Late afternoon drinks on the roof terrace of Hotel Nelligan on a beautiful spring day. Great place to relax after a busy travel day. Terrific views of the river & old port area.

The terrace itself is beautiful, comfortable, & has a great atmosphere. Our server, Evgeniy, was pleasant, professional, & provided excellent service throughout the evening.
Unfortunately, the food experience did not match the quality or pricing of the restaurant. My wife & I ordered the seafood tower & were surprised by how small the oysters were compared to the appetizer of six oysters we had ordered earlier, which were excellent. The half lobster was also extremely small, & the claw had not been opened or cracked before serving.
We asked for assistance, & our server brought us nutcrackers. Because the shell was so hard, lobster liquid sprayed onto several people at our table, including my shirt & pants. For a restaurant positioned at this level, serving lobster without properly preparing it first is disappointing.
What was most frustrating was the lack of response from management. Our server informed the manager of the situation, but she never came to our table, acknowledged the issue, or offered an apology.
With a bill exceeding $800, we expected much better attention to detail & customer care. While the setting & service from Evgeniy were excellent, the food quality & management response left us disappointed.

We had a wonderful time on the beautiful rooftop terrace on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The view was spectacular, the food was great & the service was outstanding from start to finish. A special thank you to Philippe, our server, who made the experience even more enjoyable with his attentive & professional service. I would highly recommend this place & will definitely be returning.

One thing tough, my waiter was almost inexistant & when I saw him & try to call him or make eye contact he never looked my way or come to see me. To get my first drink was a struggle.
I finally had to ask another waitress from another section for a second drink & food. For the bill I ask that same waitress again. She was sweet & service was quicker with her.
My sister & I had a wonderful experience last week at Terrasse Nelligan. Our server, Malak, was especially delightful, friendly, & helpful! We enjoyed the terrace atmosphere, a delicious salad, & a St. Germaine cocktail (which was new to us) recommended by Malak . I highly recommend Terrasse Nelligan!
Nelligan Terrace is a top spot if you're looking for lively energy, stylish crowds, & stunning rooftop views. The atmosphere here is what really makes it: a retractable awning offers comfort whether you're enjoying the sun or hiding from a surprise rain shower, & the music is always popping, setting a vibrant tone without overwhelming conversation. It draws a young, attractive crowd, making it feel like a social scene worth checking out.
The food, however, is a mixed bag. The ceviche is definitely not what you'd expect if you're used to the bright, citrus-forward flavors of Mexican-style ceviche-it leans in a more neutral, subtle direction that might not satisfy traditional ceviche fans. The oysters are on the smaller side, but they pack solid flavor for their size. Skip the hummus-bland & forgettable. The chicken katsu sandwich is more of a classic fried chicken sandwich than a true katsu, but it's still tasty. The French fries are well-executed, crispy & seasoned just right, & the roasted butternut squash is a surprisingly solid choice if you're looking for a comforting side.
Drinks are another strong point here-well-balanced & thoughtfully made, perfect for enjoying while taking in the rooftop ambiance.
Overall, Nelligan Terrace is more about the experience & the setting than it is a foodie destination. That said, a few menu hits & good drinks keep it worth the visit. Just be sure to make a reservation-the place fills up quickly, & it's not one you'll want to miss.
Ambiance is great.. a rooftop terrace is always a treat. Food & drinks were on point... would love to come back. I suspect it might be a very busy spot on weekends & evenings. We came for a quick lunch. Lobster rolls were 👌🏾
We had a wonderful brunch on the terrace, which offered a beautiful view of old Montreal & a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were super nice, & the service struck a perfect balance - relaxed yet efficient.
The food was delicious, full of flavor & beautifully presented. It was a truly relaxing experience & a perfect way to start off a Sunday.
We'll definitely be coming back - this place is an absolute gem.
