So glad we were able to get reservations somewhat last minute, as this was our best meal in Montreal.
My 14-year old son & I had such a great time & our waiter (I forgot her name) helped us make some great choices for dinner in the Duck Temaki, Canned Duck, & Stuffed Guinnea Hen.
I can't speak to the dessert as we had no room left to enjoy it with, but will be more mindful next time.
Another bonus was they had Cantillon available, which we can't get in the US, so that was an extra welcome surprise for me.
Will undoubtedly be back again next time we are in Montreal!
We enjoyed the food but the service was terrible. Our drink order didn't get taken for 30+ minutes while our server was focusing on two tables next to us. We finally got a drink 45 min after we sat down & ordered our food. 30 min later our flustered server came over to tell us the kitchen never received our food order. He tried to blame to kitchen even though I am sure he never sent the order in. He was not apologetic until I explained how I am in the restaurant biz & have been to PDC many times. I've never experienced anything but excellent service at PDC. We planned our whole trip to MTL around getting this reservation & unfortunately the poor service ruined our experience. Very disappointed.

This place was pretty hyped & we walked into our late dinner being pretty excited we'd managed to score a reservation.
It's entirely possible we came on an off night, but the service was missing so often it started to feel personal.
Food was super rich & like nothing I'd tried before. We were told it was Lumberjack Fine Dining & it definitely lived up to that description.
Overall the experience was pretty mid. Definitely expected more from a restaurant that came with so many recommendations.
In from Halifax, NS & went to Au Pied two days in & row, & both were absolutely incredible! Our server Fred had the best suggestions & wine pairings. Over two days we sampled all of the Foie Gras options, the pork chop, & the duck in a can. We will be back again for round 3 asap!
Table wasn't ready for nearly 40 mins after our reservation time & service took ages (2.5 hours to have 2 courses). We felt ignored compared to the other parties seated near us, & we had to ask every time we needed anything (except water - the bus boy was the most efficient & attentive member of staff). Generally felt chaotic & badly managed.

Literally, the best meal we have ever had. Absolutely stunning restaurant with top tier service. The staff are phenomenal & extremely knowledgeable. The food will bring you to a point of pure euphoria. I danced in my seat the whole meal because I was so elated. Every bite left you weak in the knees. What an experience. Undoubtedly, one that will not be topped.

Le vin commandé est arrivé 30 minutes plus tard sur notre table sous prétexte qu'il n'était pas froid. L'expérience a donc mal commencé.
Les toilettes !!! Drôle d'idée de les placer dans le bar, j'étais mal à l'aise d'y aller... En plus, la lunette n'était pas baissée & l'urine de l'utilisateur précédent y était toujours: beurk !
