
We did not get an entrée & we both ordered Rib Steaks. He requested his steak be well done & burnt to a crisp & I requested mine medium well. Then we both ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. We also ordered one Skillet Mushrooms & one Signature Peppercorn Sauce.
Then came the food & just by looking at his steak we could tell that it was not well & as he cut into it, there was some pink. Then I cut into mine & it looked even pinker than his.
I made the suggestion to him that he should send it back & he said he would see if other parts of it was cooked better. Well, I sent mine back & it took a while he was finished his Garlic Mashed by the time I got my steak back. He said his steak upon examination was not better when he cut into it elsewhere. So again, I made the suggestion he should send it back but he refused on the grounds that it took me so long to get mine back.
I had eaten my vegetables & set up my bake potato because I had the toppings on the side when I decided to send my steak back.
When my plate came back to the table I had more vegetables, a fully loaded baked potato & I don't know how but an even rarer steak than before. The only way I think that could have happened is they cooked me another steak. Cutting into it there was blood on the plate. Also, the fact that I got a fully loaded baked potato shows that the kitchen staff did not pay attention to the original order.
I have question: How is a pepper corn sauce salty as it is made with pepper ? The Signature Peppercorn Sauce was really salty. Just another issue.
We were both so upset & disappointed. It ruined our celebration & a night out. We did not order dessert & wanted to leave as soon as we could.
We will think hard about going back to this restaurant again. This was strike two.
Oh, so I did take the Owner's suggestion & try the restaurant again but to no avail it was worse than the first time.
Stopped here for dinner. Hostess was good. Food & drinks were good. Lots of TVs. Unfortunately, our waiter, Jason, was subpar. He didn't listen to our order & got it incorrect. He never checked in on us after getting our food. Never asked if we wanted to order more drinks-which we did-& our water glasses were often empty. We wanted dessert but he never came back so we just asked for the check. Waited 20 minutes for our check & had to ask multiple times for a to go box. In fact, I had to walk up to him after & get it after asking for it twice. Great place but the poor service definitely detracted from our experience. We will not return & recommend only if you have a different server.

This was my 1st time visiting Montreal. Fred immediately came over & made me feel extremely welcomed! Food was fantastic, Santa Fe Chicken, ribs & potato soup were all amazing. Connor made wonderful drinks & my server Phil was super awesome 🤩 Thank you for a beautiful experience!
Fantastic place! Marco Oliver was our server. He was sooo awesome 🤩 Food was incredible..... 6 of us, sat on the patio, & had a glorious lunch. Everyone's food was great! Drinks were incredible too 😁
I usually like the baton rouge restaurant. Pat, the service was terrible & the food was just mediocre. We got our food before our drinks (which weren't the drinks that were advertised) & then felt very rushed even though it wasn't busy. Definitely not worth the price.
I ordered a pitcher of sangria & the food. You would think that they will bring the sangria first before the food. We waited & all of sudden the food arrived & not the sangria. I asked to cancel the order of sangria & just bring water. They ended up doing us a favour & we saved money. Went somewhere else for drinks.

On était chez vous avec un groupe de 6 personnes pour le dinner & vraiment que notre serveur de nom Jeff était bien professionnel, un service à 100% bien expliqué le menu, tout arrive à son moment, on recommande le serveur , la nourriture Excellent & les drinks aussi, on va retourner encore un fois pour le serveur 5 étoile de nom Jeff au Baton Rouge Complexe Dejardins.
Votre serveur était très agréable de bonne humeur bel accueil. Par contre, nous avons du demander 2 fois pour avoir des verres d'eau, l'entrée & le plat principal sont arrivés en même temps. L'entrée de soupe était tout au plus tiède, & les cotes levés étaient un peu sec. De plus, les choix de vins étaient limité plusieurs non dispo ainsi que certains ''Soft drink'' lemoncocco par exemple qui n'était pas non plus disponible. Un peu déçu
Worst service. It's like we were a nuisance. Long wait when we first sat down. No drink order. No checking on us as we ate. Disappearing when we wanted to pay & leave because we didn't want to be there. No help at all. Thanks for making our family of 4 feel so unwelcome to Montreal.
Awesome food & drinks! We were a group of 6, Jean-Baptiste was our server & he was excellent! Excellent location close to Places des Arts! We will definitely be back.
