Located in the popular neighborhood of Village/Centre-Sud in Montreal, it is becoming increasingly difficult to choose among the many Japanese restaurants that are sprouting like mushrooms. Fortunately for everyone, restaurant Uchi on Amherst Street is here to reassure us that there's nothing to worry about, this is a true Japanese restaurant.
Uchi proposes a unique and varied menu consisting of appetizers, seafood and tasty rolls. Their mouth-watering small hors d'oeuvres will beautifully compliment the delicious main meals of this unrivaled cuisine. We can also find on the menu some specialties such as sushi, tuna Tataki, spicy scallop roll and beef sashimi. Furthermore, we added Szechuan cuisine to our menu. This cuisine is prepared with spices that will warm up any adventurer.
Although the decor is of a sleek and modern Japanese style, you will quickly figure out that you will not be coming back here for it's decor alone, but also for the very high quality food that is served to you!

I've eaten there a few times the staff & service is always top level. The food is great. the portions are rather large, the rice is amazing, best sushi I've eaten in a long time.

The sushi is super good quality. I loved their lychee roll, absolutely delicious. Their prices are super fair. My partner & I ate a ton of food for 50$ each with tips & tax. Service was great. The servers were very caring & attentive. I really liked everything I ate, specially the garlic mushrooms. If you are looking for a great sushi place rhat is BYOB, look no further. The matha ice cream was also delicious!

J'ai commandé les nouilles croustillantes au boeuf. Les nouilles ont été frites fraîches. La préparation est traditionnelle.
Tout de même, le prix est plus élevé que des restaurants chinois comparables. Je pense que le service & l'ambiance justifient un tel tarif.
Nous avons récemment visité le restaurant Ushi en groupe. Lors de la réservation, nous avons pris un bateau pour 3 personnes, mais nous étions finalement 5 personnes à table.
Sur place, on nous a imposé des frais supplémentaires de 25 $, sous prétexte que le restaurant « ne ferait pas assez d'argent avec nous », étant donné qu'il s'agit d'un restaurant apportez votre vin. Cette justification est inacceptable :
• Aucun frais de ce type ne nous avait été mentionné à l'avance
• Le fait que le restaurant soit apportez votre vin ne devrait jamais servir de prétexte pour facturer arbitrairement des clients
• Nous avons tous consommé & payé notre repas, pour un coût d'environ 40 $ par personne, ce qui n'est pas négligeable
Après discussion, les 25 $ ont été retirés, mais l'attitude du personnel était clairement mécontente & désagréable, ce qui a nui à l'expérience globale.
Un restaurant ne devrait jamais faire sentir à ses clients qu'ils sont un « mauvais groupe » ou qu'ils ne consomment pas assez, surtout lorsque les règles ne sont pas clairement annoncées à l'avance.
Malheureusement, cette situation laisse une impression très négative & nous fait hésiter à revenir chez Ushi.
This place has been our go-to for many years & never disappoints. We do takeout a lot & go to the restaurant every once in a while. I've always been a bit doubtful of places that have too many different types of items on their menu but honestly, this place is the best & the sushi always tastes so fresh. The staff is always very nice, service is quick, prices are fair, & love the Byob.
The restaurant does get loud/echoey, could use some acoustic panels & they could use softer indirect lighting instead of the downlights, but it's still a cozy spot.

Nous essayer aux moins 30 resto de shushi & aucun arrive proche de la qualité & sourtous des différents saveur des shushi il sont toute si bon quon est plus capable d'aller ailleurs pour des shushi nous faisons 60klm a chaque fois pour manger nos shushi on aime mieux sans passer que de manger des shushi ailleurs ces la meilleur place & de loins de shushi & le chef Kenny est si attentionné a faire des shushi parfait on y reconnaît sa passion !!
