As soon as I walked in the waiters were extremely awkward & made me feel like an idiot. Which I guess I was for spending my money there. My friends & I ordered the cauliflower entrée, the veggies, fries & the Caesar salad, plus drinks. Drinks were fine, fries were ok, but the cauliflower tasted too much of vinegar. The veggie plate was a horrendous letdown. The menu was unclear & our waitress did not tell us what the'veggie of the day was', so I ended up paying 9$ for a few long peppers. Saddest thing ever. When I told one waiter it was not what I expected, he kind of just shrugged it off & didn't offer an alternative or take away the accursed plate I did not want to eat. I expressed my disappointment to the waitress at the end, who didn't show me any special courtesy either. But the worst part of our meal was the Caesar salad, which ended up giving my friend diarrhea within minutes after we left. Because the waitress hovered over me as I paid, I ended up tipping her even though I had received terrible service. The only positive thing was the atmosphere. Love the vintage look of the place, but the food is a waste of money & the waiters just don't know how to treat customers with respect. Sadly a reoccurring theme with Gen Z employees.
The service was great & the food came out super fast.
I highly recommend the salmon plate! The side potatoes were really good too.
The ambiance is very nice with good music.
We stopped here late at night for a snack & a cocktail, & both were lovely. The vibe is very cozy. We sat outside under the lights & it felt so romantic - such a nice little spot for a late-night stop. ✨
Great service, solid food & phenomenal prices. Will definitely be back. Excited to see what they're going to do with the upstairs space as well
Great spot to meets up with long lost friends on a Saturday, for a coffee & a bottle!
I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I honestly couldn't understand why this place is so highly rated. The service was fine, but the food was really inconsistent. Between the four of us, it was hit or miss (mostly miss for 3/4 of us) - one friend enjoyed her cilbir, but another's'crispy' French toast was mushy. The homemade fries that came with both my plate & another friend's sage eggs were cold & mushy, & tasted like they'd been sitting out, & her egg was burnt. Overall, everything felt a bit pre-prepared rather than freshly made - disappointing for the price.
The service here is consistently awful, which is frustrating because the food itself is actually good. I gave this place four chances, but the experience only got worse each time. Sadly, I won't be back. The service staff's behavior feels disrespectful-not just to customers, but also to the cooks who clearly care about the food.
Best shakshuka I've had in Montreal. Incredibly tasty merguez & fragrant tomato sauce. Lovely service & atmosphere. A definite brunch gem!
if you're in the greater montreal area you'll be KICKING yourself for not coming to this one of a kind culinary explosive experience, yes explosive with joy & good times all around fr fr. literally no cap. I'd like to give a shoutout to my waiter Rachel who filled my visit with fantastic service & funny, light hearted jokes. to say she knows what she's doing behind the bar would be an understatement. 5/5 would recommend again, again & again a 3rd time
Lovely atmosphere, killer brunch, evidently under staffed for the size of the restaurant but very friendly people & accommodating.
The naan breakfast sandwich is underrated… It will completely change your life. The staff is so cool & nice.
Food was delicious but the portions were quite small compared to price. We were actually a little disappointed when they brought the plates. We were there for the brunch.
Best brunch in the mile end... sorry Larry.... I ordered the Turkish eggs & went back the next day for the Zaatar breakfast sandwich, the ingredients are so fresh & flavourful. It was like living on a homestead & taking all the food from the garden & creating something so so delicious. I've been to a few brunch places in the mile end & nothing compares to Le Bar Sparrow. It's beautifully curated in it's design. If I lived in Montreal this place would rob me $. I can't wait to go back, it'll next time MTL, & THANK YOU
Le brunch du Sparrow est vraiment bon! Je fonds pour leur latté à la lavande 💜
Cilbir.
Bonne ambiance/belle déco, service impeccable, très bon :)
