Review Summary

Reviewers describe Tapi Go! as a gluten free friendly Brazilian eatery offering pao de queijo, tapioca, and acai bowls with fresh flavors, generous fillings, and good value, complemented by friendly staff and a cozy vibe whether dining in or takeaway. Many praise the gluten free promise and safety for those with celiac, along with plant based options and a strong emphasis on quality ingredients, while a few caution about potential cross contact and some slightly higher prices; the beverages and dessert options like acai bowls and juices receive high marks, and the overall impression is that Tapi Go! is a standout gluten free spot in Montreal that locals and visitors keep returning to for reliable tasty meals.

Very delicious, but a bit expensive

The combo is perfect! Pao de queijo & tapioca taste the same as I used to eat in Brazil. It's definitely worth it. I'll be coming back for sure.

Best'tapiocas' in Canada (that's a typical Brazilian gluten-free tortilla made of cassava), you should try. My wife loves their'pao de queijo' (typical Brazilian cheese-filled bread). & their açaí also is delicious & perfect in summer in their outdoor area on the sidewalk.

Almost 20$ for a sandwich smaller than my hand.

Edit after the rude response from the owner: all of your sandwiches cost between 16.25$ & 18.55$ on Uber Eats, with photos that hide how little food you actually get for that price. Thanks for clarifying the kind of'business' you really are!

Thank you for responding. I understand that you take pride in being a gluten free kitchen & that systems are in place to prevent cross contact. I am not questioning your intent or effort. Your food was so good & amazing!

I do want to clarify a few important points, particularly for others with coeliac disease who may read this.

The statement that a contamination issue would typically affect more than one guest is not medically accurate for coeliac disease. Gluten exposure does not behave like food poisoning. Cross contact can occur at the level of a single ingredient, a single supplier batch, a single preparation window, or a trace exposure that only affects highly sensitive individuals. Two people can eat the same food & have completely different outcomes. One person becoming ill does not rule out gluten exposure.

Large batch preparation does not eliminate this risk. In some cases it increases it, especially if an ingredient lot changes, a substitution is made, or a single contaminated input enters a batch. Only guests who eat from that specific timing window may be affected, & that can easily be one person.

Similarly, not receiving other reports does not mean an exposure did not occur. Coeliac reactions are often delayed, misattributed, or milder in others. Many people do not recognize the source, do not connect symptoms back to a meal, or do not report it at all.

I am newly diagnosed & extremely careful & very sensitive. I was visiting from out of town & grocery shopped for all other meals. Everything else I consumed was labelled gluten free or naturally gluten free & ingredients were checked. I ate from your restaurant twice because you advertise as gluten free & trusted that representation. Twice because it was so dam good.

Following those meals, I experienced a severe delayed coeliac reaction. Something clearly went wrong somewhere, even if unintentionally. My review reflects my lived experience & is shared so others with coeliac disease can make informed decisions.

I will email you at the email address you provided.

-----------------
The food was incredibly good, & I would have happily eaten here again. Unfortunately, despite advertising as gluten free, I experienced a severe delayed coeliac reaction after eating here twice that required emergency medical care. This suggests cross contamination or gluten exposure. I'm sharing this so others with coeliac disease can make informed decisions.

My favorite place for Pao de Queijo hands down

We stopped by this café with my daughter completely by chance & had never been here before - what a lovely discovery. The café positions itself as gluten-free & lactose-free, & it truly delivers.
My daughter chose a gluten-free dessert with banana & nut butter - absolutely delicious. I had a matcha latte with plant-based milk, & honestly, it was the best matcha latte I've ever had.
I also want to mention the prices: for gluten-free & healthy food, they are very reasonable & affordable. Anyone who follows a healthy or mindful diet knows how expensive this usually is, so this was a pleasant surprise.

It's great to see more places like this opening in the neighborhood - where you can eat well, feel good, & trust the ingredients. We'll definitely be back 🤍

I would recommend even non gluten free folks to come here & try out their delicious pao de quejo. The best. I wish other cities also had such grab & go gluten free places.

Delicious sandwiches, & great for gluten free eaters. The biggest Pao de Quejo I've ever seen too.

The food is very delicious & the cheese buns are to die for (even as a non-gluten-free eater)! I literally went back two days in a row for the traditional cheese bun; the pepperoni cheese bun is delicious as well, but the texture of the traditional is unmatched.

The staff were very friendly & helpful to English speakers, so definitely pay them a visit if you're from outside of the Montreal area!
