A week of rare intensity is shaking up the Canadian culinary scene, and Montreal is establishing itself more than ever as the country's culinary epicenter.
Last night, Montreal hosted the Gala des Lauriers de la gastronomie du Québec, a major celebration of local talent. At the same time, the 2026 Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list had just been unveiled, confirming the city's dominance with a massive presence in the national rankings.
Leading the pack among Montreal establishments, Mon Lapin took second place nationally, followed closely by Beba (6th) and Le Violon (8th). The list also highlights the impressive diversity of the local scene: Montréal Plaza (13th), Rôtisserie La Lune (21st), Bar St-Denis (22nd), Limbo (23rd), Sushi Nishinokaze (31st), Alma (34th), Pichai (36th), Salle Climatisée (43rd), Sabayon (44th), and Cabaret L'Enfer (45th) confirm the vitality of the city's dining scene.
Further down the list, we also find Joe Beef (51st), Parapluie (56th), Lawrence (57th), Monarque (61st), Mastard (63rd), Grille Nature (66th), Toqué! (70th), Gia (71st), L'Express (73rd), Au Pied de Cochon (78th), Elena (93rd), Chez Jean-Paul (95th), and Casavant (100th), rounding out a rich and diverse portrait of the city.
