About

Tsujiri Montreal specializes in authentic Japanese tea-based treats, highlighting high-quality matcha and toasted hojicha in both chilled and warm preparations. The menu balances these rich, earthy tea profiles with sweet pastries, soft-serve parfaits, and savory warm noodle bowls like ramen and soba. Each item emphasizes natural ingredients, from the deep green powder in the drinks to the tender texture of the noodle dishes. The interior provides an open, modern setting equipped with functional amenities such as wireless internet access for a quiet environment. Every dessert arrives with an aesthetic presentation, often layering textures through components like light jellies and syrups to balance the bolder flavors. This shop maintains a steady flow of traditional Japanese snacks alongside these signature tea creations.

Review Summary

Tsujiri Montreal is widely recognized as a premier destination for high-quality, authentic matcha, offering an extensive menu of lattes, ice cream, and intricately crafted parfaits that appeal to dedicated green tea enthusiasts. Visitors frequently praise the rich, balanced flavors of both their sweet and savory offerings, including ramen and noodle dishes, noting that the atmosphere often evokes a calming, Japanese-inspired experience. While many guests appreciate the availability of seating, free wifi, and charging outlets, others find the space can become quite noisy, crowded, and occasionally inconsistent in service or cleanliness. Opinions on pricing are mixed, as some patrons find the premium cost justified by the quality, while others suggest portions or ingredient ratios, such as the amount of jelly in parfaits, could be improved for better value.

Good matcha soft serve ice cream! 🍦

The place decor is nice, it got a separated area for drinks & food. They are specialized in matcha drinks/ ice cream. I took the regular matcha ice cream parfait, but I found the taste too bitter! The combination of the things inside does not work well together. I don't know, left disappointed mainly because of the too much bitter taste of matcha.

Beautiful cafe with great pastries, ice cream & matcha! The service felt a bit bland & cold, but otherwise lovely cafe.

My former favorite has become increasingly unpalatable. The matcha latte is bland, & the ice cream is loaded with a bunch of random, unremarkable toppings to justify spending $10. The price has gone up, but the quality has declined. The ambiance is also worse; it used to be quiet & elegant, but now it feels like a market, where you have to shout to order. The counter is so wide that you have to lean forward to barely communicate with the staff.

Everything matcha is delicious...best matcha ice cream. The soft serve is so good! Also very good ramen & poke bowls. Great casual dinner or dropping in for dessert. The parfaits are amazing. Wish they stayed open later in the summer though.

Tsujiri is THE most famous green tea brand in all Japan. Consequently they usually also have the best dark green tea ice cream in the world. However at this branch they did not offer the typical 3 flavor tiers of green tea ice cream (mild, medium, dark) & only the generic mild which is not what they are famous for… yuzu tea is good. Otherwise I do not recommend. Zenmai Matcha around the corner has a slightly better generic mild green tea ice cream (probably Maeda-En supplier?)

I like the atmosphere of this place. I've been here a couple times & its usually packed so there can be a little wait for seating. The matcha is very strong & not too sweet, but it is a little pricey. After tax I paid a little over $10 for a matcha latte, but it is very tasty. The dessert is good as well. I also love that there is free wifi & outlets to charge your devices. Next time im definitely trying their ice cream!

I loved the matcha ice cream with mochis! The matcha flavor is rich & makes the ice cream feel light instead of heavy & creamy. It's super refreshing & not too sweet at all!

However, I didn't like that they added about half a cup of jelly, it was way too much & really affected the overall taste & texture of the ice cream. On the plus side, I enjoyed the red bean; its sweetness balanced the ice cream nicely, keeping it from being just bitter matcha with a light texture, & making it sweeter & more flavorful overall.

The portion is a little small, but this is a great spot to hang out, study, or just relax.

They have great quality matcha for the price, & it's bigger shop than imagined. With modern & calm room decorations that's black. & oh, I love their ice cream! I am a big Matcha fan, so I love that their matcha desserts & drinks taste more'bitter' & tea-like than your usual matcha store. They also offer free wifi, since there are a lot of students around. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a good study place there. During the many times I went there, it's often crowded & kind of noisy.
