This is the restaurant my husband & I always go to it feels like our little love spot. The dishes are light, flavorful, & comforting. I especially love the fish congee, seafood congee, Hong Kong style fish balls, & their delicious dim sum dishes like har gow (shrimp dumplings) & rice rolls with shrimp & pork everything here is truly tasty & reasonably priced.
They also serve fragrant Hong Kong milk tea, which I really enjoy. We used to visit their downtown location, but even now that they've moved farther away, we still make the trip to support them it's our go to place.
A hot bowl of fish congee warms not just the body, but the soul something we Asians truly appreciate, especially during the cold season. There's nothing better than a steaming bowl of comfort on a chilly day.View more

The place is quite new! It opens at 9 am, & they offer an early bird breakfast special before 11 am, a bowl of congee, a piece of fried dough, & a cup of milk tea for just $10. It's a great way to start the day & gives me energy for everything ahead.View more
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. It was busy but no wait line. You have to scan the QR code to order. The food came out quite fast. Everything was tasty & delicious. I really liked the Thai chicken feet, the fried wontons, the egg custard buns & the Hong Kong milk tea. The place lacks aeration so it gets quite hot. Great spot for some rice noodle rolls! We had BBQ pork, as well as shrimp & beef rice noodle rolls & they were both great! The fried dough stick, shrimp spring roll, sticky rice, & fried noodles were all very good. Congee was ok, but not the best from others we've had. Service was impeccable! We got greeted & seated upon arrival, though others walking in after us waited 5-10 minutes as the restaurant was full. All the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything, food arrived quickly even if the restaurant was full, they refilled water before our bottle was empty. The restaurant & washrooms were very clean. The only thing is the choice is limited for dim sum selections compared to other dim sum places.View more

Yin Ji is a casual diner offering some simple Cantonese classics of congee & cheung fun, & a bit more.
The congee is well-seasoned with a smooth & almost creamy consistency. The cheung fun were silky & the seasoned soy sauce was lightly sweet without being overpowering.
The cheung fun have a great texture, but perhaps the price is a little steep for what they are. Cheung fun are typically such simple & casual dishes made with inexpensive ingredients. I almost have trouble justifying the 10$+ post-tax price for a plate, & that's in the mid-range of what they offer for cheung fun.
I also did not love the iceberg lettuce in the cheung fun & would prefer they be served without it. The lettuce is wilted & wet, & does not leave enough room for the silkiness of the cheung fun to shine.
Ordering can only be done online via the QR-code that is made available on every table. While we understand most people have smartphones & can access this link, unfortunately much of the Asian demographic in Brossard is of the elderly who are unlikely to have a smartphone. The staff was understanding enough of this concern & was able to provide us with a physical menu for our elder, but also warned us that the menu was outdated & the online menu should be referenced instead.
All in all, the food was good for what it is: simple, casual, filling, & hits the spot for those who are a little homesick for something traditional. Perhaps if you are coming to eat with elderly Chinese folk who may be frugal & a little judgemental, don't tell them how much you spent on their meal.View more
I recently visited Yin Ji after hearing about their moving, wow I love their new renovation, The space is even more bright, modern, & welcoming, with a perfect balance of traditional charm & fresh design. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable when you're out with family or loved ones.
The dim sum was absolutely delicious - everything was hot, fresh, & full of flavor. You can tell they use fresh ingredients & keep the flavors authentic.
What really stood out was the friendly & attentive service. The staff made us feel right at home & were happy to explain the menu & offer suggestions.
