Fantastic. 2nd time this year....made a special trip to Montreal just to dine with you
You set the bar very high for others...
Thank you & Happy New Year!
Sit at the bar & watch the magic/action! Amazing staff, food & atmosphere!
The waitress Melina ( I could be misspelling her name) was just amazing. Super friendly, explained everything in details, went over options, made recommendations for new comers , clearly wasn't looking to just sell us the most expensive thing but wanted to make sure me & my girlfriend have the best experience.
Simply amazing
This is a highly recommended must try place in Montreal & i'm definitely glad we tried it! We had the foie gras poutine, the canned duck & the aged pork chop.
The aged pork chop was definitely my favorite as the meat was soft & tender!
A wonderful traditional cuisine. I felt the hospitality of the staff, despite the fact that much of the menu is unfriendly to people who only speak English. Although I couldn‘t understand the French being spoken, I was very happy with the food I ate tonight! The first course was foie gras, pan-fried to perfection with a hint of attractive pink in the center, the sauce had the flavor of maple syrup & some gravy, & the toast underneath was drenched in sauce without losing the aroma of the Mélard reaction. Cheese is very high quality & the apple flavor is really refreshing. The cooked pork chop was so perfect! The leaner parts were also very tender, & the fatty parts were delightful in the mouth! & the cooked pork chops had a very strong pork flavor without a hint of the fishy pig smell. The mushrooms on the outside gave the pork chop a nice flavor, & the vegetables underneath were also very tasty. The pouding chômeur was very tasty! The flavors of maple & caramel & the different states of the bread being moistened were mesmerizing!
The service was absolutely wonderful. However, I've tried this place a few years ago & the food was much better at that time. Our Duck in a Can was extremely tough & the Stuffed Guinea Fowl's skin could have been rendered more.
We are frequenters of this amazing little institution. One of the reasons we moved to Montreal was because of the passion you feel in places like this. There are no words for it. The staff here are a family & you can feel the love they have for their work as soon as you step in the door.
Sitting at the bar in front of the kitchen is an absolute must ! What a show every time ! 🤩👏🏻
Une icône de la cuisine Québécoise & une fierté d'aller me régaler à chaque fois. Le service tres courtois & rapide pour ce genre d'achalandage. On a passé une excellente soirée.View more
We dined at several fantastic restaurants while in Montreal, including Garde Manger & Joe Beef. They were all well worth the price, but Au Pied du Cochon was the place I would visit again, if I could only go to one. The food, atmosphere, & enthusiasm of the staff were by far the best. Our primary server, Nicolas, was knowledgeable & energetic while remaining personable & authentic. We had a memorable, delicious dining experience & would recommend APC to anyone who visits Montreal.View more

The service was quite disappointing & led to an awkward & uncomfortable start to the evening. We had a 9:30 reservation & arrived on time but had to flag down the hostess after waiting in the foyer for 15 minutes to let them know we had arrived. Our seats weren't ready at the bar but we were assured that it would be 5 min. After another 10 min we were offered a table to wait - awkwardly facing the couple in our seats who had no intention of finishing their drinks & leaving. It wasn't until almost an hour after our initial reservation that our seats became available. I understand that no one wants to be rushed but what's the point of the reservation if not honoured - an hour delay & no effort to make things right or make up for the inconvenience just isn't acceptable at this price point. The food is wonderful but not enough to justify coming back with this level of service.
