Went here with four people & had the omikase. Flavours were great, I love mushrooms & that came through really well. Atmosphere is nice & cosy & provided a great environment to catch up.
Appetizers were great, soup was great, dessert was fine, & the sushi was good. But as a non-vegetarian it does not serve as a replacement for sushi. The flavours are great & they have some really interesting fusions, but most of the rolls rely on sauces to get their flavour. That's ok, & they taste good, but they are heavier & not equivalent for standard sushi.
This is solid vegan food in a nice setting, but it is not a sushi replacement.View more
Was recently there for my wife's birthday. We had 2 appetizers & 4 different sushi rolls.
For apps we had Agedashi Tofu, Tataki (soy steak) & for sushi we had Kamikaze, Croque Madame, Mr. Croquent & Fried Avocado. Everything was amazing but the Tataki was the star of the night.
The staff was also super helpful & friendly.View more
Beautiful experience! Everything we were brought was delicious & the incredible variation of flavours & textures in each piece was a testament to the chefs abilities! I'm going to be thinking of the miso soup broth for a long time... Also worth noting that each roll is so packed with flavour that I never considered adding soy sauce, which I've never experienced before now. Every member of the wait staff we interacted with was great & we could tell that folks around us were enjoying their evening as much as we were. The layout made us feel pretty secluded despite being next to three other tables, & we couldn't hear others' conversations which I appreciated. The music at one point got a bit bumping but it mellowed down after not too long. Dim lighting & candles contribute to the cozy atmosphere. We spent a decent sum here (incl drinks) but it was expected & we both felt like we got what we paid for. Will be returning to try more in the near future!View more
First off, this place serves vegan sushi. I went here for my birthday dinner & you really need a reservation. We ordered the omakase, which comes with your choice of appetizers/dessert & the chef's choice of sushi. It's a cozy little place & everything was absolutely delicious.
Don't expect those small makis with just cucumber or avocado, these are rolls full of different ingredients that mixes texture & flavor that taste so good together. They also made a vegan version of salmon made of konjac & I really enjoyed that too. The service is impeccable & the atmosphere is super lovely. & if you've eaten at other sushi places, the price is pretty reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended.View more
This was truly delicious! All the sushis are incredible. Favorites were the fried avocado ones, the "salmon" ones & the "Siam" spring rolls in Mango/Peanut sauce. Their cocktails were also very cool & worth the price.View more
I love everything....i'm still clawing at the memory of my first time here when I had a crunchy spring roll which i simply did not comprehendView more
Momo sushi is not sushi, it's creative vegan food that comes in the shape of rolls. Some items on the menu are really good, others go a bit overboard in terms of the combination of flavors & textures.View more
I didn't have a reservation. I had the choice between a table or the bar. I chose a table but had to finish within half an hour. Because the table was reserved. Maybe I would have more time to enjoy my meal if I chose to sit at the bar... They have a new kind of rolls that's filled with lettuce instead of rice. For a fresh & light meal. Love the Krispy Rice. The garnishing are piled high, don't know how to eat that without making a mess. :P There's a mocktail called Promenade en Provence. It's an infusion of mint-rosemary, melissa, lavender, pear, apple & lemon.View more
meh. ok but not great. the rolls were interesting but tasted like they had been made the day before & had sat in the fridge all day. i doubt i would repeat.View more
Delicious food with great hospitality! Both my bf & I are not vegetarians, but we go here for our nice dinner out night. Their mushroom rolls are delicious!View more
