Had a bad experience at another Baton Rouge, & decided to give it another shot. My parents & I went for happy hour only to sit down, order drinks & then be told happy hour is only if you sit at the bar….would have been nice if someone told us before. The food also came out ridiculously fast which is also concerning. The food itself was fine. Although the dessert was not at all how it was pictured. Disappointed overall for the price.

My wife, my daughter & I decided to travel from Laval to Baton Rouge at Complexe Desjardins on New Year's Eve by public transit. We finally tried the new Rem & walked the whole underground to get to Baton Rouge before 6pm to enjoy their happy hour. Welll, unfortunately, after being seated in the dining room at 5:25pm, we were told only the bar area gets the happy hour. & of course now there was no seats available in bar area. Ironic that just 2 months ago we were served happy hour drinks in the dining area at Baton Rouge in Anjou. Then comes the menu, we were so excited to try their famous chicken tenders but for some reason, it wasn't on their menu. They also didn't have the chicken sandwich, nor the chicken burger. Many things that were on their website menu (checked before we left) was missing on the menu. Besides that, we were astonished on how we just ordered & yet we got all three plates of food in literally minutes, which is impossible to have cooked meat & burgers that quickly. But yet the burger was cold & mashed potatoes were warm. Something just doesn't add up. Must of been precooked. It tasted like it also.
& finally comes the dessert, which sure didn't look like the photos on the menu. The apple pecane dessert was totally different from the pics. Especially the choco espresso tarte which was still frozen when we got it. That wasn't a light creamy mousse. It was hard like a rock.
It sure was a memorable New Year's Eve dinner!
On mange assez souvent là avec mes collègues de bureau & on passe toujours un bon moment.
Le 16 octobre dernier, nous avons eu un des meilleurs service client.
Ma collègue a simplement mentionné que c'était sa fête dans la conversation & vous lui avez offert le dessert.
Elle n'a pas aimé la soupe qu'elle a commandé, non seulement vous lui avez changée, mais en plus vous ne l'avez pas facturée.
Vu comme le service client disparaît de plus en plus, vous avez marqué des points. Évidemment, nous reviendrons.
Ho & nos plats étaient très bons, mais je tenais surtout à souligner la qualité du service.

