Food was excellent, the steak was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare, & the side mushrooms were amazing.

The food here is always really good. I personally really enjoy their ribs, but they have good steak also & the baked potatoes are delicious.

This location is quite large so they rarely have any waiting time.

There are so many things to do in the area that it makes it a perfect spot to eat at if you're in the downtown area for a show, shopping, etc.

C'était la première fois que je mangeait dans ce restaurant. J'ai commandé le burger le grand diable. J'ai été vraiment déçue. J'aurais aimé goûter à leur galette de boeuf de première qualité, mais ça goûtait seulement la sauce bbq. Le pain n'est pas cuit, alors il glissait sur la tranche de fromage. C'est la première fois que autant de difficulté à manger un burger & c'est le moins bon que j'ai mangé en restaurant. Les rondelles d'oignons était même froide. Les frites juliennes sont bonnes, sans plus. Pour un repas à 30$, j'aurais été mieux d'aller manger ailleurs. Je ne doute par que leurs assiettes de steak & de côtes levées doivent être bonnes. Mais pour les burger, ce n'est pas l'endroit idéal à mon avis 🤷?♀?

This opinion of for the downtown one we went to on St. Catherine Street.

We normally like to go to Baton Rouge. We always go to the one in Laval, or the one on Jockeys Street in TMR. During supper hour we went to the one on St. Catherine Street since were were down town.

What was disappointing is when we went in to the one on St. Catherine Street was after we were seated it took a very long time till the waiter came to us to take the order. I realize they were sort of busy.

We wanted to order their club sandwich. The waiter told us we cannot order the club sandwich. At the other locations we were never refused to order this type of sandwich at any time we visited for supper. We walked out without ordering anything.

We walked over to the St. Hubert BBQ. The service to get served was faster, & there was no issue to order the club sandwich!

My question is,'Why did Baton Rouge on St. Catherine St. refuse to take an order for a club sandwich?' Very disappointing. At the others we were never refused at any time we ordered. BR is supposed to be a franchised chain. It should be expected they all follow the same menu.

One thing I can say about BR is we like the food. Everything from the ribs to the steaks, salads, & etc are excellent quality. We have been going to BR for many years.

My husband & I were in Montreal for our 35th Anniversary & happened upon Baton Rouge while in the mall. We checked out the menu & decided to walk back over for dinner. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to our table. Our server came by very shortly after & took our drink orders. We decided on our orders & they were served in short order. I had the salmon & wild rice with green & yellow beans. There was no shortage of food on my plate! My husband had a steak, fries & green & yellow beans, with a side of sizzling hot mushrooms. His plate was also full. All of our food was piping hot, perfectly cooked & delicious! We both ate every bite! The restaurant itself was clean, tastefully decorated & busy for a Wednesday evening. If we are ever in Montreal again, Baton Rouge would definitely be on our list of places to dine.

Second time.

Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar

So, this is the second time I visited Baton Rouge Restaurant at Complex Desjardins as per the
Owner's suggestion. From Owner,'We hope to see you soon so that we can serve you better.'

I was with my husband & it was his first time back since the closure.

We sat in the Bar area at a booth. I hate to say it but again it took a little while for of us to get our drinks & then our food but we enjoyed our drinks while we waited.

We did not get an entrée & we both ordered Rib Steaks. He requested his steak be well done & burnt to a crisp & I requested mine medium well. Then we both ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. We also ordered one Skillet Mushrooms & one Signature Peppercorn Sauce.

Then came the food & just by looking at his steak we could tell that it was not well & as he cut into it, there was some pink. Then I cut into mine & it looked even pinker than his.

I made the suggestion to him that he should send it back & he said he would see if other parts of it was cooked better. Well, I sent mine back & it took a while he was finished his Garlic Mashed by the time I got my steak back. He said his steak upon examination was not better when he cut into it elsewhere. So again, I made the suggestion he should send it back but he refused on the grounds that it took me so long to get mine back.

I had eaten my vegetables & set up my bake potato because I had the toppings on the side when I decided to send my steak back.

