Authentic food, generous portions, amazing staff & owners, homey atmosphere. My wife is Greek & we've eaten there with her family several times. They've always loved it & so have I! I originally went there to show support after hearing they gave free meals to the needy during covid lockdowns. Now I stop by whenever I'm in the area, or having a big family gathering. Oh, & if you drink, it's a BYOB! (I've done take out as well, food quality was the same.)
i have been to Thanos several times , never ordered the octopus & never will again . I cannot understand how a greek chef can make such an aweful dish , it was cold ,it was chewy , it was drowned in some balsamic reduction , it basically had no taste & was overpowered with capers & onions.Portion was ridiculously small & super overpriced ,it was chopped up instead of it being served whole like in greece with tentacles seared & plated properly . I am a home chef & i can make this dish 10 times better at a fraction of the cost . 2 ,do not order veg pita dish either .just not good at all .That being said ,service is A1 & atmosphere is A1 . Stick to the pikilia & other meat dishes (exept souflaki sticks,dry !) .This is an honest review ,i call it the way i taste it .
Scrolling Google looking for a resto & found Terrasse Thanos. Went on a Friday warm evening, was greeted by a smiling waitress, & chose to sit outside on a fully occupied terrasse. Didn't take long to get a table & asked what the authentic dishes were on the menu. I was recommended to try the seafood grilled platter, which includes crispy calamari, grilled octopus, shrimp & salmon accompanied by rice, potatoes, & salad. All was delicious. For dessert we chose homemade cheesecake which was fantastic. So glad we found this little gem. The staff is very attentive & made us feel welcome. We had the great pleasure of being served by Harad, she was attentive, charming & professional. Let me say to the owner he's lucky to have her. Will be back for certain & very soon. Let me mention, we've been to other Greek restaurants, & so far none are comparable to Thanos.
This place is a sweet little gem in the plateau, with great Greek food, kind staff & a beautiful terrasse! The food is absolutely delicious every time, & there is nothing better than a restaurant that is byob!
Great Greek food, I had the souvlaki wrap & greek salad which were scrumptious & the restaurant itself is very nice. The service was also really good & the food came fast. Shout out to my server Hadar shes the best & they should give her a raise. Will definitely come back & try out the other dishes the next time I want Greek food in montreal ❤️🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷

I highly recommend Thanos restaurant. Home cooked meals made with Meraki ♥️ The calamari one of many favourites was made with perfection, a tender crispiness & so tasty you could not get enough of. We ordered the meat platter for two. Very generous portions the lamb chops melted in your mouth. The porc chops were grilled to perfection. The Greek loukaniko was good & the chicken was deliciously seasoned & so tender. Potato lovers the Greek potatoes are a must try equally the same for the rice simple but delicious. Another note worth mentioning the salad was served separately. No hot cold mix. The food & service quality was truly exceptional, a gem worth taking a drive for & you will definitely not rave disappointed. I can't wait to come back. Cheers! Maria V.

The bad: Even though the restaurant was empty inside (only busy on the terrace), the service was really not great. We had to ask to get our water refill, & it took a good 10min until they came back with the water. The server was almost never present, so most of the meal our glasses of water were empty. It also took a really long time to receive the main dish & for a table of 2 we didn't receive it at the same time. So one of us was almost done with their plate before the other received it. (It would have been cold if we had to wait for both plates to arrive) I understand it can happen for a big group of people, but a table of 2 & not sending the dishes at the same time is really not great. The pork souvlaki was good, but the chicken souvlaki inside the pita was really dry. Also, I don't suggest paying the extra 7 $ to get the greek salad instead of the house salad. The only difference between both was 3 olives, 3 little pieces of cheese, & one pepper. I would say it's probably more worth it if you choose the Ceasars or horiatiki salad instead of the greek. The good: the fried calamari was a bit chewy but overall good. the rice & potatoes were good, but the salad that is included with the main dishes comes as a starter before everything else. So if you like to eat your salad with the rest of your main dish, you can't. The great: the terrace is really pretty & calm, so the atmosphere is great during summer.
What a spot! Fantastic Greek food & great service, a perfect spot for a date or a night out with friends. The chicken kebab was tender & juicy, most places i know always end up with dry chicken but this place is the exception. The rice & crispy potatoes were perfect. Its a bring your own wine restaurant so you can pick up some wine across the street at the Dep & they'll even get an ice bucket to chill it for you. Definitely my new favourite spot for Greek food in the city!
I'm a little late on the review but better late than never. BEST GREEK FOOD EVER & their service is EVEN BETTER. My ex-boyfriend had ordered 2 plates for us a few days ago through Uber eats. We had requested no potatoes & substitute rice because we're on a bit of a diet. Now, when we received our food & they gave us potatoes & cheesecake for dessert as a gift "in case we changed our mind" about the potatoes... So my boyfriend ended up having the potatoes & I froze the cheesecake. Our diet is done in 49 days & needless to say, the FIRST thing I am having is that cheesecake. Thanks again Thanos for the incredible experience. Being in the service industry is really hard & you guys made our day, we appreciate you.
My experience at Terrasse Thanos was exceptional from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service & charming ambiance made for a memorable evening. Thank you Angelo for the hospitality & authentic tasty Greek food & Dennis for the top notch service. PS. Dennis, our son Sebastian is willing to give you a shot at redemption in another arm wrestle next time we visit!
The food was amazing! One of the best Greek restaurants I've been to! The owners are great people & care about their customers...the only reason why 4 stars on the service was im sure our waitress was new so she has a lot to learn but besides that definitely going back ASAP!
Having ordered delivery from here many times now, can say it's hands down the best takeout Greek in the area. Portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, & everything we order has so much great flavour. Can't wait to try it in person!!
One of my favorite Montreal greek restaurants. Authentic & cozy. The tzaziki, souvlaki & Horiatiki salad are always my go to. Great service & hospitality! Thanos is a BYOW with a beautiful terrace for the summer & heaters for the outside in the fall. Highly recommend!
A nice neighborhood restaurant serving up traditional Greek dishes. The outside terrace is very nice, & the street is not too noisy or congested. Overall, a nice evening out with friends.
