Salt & pepper pork chops are their specialty. The plate was served & could have easily been enough for 4 people. Also enjoyed the salt & pepper shrimp & a beef dish from here.
practice saying these words before entering the restaurant:
'i'd like the salt & pepper pork chops please'
then you'll do this:
1. open the super unassuming door
2. go up the narrow staircase
3. say hi to the aquarium
4. get seated
5. look at the menu & get confused by the section that's in complete chinese with zero english
6. say the words you practiced before entering
follow all of this & you'll have a blast
Fantastic food. The salt & pepper pork chops were great. I think I liked their black bean noodle with beef more though. Service was good & friendly.
The atmosphere is alright, nothing special to mention. If you like a quiet spot like I do then this is a great place for you.
Excellent. Great value. The pork was delicious. I went to fancier place similar to this kind of food for twice the price & it wasnt even half as good.
I came here specifically for the salt & pepper pork chops as I read so many reviews about how this place has the best salt & pepper pork chops in Montréal. So it was a must try for me. I live in Québec City & can't find any authentic made meals from different cultures. I ordered the lunch special of the pork chops & the pork chops did not disappoint, although I wish they were a little less breaded. The lunch special comes with a dumpling soup which was delicious. The broth was so good & the dumpling good too. Overall, delicious meal. I even asked for extra onions & peppers on the side & they gave me a small container of them to go with my meal. I love the small, quaint & home style feel of this restaurant in Chinatown. I shared a table with a lovely couple since I was one person. Love meeting new people. Staff was friendly & very accommodating. Food comes quick, hardly any wait for anything. I will definitely return.
Their food are trully irresistible & delicious.
I will definitely come back again.
Try one of their best seller: salt & pepper pork chops.
The dining area is not fancy but the number of customers dining are true evidence of their delicious food they serve.
***February 8, 2025 update. Not sure if it was because the chef in the kitchen was different that day but the salt an pepper porkchops we ordered that day was completely different than what I have remembered over the last few decades. Not sure if I'd ever come back due to this. ***
Things have changed since I last gave this place a 5 star review. Dish quantity has been scaled down noticeably. The only thing I can recommend here now is their salt & pepper porkchops but even then I am sure another location would offer it too. This place is no longer my go to place in Montreal. I'd rather just drive to the southshore to my now 100 percent go to place.
Salt&pepper pork chops are amazing! Going there again tonight!
Staffs are very attentive & kind.
Very good food & big serving especially their porkchop! The pictures dont do justice. Try this restaurant & i promise it wouldnt disappoint!! The guy staff (i think he is the owner) is very friendly & accomodating!!
Huge portions. Excellent value. Very flavourful food. My husband & I shared the famous All Dressed Salt & Pepper Pork Chops with Rice, General Tao Chicken & Peanut Butter Wontons. The pork chops were way too greasy for my liking, but my husband loved them. I enjoyed the flavour, just not all the fat. The General Tao Chicken was oddly tough & chewy but the sauce was fantastic. I loved the peanut butter wontons.
$13 for a gigantic version of pork chop rice. Can't complain. I believe the portion can feed 2 adults. Well worth it.
Very small & cozy space with a nice ambiance. The staff were very friendly & willing to accommodate our dietary needs (we don't eat pork so they substituted with chicken in our chosen dish). Food was delicious & portions were satisfying, all while somehow being incredibly inexpensive. A nice, chill dining experience that I would recommend.
I don't usually like fried pork chops but since the salt & pepper pork chop was the specialty decided to try it & wow!! Such a good flavor & enough for two people to share if not super hungry 🥰🥰🥰 Casual eatery, card can use if above $10 which is easy to meet with any entree
