Afficher toutdrink(144) cocktails(120) bar(84) vibe(40) speakeasy(31) music(31) recommend(23) bartender(18) fries(16) hidden(15) club(15) gem(12)Amazing time at ACC. Beautiful setting, relaxed atmosphere, highly creative drink menu & expert service & craftmanship from Gabriel at the bar. The food menu after 6:00 pm is an absolute must-try as well!
Nice people should be appreciated. Came here for the first time tonight- Jayden & Jess were so kind & professional. Absolutely loved watching them make the drinks.
Tony was also such a sweetheart. He even made sure my partner & I had a seat at the bar. So thoughtful.
Can't wait to be back again. Thank you!
First things first: finding the place is part of the fun. In proper speakeasy fashion, the entrance is tucked away in an alley, hidden just enough to make you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret society dedicated to excellent cocktails. Cute.
Once inside, the décor is delightfully over the top - dramatic, moody, & unapologetically stylish - exactly what you'd expect from the folks at @groupebarroco. It feels theatrical, like stepping onto the set of a very glamorous late-night scene.
The drink menu is well thought out, with a long list of signature cocktails that clearly lean into the flair & creativity of the bar team. The ones we tried were delicious & undeniably flashy with a bit of drama & make the table next to you curious about what you ordered.
In hindsight, we probably should have asked for a classic martini or something equally simple to truly test the bartenders' skills. But alas, we fell right into the trap they so expertly set: intriguing descriptions, clever ingredients, & a menu designed to lure you toward their signatures. & honestly… we're not really mad about it.
Now, about those'Top Bars in Canada' lists. One can't help but wonder how those actually work. Do they send someone to every bar in the country? Is there a secret panel of extremely well-hydrated judges traveling coast to coast? Or do certain places simply become very good at attracting the right kind of attention?
(We may know the answer to that… but that's a conversation for another time.)
For now, we'll say this: Atwater Cocktail Club delivers on atmosphere, creativity, & a sense of occasion. Whether you're chasing one of Canada's most talked-about cocktail bars or just looking for a fun night out behind a hidden door, it's worth stepping into the alley for.
This was the kind of bar you only see in movies. Andy was a phenomenal host & took his time to get to know us & chat about the area & drinks with us! This was such a beautiful evening & the drinks were SO good & there were plenty of options. The best part about all of it was that they were not that expensive & there were also n.a. Drink options so anyone could enjoy a fancy beverage. The bar is kind of in an alley with graffiti on the door so be on the lookout.
If Gatsby had a Canadian cousin who knew how to mix a proper drink, this would be his basement.
Tucked away like a secret you're not supposed to tell your in-laws, this prohibition style speakeasy absolutely nails the vibe.
Dim lights ? Check. Cool crowd ? Check.
Music that makes you nod like you understand jazz on a spiritual level ? Double check.
We worked our way through the Purple Rain, the Federal Reserve, & the Honey & Peach, basically a tour of flavor from rock concert to Wall Street to summer picnic. Each cocktail was beautifully balanced, dangerously smooth, & strong enough to make us briefly consider investing in something.
Now… about the ice.
Let's just say the cubes were less
'elegant chill' & more'Arctic expedition.'
By the time we found our way around the glacier in the glass, half the drink had relocated to the North Pole. We came for cocktails, not to reenact Titanic.
That said, the atmosphere & music were so good we almost forgave the icebergs. Almost.
Final verdict: fantastic night, stellar drinks, great vibes, just bring a tiny pickaxe… 😜
Brilliant cocktail bar. Great crowd. Super friendly & attentive service. Wonderful drinks.
Amazing drinks, great menu selection & nice throwback songs. Respect!
Great drinks, friendly service, tasty food.
We asked the bartender to make a drink according to our preferences & they delivered everytime
Outstanding! Awesome environment & great food for a'cocktail club'. Creative drinks, friendly staff & find environment!
I went to Atwater Cocktail Club last night & honestly… never again. The moment I walked in, there was a strong, unpleasant smell at the bar - almost like aged cheese. Not exactly the vibe.
I always order a martini to test a bartender's skills, & this was hands down the worst martini I've ever had. Weak, no balance, no flavor, just… big. The other drinks weren't any better - nothing unique, nothing craft about them.
To make things worse, the host/bouncer kept passing gas right near the entrance. I wish I was joking. It was genuinely nauseating & made the whole experience even more uncomfortable.
For a place that's supposed to be a speakeasy with great cocktails, this was a huge disappointment. Definitely not worth the hype.
Great vibe! Had non alcoholic drinks & they were amazing! Definitely would go back again!
I loved this place! I chose this as the first bar to go to on my 18th birthday, when I travelled from northern Ontario to Montréal back in May. I was told Happy Birthday at the door haha
Our server was really nice, & gave me & my friend I was with a yummy free shot because It was my birthday & conversed with us, He was really nice! They made a really good Singapore sling. They were sadly out of Escargot when I went! :-( But thats ok, because the oysters were amazing & so were the drinks. I did not have the beef tartare, but my friend did & liked it. Awesome & I cannot wait to go back! ^_^
I could write a love letter to this place. Damian is a gem. The cocktail list is long & intriguing. All of my drinks were on point & excellent. The food from the restaurant next door was a weak spot but I really wasn't here for food anyway. Great innovative cocktails is what I came for & what I received. Will return.
A great cocktail bar, well worth the line-up in the event there is one. You have to try La Récolte cocktail, best drink I've ever had - so good that it's listed in the menu twice!
It had been many years since I had been to Atwater Cocktail Club & I was pleasantly surprised that it has held up.
Tony was super pleasant while we waited to be seated & service from Andrew inside was great.
Drinks are fun & imaginative, & a range of prices & flavours.
A simple gin&tonic is $11 & it goes up from there.
Had to try the bechamel fries after smelling them from another table & was not disappointed.
Incredible cocktails. We even received complimentary snacks with our drinks! Cool hidden spot, a must visit
We are so glad we were able to spend our anniversary at this speakeasy. The service is great & the drinks are crafted so wonderfully! Definitely recommend coming to this bar if you are visiting in Montréal. We will be back for sure! Smoke Show was the blackberry drink, my fav 😍
The service here was amazing & everyone was kind. The cocktails here were remarkable. La récolte is such a good drink & a must try. Pink panther was also good & reminded me of a raspberry chocolate cake.
We didn't receive our drinks for a while after ordering but they checked in on us & found a mistake was made. They quickly corrected it & offered us drinks on the house. Shout out to Marie for being such a wonderful server
I am visiting from Toronto & will certainly be coming back to try more cocktails. This might be one of the best bars in MTL