With the number of vegan sushi restaurants in town, I knew I had to try one of the top rated here at Sushi Momo & I was not disappointed. Rolls here range from $10 - $18 & vary in pieces (clearly marked on the menu). They also offer in-house sashimi if you're interested in their take on mock fish. The rolls here are some of the best, with only one being just okay while the rest were fire. Must-have: Melitzana & Sakura Rolls. The first one was the BEST with an eggplant flambée & the textures in the roll were simply perfection. Smoky, savory, & crunchy all in one go. I also loved their Sakura Roll where they used a lot of their take on fishes in a very classic, cold roll. We also had their Geisha Roll which was also nice but on the deep-fried end. It ended up being very heavy & we would have preferred to have chosen another of the earlier futomakis instead. Of course, can't end a meal without dessert, & their Poached Pear with Nuts was an excellent way to finish. If you're able to dine in, please do! The decor & feel are very chic & upscale without necessarily paying high end prices for fantastic food. Reservations are highly encouraged especially if you are coming on a busy weekend evening.View more
I came in with high hopes which were only partially met by the food. I would advise against the omakase; in my experience, the chef's choice is of sushi that is not especially notable (think the avocado-cucumber-mango variety that is the typical vegetarian option in any sushi restaurant, save for the use of vegan cream cheese), & it feels like they choose their cheaper rolls for this (I noticed another table got the exact same rolls), making the price tag hard to justify. Definitely better to go à la carte; I was jealous of my friend's order of the Umami roll! The appetizers were also very good. The service & ambience were excellent.View more
I enjoyed all the food but I came with huge expectations given the 4.7 rating & I think that's a bit overrated. We had miso soup, gyozas, & 3 rolls: momo, queen of hearts...the sushi was good but not mind-blowing & the gyozas a bit salty. I'd recommend it though if you are veganView more
Got lucky with a spot on the patio on a Friday night. Service was wonderful, staff were excited to present each item. Service was not quick but felt like a good pace to enjoy the different options. Everything was delicious, though many options feel like they are packing a lot of different flavours into a single roll. All in all we had a great time & would recommend this to anyone looking for good plant based options. We previously (2021) tried this restaurant as take-out & would recommend eating at the restaurant over take-out!View more
My friend & I ordered from sushi Momo last night, as there was a deal on Uber eats, & never having tried it before I was interested. I had no idea it was vegan until our order came. Let me tell you, this was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. I'm a die hard sushi lover, but this meal had me rethinking my love for fish, as it what so delicious being completely vegan. The variety of rolls I got, the flavour combinations & quality left us speechless! The Miso soup was also fantastic. 110% recommend & will be returning.View more
Before I visited here I heard many good things but this place was so much better than what I was expecting. The restaurant itself is stunning. So natural & beautiful. A earthy & simple vibe which relaxed me but when the food started coming it was anything but simple. The flavours were so complex & I could tell that so much effort went into each dish, each sushi roll & everything we were served. The presentation was amazing & the service was great. I was very impressed & I think I will need to stop in here on every trip I make to Montreal because this place was heaven!View more
Usually when you order an entree & only take one bite, followed by the request for the check, the server asks if there was anything wrong. Pilling on loads of ingredients into one roll was just a cacophony of opposing flavors. Salmon was overwhelmed by salty/sour/pickle? I'm not even sure. No real expectations, but when you're paying that much for bite sized portions, there were some. Environment was unique & cozy, great date spot.View more
Food is great but it always takes a long time to get the food whether it's here or bloom sushi. Wish you got a little more for your rolls too.View more
All vegan sushi! The quality is very good but it comes with a price. I took the omakase which came with miso soup, pork dumplings (vegan), 12 sushi pieces & dessert. I don't recommend the omakase because the sushi rolls were very good but everything else was ok. So instead of paying 50$ for the set, I'd get 50$ worth of sushi. The reason I didn't go with the rolls from the start was because I didn't know what was what (The lighting was very dim & the menu letters were worn out). I would have liked a menu explanation because it's not your typical sushi. The service was really slow it took forever to get our order. I forgot to take a picture of the dumplings because I was too hungry & there 24 pieces (they combined 2 orders). Overall impressed of the vegan sushi!View more
