The Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is where it all began. Passed from one generation to the next, family knowledge contributes to the restaurant's reputation. Constantly evolving, the Pied de Cochon celebrates its 20th anniversary in November 2021. This à la carte restaurant is located in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Authentic to its Quebec and Canadian roots, the dishes are hearty and comforting. Adopting the style from French brasseries, the chef and his team draw inspiration from local and seasonal products to create a timeless menu. With private import wines, beers brewed in Montreal, and signature cocktails, Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is a friendly place where local products are showcased. There is one of the first open kitchens in Montreal where you can see the cooks in action.

Nous adorons essayer des restaurants de renom, toutefois cette fois-ci nous avons été incroyablement déçu. Le service était excellent, une très bonne ambiance mais la nourriture était très décevante. Plat tout brun, extrêmement gras. C'est du gras par dessus du gras, par dessus d'autre gras. Rien pour balancer tout ce gras. Aucun accompagnement dans mon assiette & rien de plus léger pour balance cette lourdeur. Nous étions 4 à manger. nous avons tous manger des plats différents pour goûter à tout. Tous étaient décevant & inutilement gras. J'adore le fois gras mais je ne trouve pas qu'il était mis en valeur sous tout ses ingrédients bruns. La plogue, le seul repas qu'on peut dire qui était bon. De plus, les présentations laisse vraiment à désirer. Il y en a tout simplement pas. Se sont des assiettes ternes & non attrayantes. Je voulais découvrir ce restaurant si bien noté mais je n'y retournerais pas & ne le recommanderais pas. Des plats extrêmement cher pour ce que c'est!View more

I have been coming here for over 16 years every time we visit Montreal & never once did the menu failed me or the managers. We have met many managers throughout the time we ate there & they are all so helpful & attentive. Absolutely LOVED the food! I'm so glad we ordered what we did. The foie gras nigiri melts in your mouth & is such a good appetizer. The duck in a can is frickin delicious! I would recommend getting some extra bread on the side to sop up the sauce (that's what I'd do next time!) I also highly recommend the creme caramel. I don't see a lot of places that pair it with a coffee cream, but it works soooo well. Only thing is that the restaurant can be a bit crowded so service can be kind of slow, but the servers themselves are very helpful & friendly. I am 100% coming back next time I'm in Montreal!View more

What an amazing experience. Barely made it off the plane in time to catch dinner, but we were welcomed with opened arms. Treated to some of the best food we've ever had. Particularly enjoyed the Duck in a Can. So much that our server so generously had the can washed for us to take home, along with some extra labels. We were heartbroken to arrive home to find that we had left the can at on the table, after they had taken the time to clean it for us. Thank you so much Au Pied de Cochon, we will return.View more
