Prix non attractifs voir cher pour un supposé streetfood sur table en plastique...cuisine ordinaire, rien de spectaculaire comparé aux autres restaurants vietnamiens montréalais.
The service is amazing, very kind. The food is good but it's small portions for the price (20$) per plate. The pâté was nice. The bun bo hue was good but a bit over spicy & less aromatic than the usual. Call for reservation is recommended
Saw a video online so we came, & it was very disappointing. The food was very mediocre, especially the soup (forgot the name but it was with porc & crab) - quite frankly it was disgusting, very fishy, smell like cat food & taste like rotten seafood… Plus, we waited more than half an hour until the first plate was served.
The food was super good. They menu is very small but what they have is very good. The place it tiny so u must make a reservation if u wanna it there. Service was good. I took a star off because the music was a bit too loud for me. Couldn't hear people on my table & we were next to the exit so I was mad cold.
Amazing vietnamese restaurant, they were out of a LOT (maybe 50%) of their menu when I went so would be careful if you want one specific dish
Super expérience, la nourriture était délicieuse. Il faut simplement appeler à l'avance pour s'assurer que la soupe est disponible!
Stumbled onto this place while walking on the street - even though it was 5:30 pm on a Saturday night & I had no reservation I was welcomed in to sit at the back bar. What a delightful surprise - great food at a great price, great atmosphere, & truly nice crew (I met a new waiter - his first day on the job - the house manager, & the chef, all of whom briefly chatted with me.)
On waiter Brandon's recommendation, I ordered the Cahn Ga (chicken wings) appetizer & was instantly hooked - among the best I've ever had! Generously sized, three big wings with perfectly cooked, tender meat in a delicious crisp coating, subtly spiced with a bit of sauce & herbs. It was so good I ended up ordering a to-go order to bring home to my wife! At $8 per order this was an absolute deal.
Also at his suggestion I had the main course soup, Bun Rieu - a generously portioned & lovely bowl (see photo) that featured a tangy (but not spicy) red broth with herbs & vegetable garnish, lots of vermicelli-like soft rice noodles, satisfying slices of baked tofu, & featuring unusual (& tasty)'meatballs' of mixed ground pork & crab paste, which filled me up quite happily.
In talking to chef Galaxy (as he introduced himself) I learned that his goal was to bring reasonably priced Vietnamese'street food' to the public, being mindful of how difficult it is to present affordable & tasty food to the neighborhood in these times. I'd say he succeeded admirably!
The decor was vibrant & fun - colorful paper lanterns, a lovely & inviting entrance full of Vietnamese signs & memorabilia, & a cheery if deliberately low-key vibe. & pleasant, not-too-loud background music, a big plus.
As one of the customers leaving as I went it said, this place has great, authentic food. I'll be back. I'm no expert on Vietnamese street food, but I know what well-executed & delicious, good quality food at a good price can be. This place hits the mark.
