In Montreal and its surrounding areas, Cinco de Mayo has become a springtime staple for celebrating Mexican culture through great food, refreshing cocktails, and an always festive atmosphere. Each year, the event brings together taco, tequila, and Latin music lovers across the city. This year, Cinco de Mayo celebrations run from Saturday, May 2 to Tuesday, May 5, with a lineup of events, special menus, and festive evenings taking place in restaurants and bars across Montreal throughout the weekend.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Today, it has evolved into a broader celebration of Mexican culture, highlighting its cuisine, agave spirits, and festive traditions.
