The best part is definitely the belly dancer & the ambiance. The belly dancer is only performing on Friday & Saturday, late at night (around 10:30-11 pm?), & this'experience' has to be specifically reserved. You get a taste of the more authentic Syrian restaurant style with music & dance.
Food was good, but not wow. It was also pretty expensive for the value. Not that surprising given its location though. The restaurant is very loud, it is hard to communicate & order food.
Good for special events & the'exotic' factor.View more
Home cooking service & personal touch, ambiance as if you were in a small Syrian restaurant & excellent Kibbé Nayé… what more can you ask for?!View more
Amazing authentic Syrian cuisine, Their Muhammara & Mutabbal are the best in town, the decor is amazing. 💯 recommendedView more
I recently visited this wonderful Syrian restaurant in downtown Montreal, & I have to say, it was an exceptional experience. I ordered the Mansaf, & it was simply amazing - the flavors were rich, & the lamb was incredibly tender. It was a perfect representation of authentic Syrian cuisine. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the vibe of the restaurant. They were playing Fairuz in the background, which added a beautiful & calming atmosphere to the meal. The design of the restaurant was also impressive, with cultural hintsView more
This place has absolutely delicious food! Authentic Syrian (Al Sham) arabic classics. The portions are very generous which makes it worth the price! The entry is a bit confusing as it's on the lower level of the outdoor sign. Very polite & friendly staff. We got the Fettoush, hummus, falafel, shawarma abo al abd & the Ouzi. Everything was on point except the ouzi which was basic compared to everything. 100% worth going if you like Arabic food or want to try it.View more
The best Syrian food in the country. Fresh authentic & the owner & staff are super friendly. Beautiful hidden gemView more
We had the Ouzi the kibbeh & the sea bass & Syrian wine. It was all incredible. We have very high standards for food & the places we eat & from when you walk in the door the atmosphere & decor is striking the food was delicious & our server Sanaa was absolutely excellent, being patient walking us through all the foods & providing us with recommendations. I will be eating here again & would absolutely recommend it. I don't think there is a wrong thing to order on the whole menu.View more
The Syrian flavors that make you excited, curious, & eager to try , it can all be experienced at Abu el zulof . A perfect affordable alternatives to restaurant Damas.View more
We recently dined at abu el zulof, coming from Toronto it was a must try. As a Syrian myself I was blown away with the fast service & the vibrant atmosphere. All in all very a very friendly environment with amazing food that transports you to Damascus. ❤️🇸🇾View more
From the grape leaves, the falafels to the chicken kebab to dip in the garlic sauce. It's Lebanese/Syrian style , delicious. The atmosphere was belly dancer, & loud music inside & the sitting outside is casual take out style. Lebanese wine is a must if you enjoy red wine. The service is super nice & they do go above & beyond to help out.View more
Beautiful clean place on the popular crescent Street with a Syrian fountain on the Inside, giving away the cuisine style. Tried mansaf for the first time & the meat was incredibly tender. My friend advised me he prefers the yogurt to be thicker as he is Palestinian but for me the taste was great, strong perfumed rice & steaming hot.View more
Beautiful Syrian restaurant. Beautiful Syrian artwork & very nice owner & staff!View more
Very nicely decorated Syrian restaurant that serves great food. The brunch menu is new & a good value for the quality of the food. We had the falafel & hummus plate that was incredible & the shakshuka with warm bread that was amazing. The decor is just outstanding.View more
A year ago, I wandered into this restaurant. Ok, I actually searched google for good middle eastern food, & this place came up. It was absolutely spectacular. I remember having a Syrian style ice cream & a tartare dish. The sweet velvet cotton candy balanced out with the pistachio & the ice cream. The tartare dish reminded me of kitfo, an Ethiopian dish. It was delectable. The Syrian servers were really nice. I got an impression that they were curious that an Asian ended up in their restaurant (in fact, a customer stared at me hard). I'm no stranger to exploring global cuisines though. & the thing is, if your food is good, people in all corners will come :).View more
This restaurant is def #1 in terms of food, vibes, music, & decor. The presentation of food is unique & the quality is top! I visited this place again & again after the first visit. Never fails to disappoint. Definitely the first place to go for Syrian & Lebanese food. Also it has great music & vibes during the weekend!View more
The decor is very cute & very creative with a lot of classic objects & photos of singers. It is a casual outing, & is on crescent, so keep that in mind when you come for a visit.
We were seated promptly & ordered a variety of items to try out from every section of the menu.
The portions were larger than other places, so unless you’re very hungry or are many, I wouldn’t order many dishes. As with many middle eastern places, the dishes are meant to be shared.
There were a lot of families & groups in the restaurant listening to the live music.
In comparison to other Syrian places around town & what we’ve had abroad, this place is just ok. Our favorite dishes were the mansaf, kibbeh & batersh. We didn’t enjoy the tabouleh, zulof & fish dish as much.View more
I went today with my friend for the first time, & the food was beyond amazing. Honestly, the closest I got to actual middle eastern food!!! The decor of the place is so beautiful, reminds me of Syrian houses with the fountain in the middle. The staff are super nice & welcoming 😊
We ordered the tabouleh, mansaf, cheese sambousek, batresh & maskhan. Each dish was beautifully made to perfection!
Thanks so much for your hospitality.View more
