The creation of young, up and coming Montreal restaurateurs, Wienstein & Gavino’s debuted in Montreal in 1996. W&G is a large Mediterranean restaurant spanning two floors and complimented by two terraces in the summer months. A large bar is the focal point of the first floor while the open kitchen complete with brick pizza oven is the main attraction upstairs. W&G is best known for its fresh, homemade pasta and traditional sauces and thin crust pizza. There is also a good selection of steaks, veal, and seafood. W&G serves lunch and dinner every day with a weekly table d’hôte available daily at $12-$16 for lunch and starting at $23 for dinner. In addition, a selection of pizza and pasta is available for 10$ from 11a.m. until 3p.m. for the lunch crowd and after 10pm every day for late night diners looking for a meal after the game, a concert downtown or before hitting the dance floor. W&G can also accommodate groups and can plan your party for you whether you’ve invited 10 people or 300 people! From Monday to Friday there is a “happy hour” at the W&G bar where guests can enjoy 2 for 1 from 4pm until 8pm. After cocktails at the bar, you can choose from one of the largest wine cellars in the city, stocked with reasonably priced wines, private imports, or premium fine wines. The service was excellent & I even took a chance to order the waitress suggested. Fabulous 👌. Nice selection of good wines, fun atmosphere & pretty busy on a Friday night.
Ce restaurant italien à Montréal est bien plus qu'un endroit pour manger : c'est une véritable expérience. En tant que descendant d'Italiens, dîner à l'étage m'a donné l'impression de retourner chez ma grand-mère : un endroit chaleureux, rempli d'affection, avec des plats qui ont le goût de mon enfance. Il ne manquait qu'un classique du nord de l'Italie (Vénétie & Trentin) : la polenta croccante con gallettino arrosto.
Le service a été excellent du début à la fin. Toute l'équipe est sympathique, attentionnée & très professionnelle. Les serveurs méritent une mention spéciale : rapides, souriants & toujours prêts à aider.
Au rez-de-chaussée, le bar est plein de charme. Les cocktails sont créatifs, très bien préparés & le service y est tout aussi impeccable.
Un endroit où tradition, saveur & hospitalité se rencontrent d'une manière unique à Montréal.

My group & I had an amazing experience! We enjoyed our drinks & food a lot, & it was great quality food. Our server Tony was very kind, caring & made the evening entertaining & enjoyable 🤗 Great view as well of the nice city lights
We went to Wienstein & Gavino's to celebrate a birthday & had a great experience. The food was excellent, & we especially loved the calamari appetizer.
The Pasta Sofia & the steak were also excellent, & the mojito was very refreshing. For dessert, the chocolate cheesecake was my favorite.
The restaurant was quite busy, but the service was still very fast. Our appetizers & main dishes arrived quickly & everything was perfectly timed.
A special thank you to our server, Meghan. She was incredibly friendly, patient, & professional. She made us feel very welcome & took great care of us throughout the evening.
Overall, the food, the service, & the atmosphere were all wonderful. We will definitely come back again!

Returning to W&G, we enjoyed a flavorful burrata bruschetta & incredibly cheesy mac & cheese. While the pesto pasta was good, the chicken felt bland. Sam provided great service, even recommending the homemade tiramisu. Overall, it remains a solid choice for a pleasant dining experience.
They made us wait for 40 minutes at the door for a table that was reserved in anticipation.
We were stopped at the door saying the full party of 18 needed to be present to be seated. Twelve of us were present hoping to order drinks & apps while waiting for the person whose birthday we were celebrating.
When asked to be seated instead of standing by the door, the manager was defensive of their policy instead of accommodating for us as the clients.
It used to be a great place for large groups, with a reliable & speedy experience, but management is choosing to be less accommodating
Je suis très déçu de mon expérience dans ce restaurant. Le service était vraiment mauvais. Les serveurs n'étaient pas accueillants & semblaient manquer totalement de respect envers les clients. Nous avons attendu longtemps sans raison, & lorsque nous avons posé des questions, le personnel répondait de façon froide & impatiente.
Ce qui est encore plus préoccupant, c'est que j'ai eu l'impression que certains clients étaient traités différemment, notamment les personnes d'origine indienne. Dans un restaurant, tout le monde devrait être accueilli avec le même respect & la même courtoisie.
Je ne recommande pas cet endroit tant que le service & l'attitude du personnel ne s'améliorent pas.

Très mauvaise expérience dans ce restaurant. Les serveuses ne sont vraiment pas gentilles & manquent clairement de respect envers les clients. On a l'impression de déranger plutôt que d'être les bienvenus. Le service est froid & désagréable, & personne ne semble se soucier de l'expérience des clients. Je ne recommande pas cet endroit si vous cherchez un minimum de respect & de courtoisie.

We were all shocked on how good the food & cocktails were & the staff were very nice too. It can be too loud sometimes since this is a huge restaurant but overall very amazing place! I will definitely come back
Ariane was our server & she was so pleasant & polite. The food was delicious, reasonably priced & the portions were on the larger side. Highly recommend
When I think of Italian food, I don't usually think of Montreal, but having said that, this place is amazing. Some of the best Italian that I've ever had. If you're in downtown Montreal for business or pleasure, I highly recommend stopping in here, grabbing a seat at the bar, & trying some of their amazing pasta & one of Francois' famous lemon drop martinis.
