Overall Yakitori Hibahihi is described as an exciting, almost authentic Japanese yakitori experience in Montreal, with standout skewers cooked over charcoal and a thoughtful menu that includes sashimi, cold and hot dishes, and a strong sake and wine list. The atmosphere is repeatedly praised as warm, intimate, stylish, and vibrant, with attentive staff guiding guests through the tasting and making friends and family feel welcome. Service is generally highlighted as excellent and passionate, with notes about pacing and getting advice from the staff to balance orders, and a hot towel ritual that sets a welcoming tone. While the food is widely loved for flavor, some reviewers note that prices can be high for portion size and that a few dishes can feel dry or underseasoned, and that the menu can be confusing at times. Nevertheless, most guests would return to try more skewers and explore the sake and cocktail options, appreciating the overall vibe and the quality that makes this place stand out.
What a wonderful dining experience @Hibahihi! From food quality to service to the restaurant vibes, everything is super cool. Very authentic Yakitori & all kinds of food, we did love the sashimi, pickles, yakitori & ramen 😋
A bit pricey, Yakitori tasted really good, but chirashi was a bit mediocre, not very fresh;
Portion of each plate was pretty small.
The vibe feels authentically Japanese.
They have a wide selection of saké.
Always a delight coming back to Yakitori Hibahihi. There's something really comforting about this place, it reminds me of the times when I just want to enjoy some great skewers on my own & unwind. The atmosphere is warm & relaxing, & the food never disappoints. The shishito is an absolute must-try. Definitely one of my favorite spots.
Everything was delicious. They had a nice Sake selection. The place felt super cozy & our waiter was very knowledgeable. Im still thinking about the hojicha cholate mousse I had waw.

I was excited to try this restaurant as I love the concept but was unfortunately disappointed. The taste of the food was average & despite ordering many plates, I still left the restaurent hungry. Not worth it at all for the value. The atmosphere of the restaurent & the service was good however. Overall, I would not return.
Magnifique ambiance, belle découverte culinaire, tout était excellent , frais simple & savoureux & la sélection de Saké incroyable
Merci à toute l'équipe pour cette belle soirée & votre gentillesse.
Very authentic but pricey. It came out to around $100 per person tax & tips included. But you're paying for quick service & truly delicious yakitori. You can really taste the char of the grill, & it's high quality charcoal that is used. (If you've been to Otto around the year 2016, you will be pleased to know the chef responsible for yakitoris there is the one who opened this restaurant.) I would definitely come again for a good time with friends.

We had such a great experience at this yakitori place! Alicia, our waitress, was incredibly sweet & made us feel so welcome from the start. She even had my husband try several different sakes, & every single one was amazing.
A big thank you as well to the busboy & the hostess who kindly found us a spot last minute for 3 it was truly appreciated. The service was excellent all around, & the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
The food was incredible, there wasn't anything I didn't find completely delicious. Sake selection was great & very attentive service. It's on the pricier side for sure but it feels like a high end experience.

This place is so good, such a great downtown find. Food was so good & the service was so good. Everyone was nice. Try all the skewers & matcha tiramisu ☺?
Un écrin magnifique qui accueille une cuisine exquise, servie avec professionnalisme & chaleur par un personnel dévoué & curieux. On a laissé carte blanche & avons passé une magnifique soirée, les recommandations de saké étaient parfaites.
Amazing food, vibe & drinks. It's a bit on the pricey end. I'd give 5 stars, but our waiter wasn't wearing any deodorant & the smell was unpleasantly overpowering each time he came at the table.
