The best part is definitely the belly dancer & the ambiance. The belly dancer is only performing on Friday & Saturday, late at night (around 10:30-11 pm?), & this'experience' has to be specifically reserved. You get a taste of the more authentic Syrian restaurant style with music & dance.
Food was good, but not wow. It was also pretty expensive for the value. Not that surprising given its location though. The restaurant is very loud, it is hard to communicate & order food.
Good for special events & the'exotic' factor.View more
We've now been to Abu El Zolof twice, & both times were a blast - but this past weekend was extra special as we chose to celebrate our friend's birthday there, & it was the perfect choice.
The place is spacious, clean, & beautifully set up for a lively night out. Right from the moment we walked in, the energy was great - you could feel that everyone was there to have a good time. The staff was welcoming, professional, & the service overall was smooth & attentive throughout the night.
They recently made a few changes to their set menu. Now it's $75 per person, & for that, you get a full mezza spread followed by BBQ kebab platters. Let me just say - the food was delicious. Every bite brought back familiar Lebanese flavors that felt both authentic & fresh.
We enjoyed everything from the fattoush, tabouli, hummus, baba ghanouj, & mhamara to the perfectly made kibbeh & wara2 3inab (stuffed grape leaves). These two classics were especially tasty - the kibbeh had that perfect crunch on the outside & was juicy inside, & the grape leaves were soft, tangy, & flavorful.
The grilled meats were also a hit - tender, juicy, & well-seasoned.
If I had to suggest anything, it would be to add a couple of hot mezza dishes (like soujouk, makanek, or rakakat) to make the menu feel even more complete & rich - especially for the price point. But that's just a suggestion; the overall quality of the food was excellent.
This is where Abu El Zolof really shines. The singer was absolutely amazing - great voice, engaging, & knew exactly how to get the crowd going. The atmosphere turned into a full-on celebration with everyone clapping, dancing, & singing along.
To top it off, they had a belly dancer, & she was incredible - full of energy & talent, really elevating the whole experience. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into the entertainment, & it makes all the difference.
Whether you're looking for a spot to celebrate something special or just want a night of good food, music, & dancing, Abu El Zolof delivers. We had such a great time that we're already thinking about going back again.
Highly recommend this place for a fun night out - Lebanese-style!View more

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I recently visited Abu El Zoulof on Crescent Street, & it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The ambiance was warm & inviting, with amazing Middle Eastern music that instantly transported us to another world. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, & went above & beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was simply outstanding authentic, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Every dish was a burst of flavors, from the fresh appetizers to the perfectly spiced mains. It's clear that a lot of love & passion goes into their food, & it truly made the meal unforgettable. If you're looking for a place in Montreal with great vibes, delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, & a welcoming atmosphere, Abu El Zoulof is a must-visit! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a memorable dining experience.View more
Best oriental cuisine & the music is wonderful ❤️❤️❤️View more
Be aware that the live music & belly dancer starts at 9 & it's a separate reservation directly with the restaurant. We'd a reservation at 7 & wanted to stay but thankfully the manager honored our request as we're only two & one table had some that didn't show up then we learned that another full table didn't show up. The space is small but cozy & the food is good.View more
This is one of the best jewels of module eastern food! I highly recommend because of food quality & amazing music. Don't be afraid to try something new 👍🏾View more
From the grape leaves, the falafels to the chicken kebab to dip in the garlic sauce. It's Lebanese/Syrian style , delicious. The atmosphere was belly dancer, & loud music inside & the sitting outside is casual take out style. Lebanese wine is a must if you enjoy red wine. The service is super nice & they do go above & beyond to help out.View more

