The food looked so good, but it didn't taste as good. I ordered the shakshuka - a bit of salt would've made a big difference. It was a very slow morning because of the rain, & there was only one other table of two, so it wasn't even busy. I waited for my waitress to come by to ask if everything was okay, but she never came back to check or see if I needed anything. I ended up not eating after just one bite. Water wasn't given in the first place, & when I wanted some, she still never returned after taking my order.
My partner ordered the French toast, & the pistachio sauce was too watery, while the toast itself was too soggy. I took my shakshuka home, added a bit of salt, & was finally able to eat it.
If there's going to be no service at all, why not just make it self-service? Why call it table service? Why ask for a tip?

Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff & owners, The pastries & desserts are out of this world, especially their Tres Leches cakes. A must try.
Disclaimer: Don't come here if you are on a diet, their pastries are impossible to resist. :D
Had a delicious cherry matcha to go! So unique & tasty. I would recommend stirring first. Had to ask for a straw, cause all the flavour was at the bottom.
This is my favorite cafe right now!
1. The tres leches cakes were spooky delicious & moist. We got a pistachio cake which I could smell the real pistachio! The Ferrero cake was not as good, the hazelnut taste was mild, but still delicious. Our Mexican friends confirmed the quality of these cakes.
2. The French toast was done perfectly! A thick slice of brioche bread, crispy outside & pudding inside, with amazing dolce de leches syrup. However, it was not a big portion (at least not for a brunch)
3. We also had Dutch baby shakshuka, again, perfectly done.
The service also was so good, they were so nice & polite. Everywhere was very clean, with nice plates & cups.
Overall, one of the best cafes I've tried in Montreal. I will definitely go again for the cakes but also for trying other pastries.
Velora Café is a beautiful new spot in Montreal! I didn't get the chance to try their coffee or desserts yet, but the decor alone makes it worth visiting it's impressive, cozy, & gives such a peaceful vibe.
I also had a nice chat with one of the team members, Nika, who was super kind & friendly. She took the time to answer all my questions with a smile. Can't wait to go back soon to try their menu