Second time.
Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar
So, this is the second time I visited Baton Rouge Restaurant at Complex Desjardins as per the
Owner's suggestion. From Owner,'We hope to see you soon so that we can serve you better.'
I was with my husband & it was his first time back since the closure.
We sat in the Bar area at a booth. I hate to say it but again it took a little while for of us to get our drinks & then our food but we enjoyed our drinks while we waited.
We did not get an entrée & we both ordered Rib Steaks. He requested his steak be well done & burnt to a crisp & I requested mine medium well. Then we both ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. We also ordered one Skillet Mushrooms & one Signature Peppercorn Sauce.
Then came the food & just by looking at his steak we could tell that it was not well & as he cut into it, there was some pink. Then I cut into mine & it looked even pinker than his.
I made the suggestion to him that he should send it back & he said he would see if other parts of it was cooked better. Well, I sent mine back & it took a while he was finished his Garlic Mashed by the time I got my steak back. He said his steak upon examination was not better when he cut into it elsewhere. So again, I made the suggestion he should send it back but he refused on the grounds that it took me so long to get mine back.
I had eaten my vegetables & set up my bake potato because I had the toppings on the side when I decided to send my steak back.
When my plate came back to the table I had more vegetables, a fully loaded baked potato & I don't know how but an even rarer steak than before. The only way I think that could have happened is they cooked me another steak. Cutting into it there was blood on the plate. Also, the fact that I got a fully loaded baked potato shows that the kitchen staff did not pay attention to the original order.
I have question: How is a pepper corn sauce salty as it is made with pepper ? The Signature Peppercorn Sauce was really salty. Just another issue.
We were both so upset & disappointed. It ruined our celebration & a night out. We did not order dessert & wanted to leave as soon as we could.
We will think hard about going back to this restaurant again. This was strike two.
Oh, so I did take the Owner's suggestion & try the restaurant again but to no avail it was worse than the first time.
Stopped here for dinner. Hostess was good. Food & drinks were good. Lots of TVs. Unfortunately, our waiter, Jason, was subpar. He didn't listen to our order & got it incorrect. He never checked in on us after getting our food. Never asked if we wanted to order more drinks-which we did-& our water glasses were often empty. We wanted dessert but he never came back so we just asked for the check. Waited 20 minutes for our check & had to ask multiple times for a to go box. In fact, I had to walk up to him after & get it after asking for it twice. Great place but the poor service definitely detracted from our experience. We will not return & recommend only if you have a different server.
Fun spot to go eat & hang in the afternoon or evening when hungry. Price is median, good for what is served. However salads should come in two sizes as my mother's plate was way too huge for her to finish. Dessert was alright but the brioche wasn't warm & was a bit dry. Overall though very yummy, very wonderful service, & a good selection for bar & grill type of cuisine.
We can say this was the last time we will ever dine at Baton Rouge. Not the same quality of food or service from years ago, a big disappointment. We have special memories at this restaurant for over 20 years. Everything has declined. The staff are inconvenienced by serving customers, resolving issues & answering questions. This is obviously management problem. When asked to check the balance of a gift card, everyone said ask someone else, finally the waiter said he will do that only at the end before we pay. Obviously he didn't want us to spend it all prehaps he hoped to receive the entire excess of the meal as a tip. Appetizers are served without personal appetizer plates-is there a shortage of dishware? For these prices why does it feel like a cafeteria? The ribs are burnt, hard & dried out, not as moist as they used to be. Our waiter would forget to bring the order & wonder why we are looking at him from across the restaurant. He served glasses of lukewarm water & never refilled our water glasses once during the entire meal. When ordering dessert, we are told that they don't serve hot tea right now, don't offer decaf coffee options & they were out of what we ordered-the apple crumble.
Nous y sommes allés un dimanche midi, 3 adultes & 3 enfants (entre 4 & 9 ans). Peu de monde dans cet immense resto mais parfait justement pour ne pas être collés les uns aux autres & ainsi pouvoir parler tranquillement. Nous nous sommes régalés aussi bien sûr les apéros, les plats & desserts. Le menu enfant (moins de 12 ans) est très copieux & a l'avantage de pouvoir adapter le plat (le prix donc aussi). Le service était impeccable, le serveur cool. Niveau tarif c'est raisonnable. Nous avons goûté les ribs & le plat du jour (22$ hors taxe) qui était des raviolis aux homards sauce a l'oeuf. Nous étions tous très contents. Les desserts testés étaient carotte cake, cheese cake & crème brûlée, pareil que nous avons tous adorés.A refaire en famille ou entre amis.
Sat in the Bar hoping to catch the Canadiens Hockey game...very limited Screen Visibility? Gave up & just watched on our phones 🤷♀️. Food...French Onion Soup, burnt? Beef Dip & Sweet Potatoes Fries was Delish! Had desserts...see photos 😍!

The black cod dish was underdone & poorly cooked, but the free dessert cake & coffee given as compensation were good. There was far too much bread in the french onion soup; there was almost no broth. Having the residual sugar content of the wines listed on the menu was a very good idea.

Déçu qu'il n'y ait pas de mocktail sans pétillant. Vu annoncer le dessert forêt noir & il n'y en avait pas.
Food was very good! The lady that served was just superrre nice! Wish i would asked her name! & the pretzel dessert! You need to try it 😊

N'avons pas reçu l'entrée commandée ainsi que le mauvais dessert à été servi. Cependant la nourriture était bonne er de bonne portion.

Réservation respecté, accueil, service, entré & dessert 10 / 10 mais le plat principal, côte levée poulet & crevettes avec pomme de terre toute garnie, la pomme de terre datait sûrement de la veille
