We ordered:
- Ramen Tonkotsu
- Ramen Kara
- Chicken Karaage
Foods arrived pretty fast, Ramen broth was really balanced in a good way, & we killed the Karaage :)
I always order at this place & always order tonkotsu & they're always sooo good. But I noticed recently that the broth tasted different & the pork slices changed like they substituted it with bacon. Its still good but im kind of disappointed.
As someone who just got back from Japan, I have to say this was quite lovely. Took the tonkotsu ramen & it was very tasty, broth was rich but not overly fatty, porc was wonderful. Only negative side is getting a plastic spoon, it should not be a thing.
I tried the Tori Paitan ramen & really enjoyed it! The highlight was the incredible broth, full of rich flavors. Chicken slices were moist & delicious. Though I didn't like the caramelized onion in the soup. Flavor was good but the texture wasn't enjoyable. Soy eggs could also be more marinated & flavorful.
Overall a very satisfying meal! The kind & welcoming service also made the experience even better. Looking forward to trying their other ramen options.
Very disapointed. Karaage chicken was dry & a but cold. Broth didn't have enough flavord. The pork was dry. The noodles were good.
Very honest review. The tonkatso ramen is just OK. Wouldn't order again. Very very plain, noodles are meh, broth is just ok but also nothing to remember. Pork is dry. Just a very meh experience..I just came back from Japan & was excited to try the ramen. 2/5 is being generous.
Really good broth! We tried the sapporo black ramen with takoyaki, & (unpictured) the tonkotsu ramen. Both are very flavorful. The shop is located in a good-looking food court at Royalmount, we will visit again!
I'm into authentic good quality ramen & this wasn't it at all. The tonkotsu broth had a watered down onion/garlic powder taste with none of the complex umami simmered pork flavor. The pork was some tough bacon slices, not the flavorful tender thick pork belly you'd expect. The noodles were also relatively low quality. Even the kikurage didn't have its usual crunch, it felt like maybe it wasn't fresh. Oh, & there is an excessive layer of flavorless fat on top. Good tonkotsu should have flavorful fat emulsified in the broth, not a super thick layer floating on top that's gross.
I love ittt, the broth is perfect, not satlty like other places that i've tried. Must try their takoyaki!!
My fav spot to eat ramen😋😋
Tried three ramen-Shoyu, Shio, & Miso-& each one was excellent. The broth was rich, flavorful, & well-balanced, just like an authentic Japanese ramen shop. However, I felt the addition of more cabbage & bean sprouts (moyashi) would enhance both the presentation & authenticity.
The karaage chicken was crispy & tasty, but with only four pieces per plate, I was hoping for a bit more. A slightly larger portion would definitely make it more satisfying.
One small issue was the chopsticks-they were a bit thick at the bottom, making them less comfortable to use. A slightly more tapered design would improve the experience.
The ambience inside the restaurant is great, with comfortable seating in the new mall location. The pricing is slightly on the higher side, but considering the excellent taste, it's still reasonable.
Overall, a great place for ramen lovers in Montreal.......will definitely return.
The ramen is good.this place is inside of the new shopping mall in Montreal'RoyalMount'. & the ambience is refreshing.
The broth of the ramen is so good..
Highly recommended 👌 👍
Tried the tori paitan (rich chicken broth) & enjoyed it. It was the perfect balance of richness & saltiness. Caramelized onions were a nice/unique touch. The chicken slices were not too dry but didn't taste much. Portion was good with plenty of noodles.
Tasty broth, minuscule quantities of pork or chicken, not very much food overall for $20 per. I mean, the whole mall is kind of absurd, I can't imagine it lasting very long.
Dark Sapporo broth is AAA+ WOW 🤩 Honestly one of the best tasting soups ever. A truly authentic experience.
The prices are what you'd expect for a ramen restaurant. I found the broth flavours not very rich, it was pretty bland in my opinion compared to many other ramen restaurants I've tried, & I've had many tonkotsu ramens. The chashu, however, was tasty.
Good place for ramen. Tasty broth. I took Tonkotsu, found it a bit salty but still enjoy it. Quick service even during lunch hours. Suggest trying their dry ramen without broth I believe called Mazamen, apologies if spelled differently. Prices are pretty fair for the quality of the food
