The soup base is so rich & heavy in flavour. They should open up their own spot. Whenever Its cold out, or I'm craving for ramen, this is where i go. & free parking for up to 4 hours, so win win
As someone who just got back from Japan, I have to say this was quite lovely. Took the tonkotsu ramen & it was very tasty, broth was rich but not overly fatty, porc was wonderful. Only negative side is getting a plastic spoon, it should not be a thing.
Ramen Paitan was absolutely delicious. Taste was very rich! Definitely will be back!
I tried the Tori Paitan ramen & really enjoyed it! The highlight was the incredible broth, full of rich flavors. Chicken slices were moist & delicious. Though I didn't like the caramelized onion in the soup. Flavor was good but the texture wasn't enjoyable. Soy eggs could also be more marinated & flavorful.
Overall a very satisfying meal! The kind & welcoming service also made the experience even better. Looking forward to trying their other ramen options.
Tori - A Bold, Beautiful Bite of Modern Japan in Royalmount
Tori at Royalmount delivers more than a meal-it offers an experience. The atmosphere is modern & moody in the best way, setting the tone for what's to come. The outdoor terrace is delightful… you forget that there's a busy highway nearby.
I had the mazemen with mushrooms, truffle oil, & egg yolk-& I'm still thinking about it. Rich, umami-packed, & perfectly indulgent without being overdone. The kind of dish that quiets a table mid-conversation. Every bite was earthy, silky, & deeply satisfying.
The service was seamless & attentive, & the entire vibe felt intentional-from the lighting to the soundtrack to the beautiful plating.
If you're looking for a place that blends Japanese tradition with upscale flair, Tori nails it. Come hungry, leave in awe.
It's alright. There's so much better around the city. Been twice & tried 2 different ramen, & both were overly salty. & price/serving is slightly higher than much better places. But then again, I guess this place caters to the rich & posh that go to royalmount.
Tried three ramen-Shoyu, Shio, & Miso-& each one was excellent. The broth was rich, flavorful, & well-balanced, just like an authentic Japanese ramen shop. However, I felt the addition of more cabbage & bean sprouts (moyashi) would enhance both the presentation & authenticity.
The karaage chicken was crispy & tasty, but with only four pieces per plate, I was hoping for a bit more. A slightly larger portion would definitely make it more satisfying.
One small issue was the chopsticks-they were a bit thick at the bottom, making them less comfortable to use. A slightly more tapered design would improve the experience.
The ambience inside the restaurant is great, with comfortable seating in the new mall location. The pricing is slightly on the higher side, but considering the excellent taste, it's still reasonable.
Overall, a great place for ramen lovers in Montreal.......will definitely return.
Tried the tori paitan (rich chicken broth) & enjoyed it. It was the perfect balance of richness & saltiness. Caramelized onions were a nice/unique touch. The chicken slices were not too dry but didn't taste much. Portion was good with plenty of noodles.
The prices are what you'd expect for a ramen restaurant. I found the broth flavours not very rich, it was pretty bland in my opinion compared to many other ramen restaurants I've tried, & I've had many tonkotsu ramens. The chashu, however, was tasty.
