Review Summary

Bar Le Sparrow is described as a lively, well designed spot with a friendly service and a brunch focused menu that many find affordable and delicious, with standout dishes like shakshuka, merguez, Turkish eggs, and a naan breakfast sandwich, plus a fragrant cardamom latte. Reviewers highlight the welcoming atmosphere, the terrace, and the overall vibe as major positives, making it a good spot to meet up with friends. Some feedback points to inconsistency in food preparation, with reports of cold fries, burnt eggs, or dishes that feel pre prepared, and a few mentions of slow or under staffed service detracting from the experience. Overall the sentiment suggests Bar Le Sparrow offers strong flavors and a memorable brunch atmosphere that keeps people coming back despite the occasional hiccup.

Awful service & overpriced, disappointing food. As soon as I walked in the waiters were extremely awkward & made me feel like an idiot. Which I guess I was for spending my money there. My friends & I ordered the cauliflower entrée, the veggies, fries & the Caesar salad, plus drinks. Drinks were fine, fries were ok, but the cauliflower tasted too much of vinegar. The veggie plate was a horrendous letdown. The menu was unclear & our waitress did not tell us what the'veggie of the day was', so I ended up paying 9$ for a few long peppers. Saddest thing ever. When I told one waiter it was not what I expected, he kind of just shrugged it off & didn't offer an alternative or take away the accursed plate I did not want to eat. I expressed my disappointment to the waitress at the end, who didn't show me any special courtesy either. But the worst part of our meal was the Caesar salad, which ended up giving my friend diarrhea within minutes after we left. Because the waitress hovered over me as I paid, I ended up tipping her even though I had received terrible service. The only positive thing was the atmosphere. Love the vintage look of the place, but the food is a waste of money & the waiters just don't know how to treat customers with respect. Sadly a reoccurring theme with Gen Z employees.

Would have been a higher rating if not for the service. Small tables on the patio & when reordering drinks, the empty glasses just amass on the table. The waitress spilled the salad when serving, promissed to clean & vanished. So, very disorganized & in the end a mixed bag of feelings

One of the highlight’s to our trip! Orange wine was delicious but the gnocchi was out of the world fantastic. The focaccia & salad was amazing as well! I would eat here every week if i lived in Montreal! Merci tres beaucoup!

Sparrow is a delightful casual restaurant on St. Laurent Blvd (just north of Fairmount), in an area with a number of other eateries. The ambiance is dark wood interiors with a bohemian flair with a super size street facing window...so that the restaurant is both dark & light at the same time. Seating is mostly at tables but there are a few bench side options as well as the window abutting coach (low to the ground but a very chill place to chat & snack).

We had a weekend brunch...enjoying the scones & jam (surprisingly very good, the scone was served warm with a nice helping of devon cream...but the strawberry jam could have been better), the Fried Egg with Sage (very good), the Belgian Waffle (excellent although the portion was a touch too small) & a Green Salad (very good but simple). We also enjoyed some nice coffees & smoothies.

Service was very attentive & friendly adding to the experience. On the late Saturday morning we visited, there were a large number of young family with kids just finishing up, so this appears to be a great place for an early breakfast for the young ones. Enjoy!
