We googled best restaurants in Sherbrooke, Quebec & were intrigued by the horse cheek Shepherd's Pie (shepherd's pie being my partner's favorite dish). Came in late night with no real expectations & we were honestly blown away with the ambience, service & food.
In the uber ride over, our driver said he dropped three separate groups at that restaurant the same night, so we knew we were going somewhere great.
We opted to sit at the bar since we knew the kitchen/restaurant were getting ready to start shutting down. The bartender/our server - Corinne, was warm, extremely knowledgeable, had amazing recommendations & explained every dish with remarkable detail.
We had the bison carpaccio & duck tartare to start, then the shepherd's pie & duck breast as our mains & the sea buckthorn tarte for dessert. To drink, I had an espresso martini & my partner was extremely pleased with the corn on the cob cocktail (sounds wild but so so so good!). We both had the Pinot noir with dinner, as per Corinne's recommendations & it went so well with our meals.
The restaurant is in what appears to be an old textile factory, & they pay homage to that with the cellar-esque vibe, sewing machine decor, & stylish aprons & mixed glassware.
We thought we'd have an interesting late night meal & ended up having one of the best meals we've ever had with amazing service & the coolest vibe.

We had dinner at AntiDote FoodLab & wow, it was amazing. We started with the Squash & the Antidote Caesar, then had the Shepherd's Pie & the Beef. Everything was just really well done, super flavorful.
I had a gin & tonic & their Cocktail of the Moment, both were so good. For dessert, we shared the Carrot Cake & Black Forest Tart, then finished with a latté. No notes.
Our server Fred was great, knew his stuff, & everyone there made us feel really looked after.

Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la qualité de la cuisine & du service. L'originalités des cocktails, des entrées, des plats & des desserts sont forts intéressants & succulents. La salade César est hors de l'ordinaire, la soupe Parmentier est très bonne, l'assiette de boeuf & le saumon sont divinement bien apprêté, les desserts crèmes glacées pop corn & le gâteau de carotte sont très originales. Bravo au chef Luc Vaillancourt & sa brigade & à notre serveuse. 😊 Je recommande le cocktail du moment à la cerise. 🍒

My wife & I spontaneously decided to have supper here. We sat at the bar with a view of the kitchen, & our server who was also the bartender (Xavier) made our evening with his hospitality. Food was unbelievable. Recommended for anyone looking for phenomenal food & drinks in a unique atmosphere. A truly gastronomic experience.View more

There are meals that satisfy, & then there are those that leave a lasting impression - my recent dinner at L'Antidote FoodLab in Sherbrooke was definitely the latter.
From the first bite to the last, every dish felt like a thoughtful expression of flavor & finesse. The foie gras with panisse was a standout - the rich, silky foie gras paired with the crispy, golden panisse was simply stunning with the rich blueberry flavor. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause for a moment, just to fully appreciate what's happening on your palate.
But what truly made the experience special was the overall attention to detail. Each plate was delicate yet full of bold, balanced flavors - clearly the work of a team that not only knows their craft but loves it.
