For years, we had to drive all the way to Toronto to enjoy authentic Hong Kong-style congee & other delicious dishes. Now, we can savor the same great flavors right here on Taschereau Street in Brossard! The location is convenient, with plenty of free parking available.
-1 star : Chinese people drink Tea, not tapped water. Why can't you serve free hot tea?View more
Bonne expérience de Dim sum. Les congees sont excellents, leurs spécialités, similaire à ce qu'on trouve en Chine. Un ensemble vraiment bon, soyez prêt à faire la file, il peut y avoir beaucoup de mondeView more
This is the restaurant my husband & I always go to it feels like our little love spot. The dishes are light, flavorful, & comforting. I especially love the fish congee, seafood congee, Hong Kong style fish balls, & their delicious dim sum dishes like har gow (shrimp dumplings) & rice rolls with shrimp & pork everything here is truly tasty & reasonably priced.
They also serve fragrant Hong Kong milk tea, which I really enjoy. We used to visit their downtown location, but even now that they've moved farther away, we still make the trip to support them it's our go to place.
A hot bowl of fish congee warms not just the body, but the soul something we Asians truly appreciate, especially during the cold season. There's nothing better than a steaming bowl of comfort on a chilly day.View more
Rare authentic Cantonese congee, dimsum, & rice rolls in the area. There are lunch deals for 1 person, 2 people, & breakfast specials too. Take out tastes just as good.View more
The place is quite new! It opens at 9 am, & they offer an early bird breakfast special before 11 am, a bowl of congee, a piece of fried dough, & a cup of milk tea for just $10. It's a great way to start the day & gives me energy for everything ahead.View more
Yummy good. Any of the rice rolls & congee are great. Particularly love any of the Hong Kong style items.View more
Great spot for some rice noodle rolls! We had BBQ pork, as well as shrimp & beef rice noodle rolls & they were both great! The fried dough stick, shrimp spring roll, sticky rice, & fried noodles were all very good. Congee was ok, but not the best from others we've had. Service was impeccable! We got greeted & seated upon arrival, though others walking in after us waited 5-10 minutes as the restaurant was full. All the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything, food arrived quickly even if the restaurant was full, they refilled water before our bottle was empty. The restaurant & washrooms were very clean. The only thing is the choice is limited for dim sum selections compared to other dim sum places.View more
My favorite restaurant in Brossard, super delicious congee, other dishes are all great too.View more
Yin Ji is a casual diner offering some simple Cantonese classics of congee & cheung fun, & a bit more.
The congee is well-seasoned with a smooth & almost creamy consistency. The cheung fun were silky & the seasoned soy sauce was lightly sweet without being overpowering.
The cheung fun have a great texture, but perhaps the price is a little steep for what they are. Cheung fun are typically such simple & casual dishes made with inexpensive ingredients. I almost have trouble justifying the 10$+ post-tax price for a plate, & that's in the mid-range of what they offer for cheung fun.
I also did not love the iceberg lettuce in the cheung fun & would prefer they be served without it. The lettuce is wilted & wet, & does not leave enough room for the silkiness of the cheung fun to shine.
Ordering can only be done online via the QR-code that is made available on every table. While we understand most people have smartphones & can access this link, unfortunately much of the Asian demographic in Brossard is of the elderly who are unlikely to have a smartphone. The staff was understanding enough of this concern & was able to provide us with a physical menu for our elder, but also warned us that the menu was outdated & the online menu should be referenced instead.
All in all, the food was good for what it is: simple, casual, filling, & hits the spot for those who are a little homesick for something traditional. Perhaps if you are coming to eat with elderly Chinese folk who may be frugal & a little judgemental, don't tell them how much you spent on their meal.View more
Great beef & congee, easily the best congee in brossardView more
The service is great the atmosphere is great, but the food is subpar. The rice rolls are too thick & the congee is bland. Downtown location was better.View more
Tasty Chinese congee, steam rice roll & snacks at affordable price.View more
I like their food very much. This is the location you must try & then you will love it. Very traditional style rice noodles pair nicely with congee. Everything we order are so delicious & great quality & plenty.
The service is great & very friendly. The young gentleman server is very knowledgeable & helpful.View more
New location is Brossard. Food is just okay & blend. Restaurant is clean & service is fast. Rice rolls & congee are popular dishes.View more
Très bien mangé, bon service. La sauce du "beef brisket" était excellente. Certains morceaux auraient pu être un peu plus tendres mais très bon. Le congee était bien garni.View more
To be honest I don't understand the hype of YinJi. The taste of the the rice rolls & congee is ordinary. Taste is bland, I can make better congee at home with a slow cooker. The shrimps are the small low quality ones, the beef brisket is way too salty with the sauce. They don't use quality ingredients, & the portions are too small for the price that they are charging. The dim sum items & the deep fried dough are not made in house. If I am craving for dim sum I would go to a proper dim sum restaurant. Over $8 for one small rice noodles dish, congee> $ 13/ bowl. I can go to a AYCE lunch for that price. Will not be returningView more
Is about time Brossard got a good rice noodle roll (chang fen) dive with a wide selection. No offense to the rice roll counter in Place Portobello's food court. That place will always have the OG title for handmade rice noodle roll in Brossard. Respect. Yin Ji Chang Fen serves freshly made (per order, it seems) rice rolls. & that is what you want! You want hot & bouncy jiggle jiggle texture. Great batter. We tried shrimp, shrimp & beef, fish, etc rice roll. All good. Layers of thin rice sheets & savoury yummy generous fillings. Our fav was the HK beef brisket roll & HK plain roll with peanut+sweet sauce. Congee was pipping HOT. Amazing for dipping your fritter. Generous with its garnish & filling. The way it should be. I ain't paying for wet rice krispy & water. Amazing lan wai congee & great preserved egg & pork (big pieces of preserved egg!). Personally, kidney-liver-pork congee will always be a top choice, anywhere. If someone can make a beauty out of offals. They got skills. Their fritters are really good. Hot, crispy & just enough oily (not finger stained oily but hmmmm taste good deep fried). Service is rapid & efficient. We ordered on our phones using the QR code & unlike other places where it is complicated & slower than using the waiter, this place makes ordering via QR worth it. We went at 11h before the lunch rush & food came out within minutes of our order.View more
