My boyfriend & I had a really great experience here. Surprisingly, they served the best potato salad we've ever had in our lives! Definitely not something we expected to find at a Japanese restaurant, but trust me, it was absolutely incredible & is a must-order.
The atmosphere was lovely, & we sat right in front of the chefs while they cooked, which was really fun to watch. It did get quite hot at the counter, so I was a little uncomfortable in my sweater. If you're seated there, I'd recommend dressing a bit lighter.
The food was fresh, beautifully presented, & the service was friendly throughout the evening. We'd definitely come back & highly recommend giving this place a try!
Besides the nice decor I've had better yakitori. I wish I liked it more, but disappointing. Service was friendly & *fine* but not without mistakes. There were mishaps with what I ordered & what got delivered. So in the end, I was not that full at the end of the meal because of the missing dish. Could I have let them know to add it on, yes, but by the way things were going, I was defeated. They claimed I decided not to order the item & if they say that what can I say? I just accepted it because the customer is wrong right. In that scenario you can claim I said that, but offer to make it right & ask, may I put the order in for you? Instead, he just left it awkward. Many times throughout dinner the server gave me the vibe as I was wrong & they were right & I let them believe that as I don't believe in causing friction when dining (in my past worked at a Michelin guide yakitori in San Francisco as well as Michelin star restaurant before). I know the size of yakitori dishes so I definitely ordered exactly what I intended. The fermented cucumber dish was way too acidic. I NEVER send back food but I had to with this one. I could not eat more. Server kept mentioning the words fermented when I said I didn't like it which made it awkward. Not all fermented food need to be sour. If paired with meat it's acceptable but then it should never be plated in those portions. It could be offered as a small'banchan', but the size of that thing was just flat out weird. The cucumber was also soft & not crunchy where I was eating an actual American pickle from the grocery store. Asian cucumber dishes should always have crunch. The other veggies in the dish were equally too acidic & lacked any sort of crunch. Lastly, I was on my last bite of my dessert & the host out of no where comes by & swoops it away without even asking if I'm done. When that happens you just let it go but it always feels rude. I also had nothing to say because it was too awkward as he was so smiley & on his mission to clear the table. The matcha tiramisu while beautiful & good it lacked any refinement. It was very sweet where Japanese desserts are not always that sweet, it could've been toned down to showcase the matcha. Winning dishes are chicken thigh & sashimi. Overall this is a'fun' place to go with friends but as a solo diner I just saw too clearly & could not help but focus on the flaws.

Definitely amazing, the food was delicious the service so nice & the sake list us great ! We had so much fun!
