The Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is where it all began. Passed from one generation to the next, family knowledge contributes to the restaurant's reputation. Constantly evolving, the Pied de Cochon celebrates its 20th anniversary in November 2021. This à la carte restaurant is located in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Authentic to its Quebec and Canadian roots, the dishes are hearty and comforting. Adopting the style from French brasseries, the chef and his team draw inspiration from local and seasonal products to create a timeless menu. With private import wines, beers brewed in Montreal, and signature cocktails, Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is a friendly place where local products are showcased. There is one of the first open kitchens in Montreal where you can see the cooks in action.

DUCK IN A CAN Yes, you heard thay right! Duck in a can. Who knew that'd it'd be so fancy? The Duck is served with butter, sourdough bread & foie gras & it's definitely one of the most delicious things I've ever had! This is a higher end resto only come if ita a special occasion or you have expendable income. Despite what ordered being the duck in a can I found my boyfriend's cassoulet much better because I loooove beans. There is nothing better than beans & meat.View more

We are frequenters of this amazing little institution. One of the reasons we moved to Montreal was because of the passion you feel in places like this. There are no words for it. The staff here are a family & you can feel the love they have for their work as soon as you step in the door. Sitting at the bar in front of the kitchen is an absolute must ! What a show every time ! 🤩👏🏻 Update: we came again for both our birthdays this February & March & had the best nights of our lives ! I even bought my husband the flannel jacket - it's so gorgeous & smells just like the restaurant. Au Pied du Cochon is the best of the best & I love everyone who works there so much !View more

Excellente ambiance & service hors du commun! J'ai rarement vu un restaurant avec autant de personnel. Nous n'avons manqué de rien & tous les employés étaient aux petits soins ! La nourriture est excellente & particulièrement bien apprêtée. Seul petit bémol: toutes les options sont particulièrement gourmandes en termes d'apport en sel ou en gras. J'aurais apprécié une ou deux options moins riches, mais on le sait quand on choisit Le pied de cochon que ça rime avec foie gras & lard! Une expérience à refaire !View more

We are from Boston & went to Montreal for the weekend for my 30th birthday. We had done research & wanted a higher end birthday dinner experience. My fiancé really sold us on the duck in a can plate !! We were a group of 6 made the reservation online for 10:00pm & they close at 11:00pm we got there in perfect time & were worried about going before they closed but it was busy great experience didn't feel rushed at all. We sat in the back next to the wine cellar that was gorgeous.2 of our friends were vegan & only came with us for drinks since the menu is not very vegan friendly but they were prepared to not eatand the chef went above & beyond & custom made them a dish. Our waiter was very attentive & did an amazing job describing the menu & recommendations. He over head us talk that it was my bday & he surprised us with sparklers & birthday song. Since we were one of the last groups they let us play some songs which we did not expect to experience, the vibes were so great all the employees loved our music & we all were just talking & laughing late at night & it was just NEXT LEVELL, the Highlight of our trip was this dinner. I would extremely recommend this restaurant for something new & fresh.View more

This one of my favorite restaurants in the world, & I travel 70,000 km a year. It also was Antony Bourdain's. Since then the menu has expanded to include new scallop, fish & creative Japanese dishes put always keeping the original foie gras & pig dishes that made them famous. Michael, the chef & his team greets his guests as if they were his clients for ever. The vibes, the food & the staff makes this place not to be missed. I love the place RogeView more

Le Tamaki de canard était une délectation pour les papilles, mariant avec subtilité le tartare de canard, la mayonnaise épicée & le nori. Cependant, la véritable révélation de la soirée fut la tarte au boudin, un chef-d'oeuvre gastronomique qui restera gravé dans ma mémoire comme l'un des meilleurs plats que je n'ai jamais dégusté. Chaque composante de ce plat était exécutée avec une précision remarquable, offrant une expérience gustative incomparable. Le pudding chômeur, avec son mariage audacieux de vieux cheddar & de foie gras, a également su captiver mes sens, ajoutant une touche finale raffinée à ce festin mémorable. Le service, orchestré de manière magistrale, révélait une harmonie parfaite entre les membres du personnel, leur coordination semblant presque chorégraphique. Leur professionnalisme & leur dévouement ont grandement contribué à l'excellence de cette expérience culinaire.
