Review Summary

Terracotta in Montreal offers a warm, intimate Tunisian dining experience with attentive staff, cozy ambiance, and a menu that invites guests to explore Tunisian flavors. Reviews highlight flavorful dishes such as gargoulette cooked in a terracotta vessel, octopus salad, lamb and chicken ojja, kafteji, brik, and seafood options, all prepared with balanced spices and generous portions at reasonable prices. The service is consistently praised for friendliness, knowledge about the cuisine, and a welcoming atmosphere, with occasional hiccups quickly addressed; the energy of the co-owner and the team is repeatedly noted as making diners feel at home. The setting, with indoor and outdoor seating and tasteful decor, is described as charming and comforting, perfect for family meals or casual outings. Ramadan and Iftar experiences are celebrated for their warmth and generous menus. While a few reviews mention small portions for the price or a minor service lapse, the overall impression is of authenticity, hospitality, and high quality food, making Terracotta a must visit for Tunisian cuisine in Montreal and a place many plan to return to.

// Alerte à la perle rare! //

We ate at Terracotta our first night in Montreal & it did not disappoint! We got a table right away, the server was fantastic; she was kind, helpful, & gave really great recommendations. We ordered the mechouia salad to share & then my husband got the fruits de mer (seafood) gargoulette & loved it, I got the poulet (chicken) ojja which I also loved but it was very spicy so make sure you're up for that!

The only downside of our experience is we were seated next to their trash (maybe recycling?) bins & it got a little smelly at times. The food & cheerful waitress made this easy to overlook but it was a bummer especially when dining.

The best restaurant of our entire trip! They made us feel like family, & the food was divine. This is a must-try. Definitely try the octopus salad as the octopus is cooked to absolute heavenly perfection. Terracotta is the best!

What an experience. If you're looking for something new & original, this restaurant is a must try. Chefs directly from Tunisia, the food makes you travel & gives you a real experience.
Everything was delicious but the highlights for me were the terracotta lamb, the octopus salad, the ojja & the kafteji. My husband had the seafood terracotta which he said was unreal, I just prefer meat.
This is a summer must try, especially with their beautiful terrace.

The moment the family walked in the door, we received a warm welcome by Sabri. He provided excellent service throughout our family meal. What a gentleman! The food is remarkable. We had the octopus salad which was exceptionally tasty. We also had the Ojja Merguez & the seafood Gargoulettes which were as remarkable. We finished with the creme brûle which was to die for. We had this amazing & pleasurable Chat with the owner. We felt like we were part of the restaurant family. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Tunisian Cuisine ! Unique & delicious, Honey & pistachios on soft roasted lamb shank was totally new to us. Definitely a must try. More egg's than I expected 😁 fresh salads & some Smokey spicy ( very spicy) choice with the three salad app. Absolutely have the lemonade with honey, we made it through three, not too tarte or sweet - just right. Excellent attentive service. The pageantry of the lamb was very nice as well

Great place for a quiet lunch on a hot day. We shared the salad trio & the lamb entree. Both were excellent. & the fresh breads with each was wonderful. Wholeheartedly endorse this place.

Our first time trying Tunisian cuisine. Nice authentic restaurant. Food was very good. Portions were big. For entrees we had the bricka & the trio of salade or dip. For main we had the lamb gargoulette & seafood gargoulette. It needed a little salt but sauce was flavorful. Service was fast. The menu was hard to understand but you could see pictures of the plates on instagram. Seems to be very family friendly. Menu has many pasta dishes & sandwhiches. Music was a little loud & around 8h30 there was a live singer. He was good. Vibe was festif.but It was too loud for the small restaurant. It would have been fine maybe at a bigger restaurant or the sound system could be rearrange. some tables were too close to the stage area. We felt too crowded, servers had not enough space to circulate. Maybe have less table. Food had unique méditerranean flavors. It has potential.good for groups. Entrées can easily be shared. We would go back to try different dishes. But maybe going earlier in the eveneving.