When my plate came back to the table I had more vegetables, a fully loaded baked potato & I don't know how but an even rarer steak than before. The only way I think that could have happened is they cooked me another steak. Cutting into it there was blood on the plate. Also, the fact that I got a fully loaded baked potato shows that the kitchen staff did not pay attention to the original order.

I have question: How is a pepper corn sauce salty as it is made with pepper ? The Signature Peppercorn Sauce was really salty. Just another issue.

We were both so upset & disappointed. It ruined our celebration & a night out. We did not order dessert & wanted to leave as soon as we could.

We will think hard about going back to this restaurant again. This was strike two.

Oh, so I did take the Owner's suggestion & try the restaurant again but to no avail it was worse than the first time.

The atmosphere was warm & comfortable, & all the staff were both professional & genuinely friendly.
A special thanks to Zoe, who took care of our table. She had such a positive vibe & was incredibly kind - it really made a difference.
Everything from the service to the overall mood felt just right.
& the steak & salad? Simply delicious

Le steak est succulent. Pas donné mais du bon ne l'est jamais. Je me suis pris une salade-repas lors d'une autre visite & le rapport qualité-prix est excellent. Même prix que Saint-Hubert pour 2x mieux en qualité. Décor chaleureux, confortable & service sans faille. Même pu discuter avec le gérant, un belge très sympathique (comme presque tous les belges!) qui nous a donné envie de revenir. Bravo

Don't have the burger, probably stick with the ribs, which is what they are known for. I asked to swap out the swiss for Monterey Jack, burger arrived with no cheese at all. Patty was overcooked & dry af. Edges burned, barely any bbq sauce. If I wasn't famished, would have returned it. We were 5, 2 got plates. 7 min later, other plates arrived. Flank steak was good according to mom but garlic bread is way too basic for the price. Don't know if short staffed as it's pretty much the norm but no one came to refill the wine glasses. Come on BR, up your game! Had not been to Bâton Rouge in over 10yrs. Looks like another 10yrs will pass before I step foot in another BR. Very disappointing...

Ordered the 7oz bavette & they gave me a 4oz skirt steak. They just told me to come back another time to get the prime rib because its bigger & juicier. I don't think so.

I was shocked to receive an ice-cold steak atop my Thai Steak Salad. I was told it was so the lettuce won't wilt. When we order a steak salad, we expect some anyway. Made the steak tought & it had no flavour. Very disappointed. Way too much dressing, too. I know it's a popular place when there are events at Place des Arts so you would think they would lower the music - the people make more than enough noise.

In this place I had the BEST meal of my life the sevice is incredible. I could have not asked for a better experience. The steak was cooked to perfection & the mash patatos were the best I'v ever had.

La serveuse devrais changer de profession. Bon je devrais plutôt dire , à cause de la pénurie de main d'oeuvre , les entreprises engagent n'importe qui. La bouffe aussi était plutôt degeulasse. Pour le prix c'est franchement rire des gens. Pourtant c'était un bon restaurant avant la rénovation.En plus ce n'était pas chaud notre repas. La serveuse m'a répondu qu'elle ne peux pas avoir essayé tout les vins pour m'en suggérer un en particulier. La patate au four sèche & froide était de la même grosseur que le steak tiède. Serveuse avec un faux sourire , il était à peine midi . C'est vraiment plate comme expérience client

Dear Management Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. As a customer, I had high expectations for the dining experience, & unfortunately, these expectations were not met. Firstly, I was disappointed by the inconsistent timing of the food delivery. Despite being part of a group of five people, our dishes arrived at the table with a significant delay between each serving. This resulted in some members of our party having to wait while others began their meals, leading to a less enjoyable dining experience overall. Furthermore, I ordered my steak cooked to medium-well & emphasized the importance of it being closer to well-done. However, when the dish arrived, the meat was significantly undercooked, resembling rare rather than the desired doneness. As someone who has a background in the culinary industry, I understand the importance of precise cooking techniques & was disappointed by this oversight. I believe that proper training & attention to detail are essential for delivering excellent service in a restaurant setting. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously & address the issues mentioned to ensure that future customers have a more satisfactory experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
