Review Summary

Au Coin is praised for a warm, stylish open kitchen vibe and a space that feels cozy yet chic, with delicious pizzas and a strong wine and cocktail program that many reviewers loved, along with breakfast and pastry options that hit the mark. The pizza is repeatedly described as excellent, with some highlighting the sourdough crust and inventive toppings, and the atmosphere and decor are frequently called beautiful and inviting. Service is the main point of contention, with several diners reporting slow or inattentive staff, miscommunications about seating or paying, and moments where staff seemed hard to reach even when the restaurant was busy; despite this, lots of guests say they will definitely return to try more of the menu, including the desserts and the butter trio, and many praise good value for the quality. Overall, Au Coin stands out as a welcoming hub in Mile End where great food, a friendly ambiance, and a thoughtful drinks list accompany a consistently memorable experience, even as the service can vary.

Really loved Au Coin. From the moment you walk in, it has that trendy Montreal buzz - great music, beautiful open kitchen, stylish design, & a warm but lively atmosphere.

The food was excellent. The soft scrambled eggs with ham, cheese, bread, butter & jam felt simple but perfectly done. The yogurt bowl was fresh & beautifully presented, with fruit, granola, honey & chocolate. The potatoes with sauce were rich, crispy & full of flavour, & the salads looked incredibly fresh & generous. Even the coffee was excellent.

What stood out most was the plating & attention to detail - honestly, it was surreal. Nothing felt random. Every dish looked carefully thought out, but still effortless & natural. The service had the same feeling: friendly, professional & relaxed.

Definitely a 10/10. Great food, great ambiance, & a place I'm already looking forward to going back to.

I really wanted to love it given the rave reviews about the pizza but it was nothing special in my opinion. Food was forgettable as was the service. The interior is really beautiful though with an open concept kitchen & communal seating.

my partner & I were seated right next to the kitchen pass & I swear to you, it was the best experience. felt like I was sitting in my grandma's kitchen, everything was so warm & inviting & it was an absolute treasure to watch the food being prepared. you can tell there is a lot of love in this place & the staff care about the food they're putting in front of you.

p.s. try the butters. I am forever changed & wish I could buy their butter trio to use at home

Our evening at Au Coin Pub Gastronomique was nothing short of exceptional. Despite arriving late & making a reservation for eight, the team welcomed us warmly & graciously offered a full kitchen menu - a level of flexibility & hospitality that truly impressed me.
The duck confit was outstanding - perfectly crisp on the outside, tender & rich within. I paired it with a classic whiskey sour, beautifully balanced & true to tradition. It was the perfect complement to a winter evening in Tremblant.
I also had the beetroot & goat cheese ravioli, which was both elegant & comforting - earthy, creamy, & thoughtfully prepared.
The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a mountain village pub: old-world charm, lively energy, & a room filled with fellow skiers sharing stories & gearing up to conquer the slopes at sunrise. There's something special about that kind of ambiance - warm, spirited, & full of anticipation.
If you're visiting Mont-Tremblant & want a place that blends refined cuisine with authentic pub character, this is it. We'll absolutely be back.

If you're looking for the best pizza in Montreal, this is where you find it. Perfect sourdough crust & lots of different options to choose from. The staff is warm & always on top of it. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The open kitchen has a very cozy atmosphere, where you can see the chef making the food in front of you. This has to be top of your list if you haven't tried it yet.
