We loved our meal at 9 Tail Fox! The food was flavorful & beautifully presented, with clear attention to detail. We tried the seasonal asparagus, oyster mushroom tempura, duck confit, steak & fries, & matcha yuzu cheesecake-all were fantastic.
The tapas-style, Korean-Western fusion dishes felt fresh & well-balanced. A great spot for a unique & satisfying dining experience in Montreal!View more
Definitely one of the best place to go in Montreal. The owner blend perfectly the flavour of Korean dishes with some hints of French cuisine!View more
I went there last year but I've been meaning to leave a review.
As someone who has lived for a long time in Korea, I was curious about the fusion concept of it all. Well, I was very disappointed. The food is bland. Korean food has such strong flavors, it was a let down.
The fish was, of course, very fresh, so no complaints there. The Kim chi Caesar salad was a joke, none of it reminded me of Kim chi, I guess they called it that because they used cabbage?
Like many others said, the portions are small, so eat beforehand. Finally, when my friend & I left, we both said'yeah, I'm never going back there'.View more
Blown away by the delicious & innovative take on Korean cuisine- everything was good, & the fried jumbo oysters were insane. Service & ambience was top. Perfect for group events, we were so well taken care of. Will definitely be coming back!View more
My friend & I were really impressed with the food. Such great flavors & combinations. We will definitely come back. It is not authentic Korean food though it's just has some Korean inspired ingredients or flavors tossed into some of their dishes. More like western Asian fusion.View more
We are very particular & this discovery SCORED on all fronts. The atmosphere - it is a small trendy resto; servers are very personable & attentive. Then there is the fusion style korean cuisine with French overtones which was excellent - balanced, wonderfully creative. We will be back. Met the chef & servers Justin & Chanel !!View more
Every dish was exquisitely prepared with delicately nuanced Korean flavours mixed in with a French cooking style. We enjoyed & shared 8 different dishes & 2 desserts. Absolutely every dish was unique, delicious & had a beautiful presentation. Thank you Lee for an amazing meal & Chanel for your lovely service.View more

I loved the unique blend of Korean food with a European touch at this restaurant. The dishes were flavorful presented. The wine pairing recommendations were perfect, making the meal even more enjoyable. Great service & a cozy atmosphere, definitely worth a visit :)View more
I had such a good dine-in experience at 9 Tail Fox. They are almost like a French cuisine with Korean taste influenced. Galbi & Octopus was really good. Oyster was so fresh too.View more
Best meal I've had in a while. It's Korean fusion, so it's interesting & delicious takes on regular dishes with a Korean twist. I'm definitely going back to try the rest of the menu.View more
Food is absolutely fabulous & one can see they take considerable time to prepare the food (marinating) before the actual cooking. Tastes are definitely not traditional Korean but fusion , however, are very likable & creative. The portion is small but IMHO, considering the preparation they took & the food taste, it does deserve the charged amount & they aren't crazily priced as well. Service is good & attentive. However, our server can spend a bit more time studying the menu details. Definitely recommending 9 Tails Fox & will return.View more
Very creative Korean-ish food. Dumplings with soy sauce & truffle oil, kimchi pancake with a baby shrimp salad on top, pleurotte mushrooms crispy fried. I didn't try any if the meat dishes but the tonkasse, duck & fried chicken all disappeared. Staff was incredibly friendly. The music was good (but a little too loud). On a great restaurant street, this was a great find.View more
Had a chance to sit in terrace on the perfect weather! The food is always amazing. I love how they twist authentic Korean dishes with various interesting flavours! The dumplings, donkatsu & kimchi fried rice are my all time favourites. The service was very nice & welcoming. I really loved the whole atmosphere. I'll visit again soon :)View more
For the price, the portions are very small. Food is generally a bit bland or too salty. It's supposed to be a korean fusion restaurant, but all the korean inspired food do not really have any distinct korean flavour. Kimchi seasoning, jjampong, etc. do not taste like how they should. Just a "generic asian flavour". Service was decent, but could be better. Pouring water by reaching over the table & blocking the guests instead of pouring from the other side of the table, serving 5 shrimp chips for a table of 3 (like come on, the shrimp chip cost what, 5 cents each?). The atmosphere was okay but they leave the windows open & there are people smoking cigarettes & weeds on the streets & you can smell it all.View more
Upscale korean food. Extremely delicious oysters. New takes on korean classics. This place was outstanding the chef & cooks here are doing an absolutely phenomenal job. The service was very good as well I never had an empty glass & everyone was very nice. I definitely want to come back.View more
Very nice Korean restaurant to bring friends or a date. The food was quite creative with its unique flavours & its presentation. The chefs really know what they're doing. My server was really good, they would check up on us to see if we were good. Nothing excessive, just the right amount of excellent service to not interrupt my date. My date really liked the vibe of the restaurant ! Would definitely go back again & I recommend anyone whether they are a foodie or not, to try out this Montreal gem !View more
The atmosphere is calm & warm, allowing you to connect with company. Perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic date. Food is more tapas style that pair well with alcohol. Korean flavours & spices are incorporated into the food in a very innovative way. I would recommend taking the oysters, beef tartare & burrata cheese.View more
Having visited Seoul & Tokyo on a few occasions over the last few years, I enjoyed this small neighborhood restaurant that takes its inspiration from Korea & Japan. A special note for the EXCEPTIONAL service. The waiter contacted us after we left to mention an error on our bill. How many times does this happen? The food is very good, the pricing is fair, the staff is friendly & kind, but I feel there are a few details that still can be improved to make this an exceptional dining experience. First, the music is too loud. It is almost impossible to hear & understand the waiters & have a conversation with someone at the table. Second, the menu is very good, but I feel some plates could be bolder. Our plate of lamb chops with mashed potatoes was well executed & perfectly cooked, but could have been prepared in any of the many French bistros in Montreal. I thought that this dish needed to have a stronger Korean-infused flavour (sauce?) to warrant a special place on the menu. Lastly, I feel that more care & professionalism should be directed at the drink menu. Our kind, attentive, serviable, but mostly overwhelmed waiter (there were a few minor hiccups in the kitchen that slowed the pace of the dinner - not a problem at our table), she had difficulty explaining to us some of the items on the drinks menu, their origin (local producer?) & their flavour profile to go with the menu. At a day & age where menus are ever more eclectic & complex, & the flavour profile of natural wines is often impossible to predict, I think that it is the important for the staff to have deeper understanding of what is offered to complement the menu. That being said, we will go back, perhaps on a more quiet evening or earlier on a busy to appreciate the food & the great service.View more
Excellent food, fast service, great cocktails.
Great dishes with different Korean items than seen elsewhere
Omg. A real gem. Tiny but the atmosphere very nice. Great service, the waitress was very kind & also knew what wine goes with what. The food, korean fushion I would say. Loved it very much. My friend & I had their signature dumplings oyster mushroom tempura kimchi fried rice yuringi (fried chicken asian chimichurri) duck confit beef tartare (tastes like korean bulgogi) Definitely have to go back & try other dishes!View more
Food was delicious, but in very small quantity. You will need to order at least 4-6 plates for 2 people. Cocktails (Suwon Mule), dumplings, & Kalguksu were especially good. (We did not order kimchi fried rice just because we make them at home, but the dish smelled amazing at the restaurant.) Carpaccio was so-so. Cuisine-wise, it is more western than Korean.View more