Best decision to come here! Amazing music amazing vibes & amazing staff!! 10/10 atmosphereView more
Fantastic dining experience. We were with a group & therefore got to taste a wide variety of dishes: fatoush salad, hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, fried cheese, & a meat plate (I didn't eat the meat personally but others said it was great). Great taste & quality ingredients. Attentive service throughout; fun fez hats to wear & a good musician playing a sort of guitar that sounded like flamenco. My only complaint is that the music was amplified so it was difficult to talk over it.View more
Visiting from NYC we're always up for trying different cultures food & cuisine. This was definitely atop the list, being from NY I've basically seen & had it all but this was a really enjoyable first authentic Middle Easter experience. The atmosphere & ambiance & decor was nothing that we've experienced before & was very impressed. As a musician myself, I was also really drawn to the singing, the playing & the DJ. The live Lebanese music & entertaining belly dance that we were able to take part in was really fun. The foods were big in portions, delicious, rich in flavor & had no complaints whatsoever. Our taste buds & stomach were very satisfied. Friendly attentive staff. We were seated right away didn't feel rushed. I like when we're finished eating that we can just enjoy a conversation without the check being placed in front of us. Shout out to the cooks in the back as well, they definitely don't get as much credit as deserved. You may either want to walk or take a taxi, parking can be difficult to come by. May be a bit on the pricier side for some but it's well worth it. The entire decor was authentic from the moment you walk in from the stairway, the walls were interesting, the chairs, the floor were were catching & even the table cloths, felt like I was eating on Aladdin's magical rug, in a good way. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for something different.View more
Come by for some good food, good drinks & good music!! Great spot to get a little reminder of my country when the going gets toughView more
For a moment in time, you are transported into another era, another country with the festive decor & live music, forgetting the cold montreal winters. A great variet of delicious food & fun cocktails. Great service, attentive & quick. Will definitely come back!View more
Not sure why this place has high ratings. I went there with my friend & I wasn't impressed much. We ordered Iftar set menu. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly. The food was ok. We paid 150$ for two Iftar set menus which I believe it was way overpriced compared to the quality of the food served. The set menu consists of a cold beverage (Jallab) a lentil soup, fattouch, Fatteh, main course & a dessert. We ordered two main courses, shakeriya & mixed grilles, the shakeriya was ok but I can't say I was impressed with the mixed grills the dish came with a lot of fries, 4 big chops of shish tawuk & 4 big chops of beef, small breads with a spicy sauce which was bitter not spicy & no kebabs or grilled onions. The dessert was ok. Two things I disliked about this place, first was the very loud music. The second thing was the parking, this restaurant is in a busy area in downtown so finding a parking can be very problematic. Sorry I was too hungry so I didn't take good pictures of the dishes 😆View more
It's easily the best food I've had since i moved to Canada. Highly recommended!! It is, however, very expensive, but it is definitely worth it! I suggest you dine in if you're eating from here, because the atmosphere is very nice. Calm music, & nice decor. You'd be paying a lot for this food, might as well enjoy everything they have to offer!View more
Abu el Zulof's brunch isn't just about the food - it's a nostalgic journey through flavors & memories. The charming interior decor, reminiscent of childhood days, envelops you in warmth & comfort. Vintage trinkets & colorful tapestries adorn the walls, setting the stage for a trip down memory lane. Accompanying this nostalgic setting is the music - a medley of traditional tunes that whisk you back to family gatherings & festive occasions. As you indulge in the flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine, memories flood back with each bite. Crisp falafel paired with creamy hummus, comforting shakshouka served with warm bread, & the surprising combination of halloumi bread with watermelon - each dish is a delicious ode to the past. Throughout the experience, the attentive service & friendly staff ensure that every moment is filled with joy & nostalgia. Abu el Zulof's brunch isn't just a meal - it's a nostalgic escape, making it the perfect destination for a leisurely weekend brunch with a touch of nostalgia.View more
All excellent! Food, to service, to ambiance, choice of music, smiling waitresses & great management. Since we discovered this new gem, it's now our daily stop for a great Shisha night! A must try in the downtown!View more

Food was delicious, live music 🎵 The only bad part is that they didn't have alcohol to serve with the food.View more
This restaurant is def #1 in terms of food, vibes, music, & decor. The presentation of food is unique & the quality is top! I visited this place again & again after the first visit. Never fails to disappoint. Definitely the first place to go for Syrian & Lebanese food. Also it has great music & vibes during the weekend!View more
The decor is very cute & very creative with a lot of classic objects & photos of singers. It is a casual outing, & is on crescent, so keep that in mind when you come for a visit.
We were seated promptly & ordered a variety of items to try out from every section of the menu.
The portions were larger than other places, so unless you’re very hungry or are many, I wouldn’t order many dishes. As with many middle eastern places, the dishes are meant to be shared.
There were a lot of families & groups in the restaurant listening to the live music.
In comparison to other Syrian places around town & what we’ve had abroad, this place is just ok. Our favorite dishes were the mansaf, kibbeh & batersh. We didn’t enjoy the tabouleh, zulof & fish dish as much.View more