A new Montreal favourite. This was insanely delicious. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life (I'm not vegan or vegetarian). - The Gyu tempura roll was amazing - The roll with capers on it was my favourite. Holy cow it's so good. Make a reservation 1 week in advance !! 10 pieces of sushi each was enough for us. The service was amazing. The waiter just asked how many rolls we wanted & chose for us. He chose really well. The dessert is pretty good, but not amazing. It was $36 for 10 large pieces of sushi & dessert.View more
Started off with a miso soup that had the perfect amount of saltiness & umami flavor. Subsequently had two different types of rolls that were extremely delicious & tasted very fresh. The atmosphere inside felt very cozy with nice warm lighting. The bilingual staff were very nice. Downsides: the price - but that is to be expected since this restaurant is a little bit more upscale. Also, they only give you five rolls. Felt like the portions could've been a bit bigger. If I find myself in Montreal again, I will not hesitate to come here again.View more
I was pleasantly surprised by this vegetarian sushi restaurant. The rolls were delicious! My favorite was the one with halloumi cheese in it. Yum!View more
The vegan sushi was good but we were not blown away by it. The gyoza were good, the edamame had some odd spices on it. The rolls all kind of tasted the same except for the Delhi (we had the delhi, momo, sirean & rose). They were good but the delhi had something fried on top that should have been crispy but it was limp & soggy. Why the soy paper instead of seaweed? It stuck to the board & wasn't flavorful. Service when we came in took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us at all (I thought maybe we were in the wrong restaurant). Otherwise friendly & helpful. Drinks were good. It's not cheap. Would not go back.View more
As somebody who doesn't consume fish, I'd never thought I'd be able to experience the pleasures of a fine omakase, but Sushi Momo allowed me to do so, without falling short of expectations.
I had their set-menu, which included an oyster shooter, a mango-soba salad, chef's choice of sushi, & a brownie.
The shooter was made of savoury, stringy oyster mushrooms in a slightly tangy sauce with a crispy chip on top.
The mango-soba salad was great, I enjoyed how the fried onions provided a flavorful & textural contrast to the luscious noodles, same with the radish & greens. However, the mangos were underripe & overly tart.
Chef's choice of sushi rolls provided to me were the Delhi, Tropical, & Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle.
Delhi was reminiscent of Japanese curry, with crispy fried kabocha & peppers on a roll with konjac shrimp & a light curry flavour behind it.
Tropical was a refreshing punch, of mango, coconut, freeze-dried strawberries, with a yuzu-mango sauce, & the same konjac shrimp. In both instances the konjac shrimp was chewy & flavourless, but it did not detract from the food.
Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle was a mass of rich creamy mushrooms with a seaweed caviar on top of a thick piece of fried rice.
The dessert was also presented well, a fudgy brownie with strawberries, & a raspberry & mango emulsion, but I wasn't a big fan.View more
I was so excited to try out this vegan sushi restaurant & it did not disappoint. We went with the Omakase menu to be able to try a bit of everything. The menu was quite extensive with lots of variety. The salad was flavorful & fresh & the rolls were as beautiful as they were delicious to eat. So much play on textures & flavors. Using konjac to make it look like a salmon sashimi is brilliant. Will most definitely go back!View more
Favourite sushi restaurant hands down! Can't go wrong with the Momo roll. I also really liked the Sakura roll. So far everything has been delicious. It can get busy in the evening so try to reserve in advance.

Very good! & very filling!! We loved the flavours & the presentation. However, it might be good to try & make some of the rolls maybe a slight be less rice & a slight bit less filling to make them just a little bit smaller. The piece were beautifu
I went with 2 friends, non of us being vegan, & we all agree that our sushi craving was more than fulfilled at Sushi Momo! We got the 3 person tasting menu (which could have served 4 people). Each roll was so dynamic & flavourful. Great atmosphere. Pl
Delicious vegan sushi! The selection is amazing, & the staff were great in helping us navigate the menu & pick our rolls. Will definitely return next time we are in Montreal.
You continue to be the best sushi I have ever had. The creativity of your rolls is unparalleled. Thanks for another amazing meal! :)
