Incredible!! We had such a delicious dinner, great service & ambiance. Our waiter recommended a delicious wine that paired perfectly with the meal. We had the daikon & burratina as an appetizer, & the truffle Parmesan mazemen as a main. For dessert we tried the yuzu cheesecake & it was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
Made a reservation, thinking that having ramen on a rainy night would do the trick.
But then, on a whim, threw caution to the wind, went for the chef's choice tasting menu & delighted over every dish served. I'm still thinking about how tasty the heirloom tomatoes starter, salmon oshizushi, truffle mazemen & matcha-chocolate layered cake were.
The service was great - just the right amount of attentiveness & warmth that set the tone for dinner with a dear friend & made for the perfect setting to catch up, dine & drink well.
Looking forward to an excuse to re-visit in the hopes that I remember to take photos -we were immediately intrigued by the visually stunning dishes & went for each one the second after we fawned over the plating.
Colour us pleasantly surprised!
My experience at Bar Otto was fabulous. Incredibly fresh ingredients & the service was phenomenal. I found the price to ratio for the Wagyu & Toro not fabulous compared to say Nozy but overall still incredibly tasty. The soft shell crab Bao & the salmon Oshizushi were clear winners. The duck Mazemen was bland.
Another great address in Notre Dame! The menu is very rich so its definitely a good place to order different items & share. My favourite thing was the mushrooms mazemen.
Great food, the Burratina Daikon is a dish that you'll remember for a long time. Additionally the duck mazemen did not disappoint, I wish they had this at their cathcart location too
A cozy spot perfect for a casual night out. We went in on a weekday without a reservation, & there was no wait at all. Highly recommend their drinks, sashimi, & nigiri. The ramen & mazemen were okay. The staff were incredibly friendly & attentive. Fast service
very intimate vibes, great for a date. I really enjoyed the soft shell crab bun & the mazemen. would recommend getting a reservation instead of walking in.
Was looking forward to this meal since last week due to the good reviews. Not sure how they got them or maybe it was just a bad day for me at the restaurant. Totally overhyped. My duck confit mazemen was bland, super tasteless like they had forgotten the salt? A friend had the otto ramen, & it was the same -bland soup. Only saving grace was the truffle mazemen due to the truffle taste. All three were lacking flavours. Quite disappointing. 2 stars saving grace for the duck. Was alright. Had better. Try this place if you're in for a non authentic japanese mazemen experience.
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants with both fresh sushi/sashimi as well as mazemen noddles. It also accommodates for vegeteiran options as well. They also have a great drinks & sake. Last but definitely not least, their staff is incredibly kind & even accommodates children & infants. For budget friendly options, they have an omasake (chef's choice) from Monday to Wednesay 3 course meal for 45$ which is incredible value (we had lobster & octopus included)
Came here on a date with my wife & enjoyed my time here. While it's not a restaurant I'm exactly willing to drive out of way for, I'm still very happy to have tried it. We ordered the hand rolls, the salmon baos & the mazemen. Everything tasted delicious, but I thought everything was either too small of a portion or way too expensive. My favorite dish was the salmon Bao, which come in a set of 2. The flavors complimented eachother really nicely & the bun was homemade fresh, which you can taste right away. The hand rolls are good, but was way too expensive. The noodles we got as the main dish were very good, though a bit on the oily side. The whole thing was $120 after tax & we didn't order any drinks.
