I was visiting Montreal from Toronto & came across this place because of a friend's recommendation & wow, what a find. Restaurant Abu El Zulof did not disappoint in the slightest.

The food was some of the most authentic & flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine I've had in a very long time. Every dish tasted fresh, handcrafted, & made with genuine care. You could immediately tell that the recipes had been passed down through generations, & learning that many of them are family & grandmother recipes made the experience even more special.

A huge shout-out to our server, who truly elevated the entire evening. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, & passionate about the menu. His recommendations were spot on, & thanks to him, we ended up trying a variety of dishes we might have otherwise missed. Every suggestion was a hit.

The restaurant itself has a warm & inviting atmosphere. The decor & interior transport you straight into a Middle Eastern setting, creating an experience that feels both authentic & comforting. Combined with the aromas coming from the kitchen, it makes for a memorable dining experience from start to finish.

While it may be slightly on the pricier side, the quality, freshness, & generous portion sizes make it well worth it. If you're visiting with a group, I highly recommend ordering a variety of starters, mains, & sharing plates so everyone can experience the range of flavors the restaurant has to offer.

What surprised me most is that this place isn't packed every night. It feels like one of Montreal's hidden gems, an underdog that deserves far more recognition & hype than it currently gets. The flavors linger long after the meal is over, & it's one of those restaurants that you'll find yourself thinking about days later.

I dined here with my friends & we had a wonderful time! I ordered a kibbeh dish & it was not only assorted beautifully, but it also tasted delicious. The owner was very hospitable & even gave our group a free salad to share! I would definitely recommend going here to everyone in Montreal.

The food was good, & the atmosphere was great. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, & the service could be improved, as we experienced a long wait & a lack of professionalism.
Despite this, the overall ambiance was enjoyable.
