we saw their salt & pepper pork chops advertised in an instagram video, & since we always love trying new spots in chinatown, we decided to give them a go over the weekend. now, to be fair, neither of us actually ordered the pork chops... we went with the sesame beef & general tao chicken instead.

unfortunately, both were quite gummy, & the sauce tasted almost identical on both dishes. maybe it's just our preference, but neither of us really enjoyed them, & we didn't even finish the leftovers :(

i'm not sure if we'll be back to try their other dishes - probably not. there are just too many better spots in chinatown.

practice saying these words before entering the restaurant:

'i'd like the salt & pepper pork chops please'

then you'll do this:
1. open the super unassuming door
2. go up the narrow staircase
3. say hi to the aquarium
4. get seated
5. look at the menu & get confused by the section that's in complete chinese with zero english
6. say the words you practiced before entering

follow all of this & you'll have a blast

update August 2026:
just adding pictures because i never included some initially

My friend & I sat from 8:10pm to 10:15pm, our food came at 9:30pm.
The food was tolerable, they prob forgot to add salt after stir frying in the back for 1hr…. Wasn't worth the wait.

Service wasn't provided, we handed our own orders to the kitchen staff after waiting 30mins. Then, waiting another 40mins for the food. Asked the cashier/receptionist guy for an estimate time of cooking because we waited for over 1hour at that point. The cashier said that the kitchen staff would kill him if he went to ask for estimate time so asked us to understand the wait + other ppl are also waiting, making us seem unreasonable to ask for estimate time after sitting there for 1hr, no bowls no water no plates….
Our bowls & water only came by 1hr of waiting. If we knew we were gonna wait for that long, we would've chosen to leave.

The food came & we ordered a stir fry noodle & their recommended #108 which tasted mid. It wasn't worth the wait… grocery store meals tasted better. My stir fry noodles felt like empty taste. Incredibly disappointing…. Especially, with the wait & the good reviews online.

At the bill(20$ per person), it was told that tips were mandatory ( no one said it was beforehand & it wasn't written on the menu). I wanted to skip due to poor service & I didn't feel happy eating at theirs overall. Cashier said it was mandatory because it's their service fee & their taxed income & wouldn't hand me the payment machine unless I nodded okay. I manually tipped 2$ & the cashier immediately dropped attitude & threw the POS machine at my friend instead of handing it politely.

Conclusion:
Horrible service, no water fill, no checkups, no communication between staffs ( they refuse to give time estimates for 40+mins waiting) & severely understaffed.
= no tips deserved from me. I tipped under peer pressure & not voluntarily.

It's not because other people can wait that you should make everyone wait 1hr +
& it's not because you brought the dish to our table, you deserve a tip. The 20$ meal was the price we pay for the food to come on to our table. (Unless we pick up our own food at the counter - but your restaurant isn't designed so).

Update: my friend & I came in at the same time. We were both present & didn't move tables. So don't know who the owners talking about. Clearly, you are severely understaffed to even forget your customers.
We understand two events can get your restaurant crowded, but being understaffed & providing bad service & PEER PRESSURING tips is not tolerable.

On the behalf of me & most Pump It Up Canada players, they have really really good Mayo chicken. Also, the prices are absolutely fantastic!

The manager is very arogant, rude & aggressive. He panics & screams at you for no reason.Avoid this place at any cost.He is below Canadian standards & should get inspected by the authorities.
