Honestly, I kinda feel scammed! We were here for a birthday dinner which was book a whole month in advance. When we arrived, they didn't have a table for us & moved our reservation time to an hour ahead without warning. When we called a month in advance to also let them know that since it was a birthday dinner, we would be bringing a cake, they never let us know about their "cake policy" which is $25 just to have it in store. When we arrived & she asked us if we wanted the whole "cake show" thing for $25, we said no. We cut this cake ourselves, didn't even ask for the sparkler that was brought out, just at the end for us to be charged $30 for NO REASON. Transparency is clearly an issue here, no managers available to talk to & honestly the only thing that was good was our waitress Sheridan, an Asian girl that was super super sweet! I went there with my husband last night & we had a fantastic experience. We sat at the bar & we tried different cocktails. You can literally pick any cocktail from the menu & you will be wonderfully surprised with the unique tastes. Our favorites were Éwé, Fré & the rum punch.
The food is out of this world. We tried the coconut shrimps, which was a bit spicy, but nonetheless delicious. Then We tried the fish with the rice & we ended with the cheese dip. The bar stuff were so attentive & truly made our experience unforgettable. All in all it was wonderful. We will definitely go back. Recommend 10/10

I came for the culinary experience during dinner time, & stayed for the music. My friends & I really enjoyed the experience & go back any other night during the week for drinks, dinner, & for the music. We went out for date night, dining & cocktails. It wasn't the first time. I personally love it for the well mannered staff throughout, our barkeep/entertainer Kodjo delivered in all the ways that matters; from his flare to his warm presence, he made sure we were embracing the full experience .. we left completely fulfilled. He even kept'em coming, with perfect timing👌🏾 the food always so amazing!! No matter what you eat, your eyes will roll back! I most definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a flavourful meal, in a place that delivers plenty on ambiance, beautiful staff always smiling, there is even a room for your parties (book by phone or online/reserve) & you know Chef Jae Anthony is incomparable when it comes to taste 🫡 Tropikal is an amazing supper club that I CANNOT wait to go back to!

Drove to Montreal to eat at Tropikal & they did not disappoint (Definitely worth the drive). We appreciate the last minute accommodation to dine-in on a Friday night. Terrific atmosphere with great & attentive staff. Love the variation of food offerings & the portions were considerably large. The food was so appealing that we forgot to take photos before eating, however, you can't go wrong with their menu as they offer an array of food & everything tasted delicious. Compliments to the chef(s) for the delicious dishes, & our server Stacey for taking care of us for the night. We plan on coming back here again to try the rest of the menu.

We loved the ambiance the drinks were good ..could be a little stronger but we recommend you get the strawberry mojito it really was a breeze of fresh air with a hint of get me ready for the after party (hip/hop /Afro beats )which are on fridays & Saturdays we went on a Saturday now let's get to the food the star of the show was the Rasta pasta , the jerk chicken & the guava wings are a must the jerk was seasoned to a T , the Rasta pasta was a mix up of Haitian , Trinidadian & African flavors all mixed into one you can add meat of your choosing for extra we got the lobster but it's also stands on its own the Mac & cheese was good if you like a milder cheesy pasta dish & don't sleep on the cheesy callalloo dip w/ the plantain chips ! The chef was really cool he touched on his inspirations for the dishes as well as the fact he changes the menu every 6 months which we will be back to check it out for the next menu! It is definitely a vibe our server Danielle is the best & was filled w/ recommendations 2 things 1. get there on Time 2 hr seating only & 2.have the best time !

We found this an odd experience...overall good food but poor service, & one of the rum drinks (tropikal passion) tasted like water. It took a long time for anyone to greet us or take drink orders. Our server spent more time on her iPad than talking to us, & was confused by our order each time. We liked the jerk chicken wings, ceviche was weird & soupy, great prawn tacos. They were out of oysters (though I saw a platter go by), & no mint meant our drink order wasn't possible (but mint is not mentioned in the drink description). We also ordered the po' boy sandwich, which never arrived. We'd had enough, so used the e-payment system (no sign of the sandwich on the bill) & quickly left. Would not recommend - decent food doesn't make up for poor service & drinks missing alcohol.
