At 123 Dzo Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar, reviews depict a lively tapas style take on Vietnamese cooking with fresh seafood, bold flavors, and inventive cocktails. Guests praise warm, attentive service and a welcoming, contemporary vibe, though a few note slower or uneven service on busy nights. The cuisine is described as fresh and flavorful, with standout skewers, soft shell crab, and flavorful noodle dishes, while some diners mention smaller portions and higher prices compared with earlier visits. Overall the place is seen as a strong option for groups and casual dates, with many planning to return and a few caveats about value and consistency depending on the visit.
My favorite thing about this restaurant is definitely their skewers. The meat is so tender & flavorful, it was amazing. The salad & the shrimp on sugarcane was decent but I feel like compared to the skewers, they were pretty average. The service here is quite friendly & polite. They do seem a bit shy because they speak in such a low volume it's hard to hear their words sometimes. The place is quite nice. The tables were pretty spacious & it wasn't too crowded either.

Today we had a dinner around opening time (5pm). I'm sure we are the first one order, the salad came pretty fast & it took almost 30 minutes for the 6 dishes to come out at the same time.
I know it was a bit busy at that time, but staffs were not flexible. We heard exact eight-bells from the kitchen (20-25 minutes) but no one come to deliver the food. Why didn't they get 1-2 dishes first & take the order for the next table then? Why did they had to take the order for every single table, do the drink & then bring the food to the table lastly? We've been waiting 30 minutes to have all the rest at the same time & they're all cold, the quality of all of them were worse (but can acceptable), except the fried rice used too old rice, can't even eat the second spoon. We talked to the one of the staff that the rice smell bad & want to cancel another order for Togo that we ordered ahead.
& then we still got a bill with one rice counted on. I don't think with this problem we will come back for another time. If the owner known that, I don't think he will let it go because we've been this place at least once every month. Btw I still like the way old staffs work here, not the new one. Really disappointed!!!
I really like the environment that have the Vietnamese touch. The restaurant is tapas style & they are famous for the seafood.
But I found they Skeeters are nice too
We had papaya salad & beef creche to start with. We shared a picher sangria to dhare & had a blue with coconut, & pink with rose.
We found you can taste more coconut & pink rose taste drink than in the sangria.
We have ordered a skewer platter (10pc to share), soft share crab, the noodle, rice with pick chops, a beef on the iron skillet thing.
All very good! Group of 6, paid around $65 (tax & tops included) per person.
Service is nice, drink is nice
Now I understand why lots of people recommended this place.
Overall, the food was good. I liked the « bot chien » which was the crispy rice cake with the homemade soy sauce. Also really loved the mango salad, that was probably my favorite dish from the restaurant. The chicken skewer were good & tender. I would have pass on the fried calamari & the bun rieu, which lack flavours. The service was a bit slow.

Food was amazing! Was pelasantly surprised by the corn salad. Had the vermicelli with chicken & it was delicious. My friend had a rice plate, which was just okay. The skewers were very tasty. But the wings were the highlight of our meal! Mocktail was very nice. We were sitting at the bar & all the drinks looked very cute. Iced coffee is not the best but not the worst. The coffee flavour was too mild for my taste. I like a really strong coffee flavour.
Wow, so, this was a nice little discovery! First of all, when I arrived (5:30), there were only 2 tables. Within one hour, the restaurant filled up with groups of 6-10 people (Thursday night). There was only one waiter (Franco) who received help from a bar service colleague. They were on fire! Service was quick, we never had to signal them to the table. The food was absolutely delicious & full of flavours. The tapas were generous portions for the price. I saw what was being waited at different tables - lots of variety. We took two salads (Papaya Salad with beef jerky & the Jellyfish salad - which was surprisingly good), brochette skewers (beef & chicken) & the friend panjo shrimp with a homemade sauce. Very delicious, I'll be back for sure.
Big Foodie. 3 Years New to Montreal. This was by far on me & my husband's Top 10 restaurants that we have tried here in Quebec. Our waitress was perfect. Order came out quickly. Vibe was on point. Food was to die for we tried all of their specials & the papaya salad was Fire. Great portions. Great desserts. Great beverage menu ! Drinks were well made. I mean I can go on for years about this place. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

Wow! I noticed the great reviews & it was very near to my hotel so I thought to try it. I am SO happy that I did, it was superb! The menu has many items which intrigued me but I had to settle on two dishes & the two which I chose were fantastic. The salad was extremely fresh & the proportions of the ingredients was in great balance. The bo bun vermicelli bowl had amazing flavour with the betel leafs & the sauce. The service was genuinely friendly & kind but also very efficient. There were many Doordash pickups as I was dining so that is usually a very good sign too that people are willing to order it to their homes. The décor was interesting & tasteful, the washroom was very clean, & the price was very equitable for the quality & the portion sizes. I will be returning very soon & bringing a colleague with me as well!
